Bali's secret White House is one of 2 units that make up Bali's Mimba Villa. Quiet, private, and exotic, with a king size bed, AC, wifi, and lovely pool, it is close to Padangbai and its developing and friendly Hindu-Bali atmosphere.
The WHITE HOUSE is one of two, beautiful Balinese-style modern vacation units on a single property, that have air con, hot water, & wifi. It sits, surrounded by a beautiful garden, beside a traditional "Bale" (a Hindu-Bali p(website hidden) for relaxation), facing a 6 meter private pool, right in the middle of a rural banana & coconut field, 5 minutes by motorbike from Padangbai's famous "White Sand Beach".
The White House has 1 king size, comfy bed. (And an extra mattress, if needed, for a 3rd person, adult or child). The main living-
bedroom in each unit is air conditioned, and there is a separate bathroom (w/ a hot water shower) and a kitchen that has a small frig and simple cookware to prepare meals at the villa.
We have 2 friendly Balinese staff people who come daily, 1 to clean the property, the other to clean the pool. They will also gladly help with shopping, errands, babysitting, etc. just ask.
You can book the WHITE HOUSE here. The GREEN HOUSE (with 2 twin beds) has its own listing.
If guests book both bungalows together, we offer a 20% DISCOUNT.
Guests will have access to the bungalow(s) they rent and to the entire property. The pool and the property will be shared only when both units are simultaneously rented, which is infrequently. Guests also have access to 2 nearby East Coast public & beautiful beaches, the WHITE SAND and the BLACK SAND beaches. Also to nearby scuba diving and snorkeling. To the nearby Bali Safari Park. To local markets. To almost daily Hindu-Bali ceremonies. To lots of eco-friendly tourism.
And to our local manager, Made Sukanta, who can arrange for anything your heart desires.
Interaction with Guests
My wife and I live in Los Angeles. So our super knowledgeable and capable manager, Made, handles everything at the Villa.
Often only 1 unit is booked at a time, so there is always peace & privacy.
When both units are booked, the pool is shared.
Padangbai is a still quiet and developing fishing village and ferry hub on the East Coast of Bali. It is not nearly so crowded at the Kuta Beach-Seminyak "strip", yet it still has eco-friendly tourism.
Our Villa is set back down a private road, surrounded by banana and coconut trees, amidst Mimba Village. It is secluded, private, and peaceful, yet close enough to get anywhere in the Padangbai area, as well as convenient to get around the entire island.
It is helpful, if not essential, to rent a simple-to-operate motor scooter to get on and off the property conveniently. Made, our manager, can arrange for rental and teach newbies to operate the scooter in 15 minutes. It's fun.
Alternatively, guests can just hang out at the villa and walk to the beaches or to town, or arrange for transport when needed, either to town, or for day (or overnight) trips around the entire island.
Also, small cars will fit down the private, unpaved road
And buses do arrive in Padangbai from all over the island.
Other Things to Note
Both overnight & long term stays are available. Long term rentals are particularly suitable for retirees and pensioners.
Our pool may not be suitable for young children who don't swim: no guard rails and no "shallow" end". However, plastic tube/"floaties" can solve the problem.
Our main man and manager/concierge, Made (Ma-Day), can pick you up at the Denpasar international airport ($70), check you in personally at the villa, and get you anything you need at the Villa, any time! He can also be your personal host & tour guide to Balinese life and culture: everything from traditional wedding ceremonies, to Barong ballets & "kecak" monkey chants, to local night markets, to scuba diving & snorkeling, to multi-day trips eco-adventuring to Ubud, Amed, Lovina, and all the other magical places around the island.
Our Villa is set back in Mimba Village. It is beautiful safe, and surrounded by walls and a gated driveway for private parking. We ask guests to be friendly and respectful of neighbors, to be keep the place clean to keep the critters out, and to ask any and all questions of Made, our super concierge and manager.
Check in time is flexible. Check out is at 11 a.m.
If you are our only guest, smoking is allowed. No pets, please.
Celluar phones have good reception at the villa. Right now, there are no TVs. (Let's see how long we can hold out!). There is wireless internet connection or guests can buy a data chip for their i-Pad (about $20).
I know Eric and Surya from L.A.They are good people and wonderful hosts. The White House is a paradise in the middle of a beautiful rural setting.I loved that it was a 5 minute motorbike ride from town.Being on a bike felt like"freedom"and a way to get to know the real (website hidden)"Eat Pray Love"here.Everything was clean and well taken care of and made. The manager couldn't have been more helpful.I will be coming back here on my next trip to Bali. Mari E.Martinez, a Bali visitor since 1991 .
The unit is very nice and we loved the garden, the pool and the quietness of the place (5 min to padangbai with a scooter but we need have a scooter).
But we don't think that the service provided justifies the price considering what we experienced renting villas in bali.
Very sorry about this. We had a local staff issue right when you visited. We always try to provide excellent service, and our manager, Made, goes out of his way to treat our guests like family. I think you will see in other reviews that our guests mention his "services" as exceptional and rate them very highly. Glad you appreciated the Villa!
YES in the middle of nothing, in Mimba village, 15 minutes from the City by motorbike. Free transfer from the harbour where we arrived from Gili T. Quiet and peaceful except some roosters at the sunset, pool is good but not so clean on the right side. It could be interessing take a walk around the village. There's a temple and a lot of farms with animal (pigs, cows ecc). Bed is confortable, good net for mosquitoes.
NO You need a motorbike to move. But First of all, you have to know that Made, the manager of white and green House, loves his scooter so much... He will rent it to you but he'll ask and confiscate your passport till the end of your days in White House (!!!) "You know.. It's for the police: if you damage my scooter, any kind of damage, you'll pay me 100 $ and you'll have to come with me at the police station for certificate it". Wow, 20 days in Bali, always renting motorbike, it never Happens before. However you need motorbike as I sayed because House is in the Middle of Nothing. Be careful because road is full of stones and little rocks, no good for tyres of scooter and you know if made find damages...
From the photos it looks like a villa but its just a bungalow with a little kitchen. Door cannot close in a perfect way. So be careful about cockroaches and other insects. Ah, in white House better you like geckos, two big of them lives in House (we were lucky because we love them :-) ). Towels were dirty with great yellow stain in the middle. Bathroom is essential, just a little water from shower. If you ask for a driver, tarifs couldn't be so cheap. quality/price not so good
Wow! 1 Day on our property and ALL this to say! Too bad. Our villa is unique and wonderful BECAUSE it is "in the middle of nothing". (Actually it's in the middle of a beautiful banana & coconut field, one of Bali's still natural treasures! Only a westerner would call that "nothing"!)
The sad thing is that Made, our manager, treats people like family, and as you can see in other reviews, he goes out of his way to make customers happy and satisfied. And he does not "confiscate" passports, he holds them while guests rent his motorbike. Why? Because he has been burned in the past. International travel is a 2 way street and although the "customer is always right", not every customer is honest, kind, or trustworthy. We hope all our Airbnb guests are, and we treat them with generosity and respect, as we wish this guest did our manager....
Please read some other reviews before you allow this young man to turn you off to a unique experience in a rural Balinese village - still w/ western amenities!!!! And a clean pool!
Had a very relaxing time here. Extremely peaceful and just what was needed. As the host told us transport is required as the walk to get down was 30 minutes and involved a big hill! Ok for some but not for me!
We had such a wonderful time staying here. The peaceful tranquility of the place is like nothing else. As others have commented on the distance from padang bai I feel it necessary to say that it didn't bother us at all, it takes about 15 minutes and it a lovely walk and you get to experience authentic Bali. Made was an excellent help with everything, airport transfers, booking our boat ride to Gilis, along with plenty advice of places to go all over Bali. A local expert. I have no yes room about recommending this place to anyone.
Our night stay was a stop over to catch the Gili Gili fast boat to Gii Islands. We enjoyed the pool. Made met us in Padang Bai and we followed him to the location which is very remote to the main Village of Padang Bai. Made was also very nice to take us seperately on his bike to the location of the White House which can be only accessed by motorbike or pushbike. Upon arriving we wished we had of purchased Tea, coffee and milk as the well equipped kitchen did not have this available. It was an economical & great place to stay.
the location seemed to be near the harbor (announce's map), but the real position in little farest. nice place, quiet. need a motorbike to reach every place (beaches - very nice - restaurants or harbor).
