Much appreciated, Thanks
We had a great time at this spot on Melrose Ave. It was right in the middle of everything which was great! But, it also meant that it was right in the middle of everything! There are only fans in the unit so we kept the windows open for the most part this meant you heard everything going on outside at all times of the day. The actual unit was great. Really spacious and in what felt like a safe and secure building. There is a very small kitchenette with no sink so be prepared to eat out. That being said there are tons of great choices in the area. All in all a great experience and especially good if you want to be in the middle of the action. We had a few questions during the trip and Angie was super responsive and helpful.
The location was fantastic! We were able to walk out the front door and walk along the famous Melrose Avenue in LA. Lots of shops and art galleries around. It was only a 30 minute walk to Meltdown Comics, for any comedy nerds out there, they have fantastic shows! The room itself was OK, it's not a luxury suite... It's an extremely loud street with lots of traffic- so if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. Angie was quick to answer our questions and get our wifi up and running. I would recommend this place to anyone on a budget and would like to stay in LA, right in the heart of Melrose Avenue, and to experience it's colourful art/fashion/food culture.
I’ve stayed at Angie’s place for five nights and it has a wonderful location, you have everything you want walking around a few blocks and the main spots in LA are 30 minutes driving. In the other hand, at night its too noisy because the traffic, shops and bars around. The Wifi never works properly. But the most important thing you have to take on mind is that the place smells like hell and is too dirty, it was a nightmare come everynight to that place. I know that is an old building, but the apartment itself is less than Ok. Finally and not less important, bed bugs through the place.
Checking, checkout and parking was easy (Clinton st is one block away and always found a place, you must read carefully the signs and u’ll be ok).
Angie and Eleni (her assistant) answered fast when I had any Q’s. Also, she wrote me, that she’ll give me some money back because all the inconvenience (I'm waiting for that).
Sorrowfully very disappointing airbnb experience!!!
Check in was easy, the location was awesome, however parking was a little problematic (got a ticket on the last day we were there, but that was my fault, lol...L.A. is brutal with parking enforcement!). Lots of space, but an older building with one flight of stairs, so if you have elderly parents traveling with you like I did, this may or may not be a problem. No A/C, but we opened the windows for a nice breeze. No stove for cooking, but I don't know many people who cook while on vacation; a coffeepot and small refrigerator were all we needed, so this was just right. Somewhat noisy at night with a hookah bar across the street, sightseeing buses, and heavy road traffic on Melrose, but on the flip side there are many places to eat and drink nearby within walking distance, and this is a "hot" area to stay in. The price was right and we thought the place had a lot of charm, was very roomy and our host was easily reached by phone. All in all a good place to stay, and an attentive host, which is very important.
The location was great. The apartment is next to restaurants, supermarkets and stores. If you need to get buses there are several stops around it.
The apartment for itself is not good if you plan to stay like a month as I did. It is too noisy because the old windows don't close completely and all that cars noises from Melrose comes in. As the apartment is too old is possible to hear sounds and people conversation from the store below.
When we arrived there, the apartment was too dirty and smelling bad as it was not cleaned for a LONG time, there was even dog footprint on the mattress. The carpet was also dirty. We had to clean by ourselves.
Amenities like microwave, coffee machine and cupboards for a fast breakfast was ok.
I would not stay there anymore. Expensive for what it offers.
Angie is an amazing host, we didn't like the first location and she upgrade us to the very nice apartment. Very very good in customer service. Thank you Angie
