Appetizers, Wine, Waves and Whales

House - Private room · Juniper Ave, Morro Bay, CA 93442, United States

On the deck at sunset, I serve you appetizers and a local wine. In the morning, enjoy fresh-baked chocolate croissants and hot coffee while watching for whales to swim by. Walk to the beach, local restaurants for fish tacos or farmer's market....

The Space

In additional to using the front door, you can come and go through the private entrance to your room. Two queen beds and room for one extra small mattress. Max capacity 5 people.

Garden patio and decks with ocean & Rock views just outside your room. This room has a wet bar, frig, TV, two queen beds. Enjoy the rain showers and Jacuzzi tub in the two recently remodeled beautiful spa bathrooms : ).

From the living room, dining room, and decks, there are outstanding full views. Excellent partial views from your room and garden patio.

You will absolutely love Morro Bay! It is so inspiring to look at Morro Rock - the impressive rock formation where sea meets sand. The endless blue ocean and expansive beach with surfers and an occasional horse are so impressive. Its a great jog from my house along the beach to the Rock and back.

The town of Morro Bay has a surprising wharf bustling with shops and outstanding and romantic restaurants - no chains, all original. The vibe of Morro Bay is fantastic.

Nearby is Hearst Castle, Cambria, Cayucos, Harmony, Pismo Beach, Avila Beach and San Luis Obispo. The entire area has over 300 wineries and rolling hills of grape vineyards and views - just astounding during the growing season.

This is a NO SMOKING house/yard. Ahhh.... fresh air everywhere!

Welcome to Morro Bay!

- Linda

Guest Access

Also, enjoy the outdoor hot shower after a day at the beach, or if you just enjoy showering outside : ).

Hot, freshly baked chocolate and almond croissants and coffee served on the deck in the morning.

I also usually have several snacks including English muffins, bagels, breads, cereals, marmalades, jams, butter, cream cheese, peanut butter, and teas.

Occasionally I will bake fresh scones in the mornings. Yum!

Interaction with Guests

I am usually home but occasionally away. I occupy the upstairs and you will have complete privacy downstairs. I will go with the flow if you want privacy, or want to hang out with me in the living room and dining room! Many, many good times have been had with guests who want to hang out! : ).

The Neighborhood

I absolutely love this precious neighborhood! My house is perched in the hills of Morro Bay, with fantastic ocean and mountain views. As you drive up the hill you see homes with quaint boats such as the "Scampi" and "Castaway," and seaside decor of dolphins, whales, pelicans and starfish.

Up from my street, the drive gets very steep, and the houses very nice, and it makes for a great morning walk or run. Remarkable views every step!

Getting around

Walk to the beach and some local restaurants from here, including the super popular "Taco Temple" for the most amazing fish tacos ever! Or, drive to the Embarcadero for other restaurants. Lots of public transportation on Main St, just a few blocks down the hill.

Other Things to Note

House is full of art & antiques.... and whimsy!

  • We all had an excellent time! Linda's home is a Jem and we all really enjoyed our short there! I would definitely recommend this place and stay here again.

    March 2014
  • Linda was an awesome person, a very good lunch was prepared as we arrived, along with a bottle of Californian wine, and we also had the occasion to have breakfast before leaving (we stayed only one night with our 2 kids)
The room is really good, shared bathroom but the room next to ours was free so that was not a problem.
The beach is a little bit further than it looks on the picture (at least 10mn walk) but the shore is beautiful and wild, and with only a few locals jogging or exercising

  • We loved our stay in the purple room! Unfortunately we only stayed one night and didn't get the chance to meet Linda, but she had everything ready for us and goes above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable. The rain shower and the view from the patio were both incredible. We enjoyed the sunset on the beach and dinner at Taco Temple. Good vibes all around in Morro Bay!

  • The accomodation was perfect. Everything was clean and cosy. The room was big and the bathroom beautiful (i loved the shower). I was especially happy that Linda reacted immediately to our last minute booking. All in all, perfect value for money! Thanks Linda.

  • Linda is amazing,. She was kind, accommodating, relaxed... all the qualities which make a great host. Linda made us snacks, breakfast and gave us information about the local area and where to go. We stayed in the room with two amazing beds, (better than the hotels) and all the facilities were brilliant.

Highly recommend the accommodation and Linda as a host to anyone in the area. Would stay again for sure. Thanks Linda

  • Last minute booking, went smoothly thanks to Linda. I wish we had been able to spend more time there. The views were beautiful and close to the beach to explore.

The beds were very comfortable and the room plenty big enough for our family and our bags!! Linda pays attention to small details which just makes the stay that much better.

The bathrooms were a delight to take a shower in!!

HI - my name is Linda and my two favorite places in the world are Morro Bay and South Lake Tahoe! I have a beach house in Morro Bay and a ski place in Tahoe that I offer on Airbnb. I am a SF/Bay Area transplant to the Central Coast, most recently from Emerald Hills, near Redwood City. I have a 19 yr old daughter in college. I'm a U.C. Berkeley grad who still has a lot of Berkeley in her. I love healthy eating and exercise. In Morro Bay I am completely mellowed out by the ocean view and beauty of the central coast from my livingroom window. : ) In Tahoe, the view is giant pine trees and snow covered mountains. Both are such stunning areas. In Morro Bay for hiking there is the stunning Montana de Oro bluffs, the waterfall at reservoir canyon, Mt. Madonna, Bishops Peak, the Harmony Headland trail to the ocean, and so many other coastal hikes.. In Tahoe, there are countless trails and smaller lakes such as Fallen Leaf Lake, and Burnside Lake. I do still love Zumba, Pilates and yoga, too. Love to have guests stay, and I stay out of your way, but am also here to chat with about the area if you want. Thanks! Linda
