In the morning, enjoy hot coffee while watching for whales to swim by. Stroll down the hill and neighborhood to the beach, local restaurants for fish tacos or farmer's market....
This guest room is one of three in a shared house. The two guest rooms downstairs share one bathroom. The bedroom upstairs has another shared bathroom. Meet other guests here from around the world! This listing is only for the bedroom in the picture. In additional to using the front door, you can come and go through the private entrance to your room. Two queen beds. Max capacity 4 people. This is my personal home - it is a real home - ala Airbnb spirit!
Garden patio and decks with ocean & Rock views just outside your room. This room has a wet bar, frig, TV, two queen beds. Enjoy the rain showers and Jacuzzi tub in the two recently remodeled beautiful spa
bathrooms : ).
From the living room, dining room, and small decks, there are outstanding full views. Excellent partial views from your room and garden patio.
About a 15 minute walk down the hill and through the neighborhoods.
You will absolutely love Morro Bay! It is so inspiring to look at Morro Rock - the impressive rock formation where sea meets sand. The endless blue ocean and expansive beach with surfers and an occasional horse are so impressive. Its a great jog from my house along the beach to the Rock and back.
The town of Morro Bay has a surprising wharf bustling with shops and outstanding and romantic restaurants - no chains, all original. The vibe of Morro Bay is fantastic.
Nearby is Hearst Castle, Cambria, Cayucos, Harmony, Pismo Beach, Avila Beach and San Luis Obispo. The entire area has over 300 wineries and rolling hills of grape vineyards and views - just astounding during the growing season.
This is a NO SMOKING house/yard. Ahhh.... fresh air everywhere!
Welcome to Morro Bay!
Also, enjoy the outdoor hot shower after a day at the beach, or if you just enjoy showering outside : ).
There is no breakfast, but when I am home, I often keep bagels and English muffins with cream cheese, butter and jam in the frig. Tea and coffee is self-serve. Help yourself!
Occasionally I will bake fresh scones in the mornings. Yum!
WASHING MACHINE: Due to a water shortage in Morro Bay, guests may no longer use the washing machine.
Interaction with Guests
I am usually home but occasionally away. If I am not home. There is no breakfast, but my neighbors usually put bagels & fruit in the frig if I am away, but not always. Coffee/tea is self-serve.
When I am at home, I occupy the upstairs and you will have complete privacy downstairs. I will go with the flow if you want privacy, or want to hang out with me in the living room and dining room! Many, many good times have been had with guests who want to hang out! : ).
While children are allowed, they are counted as guests - all ages. So if a mom & dad bring a 15 month old, for example, that would be 3 guests.
I absolutely love this precious neighborhood! My house is perched in the hills of Morro Bay, with fantastic ocean and mountain views. As you drive up the hill you see homes with quaint boats such as the "Scampi" and "Castaway," and seaside decor of dolphins, whales, pelicans and starfish.
Up from my street, the drive gets very steep, and the houses very nice, and it makes for a great morning walk or run. Remarkable views every step!
Walk to the beach and some local restaurants from here, including the super popular "Taco Temple" for the most amazing fish tacos ever! Or, drive to the Embarcadero for other restaurants. Lots of public transportation on Main St, just a few blocks down the hill.
Other Things to Note
House is full of art & antiques.... and whimsy! Children count as guests.
No smoking, no pets, no drugs.
Feel free to make coffee in the morning, or use the range to boil water for tea.
Please remember to return the key - thanks!
Welcome! : )
Awesome experience! Linda is very kind and gave each of us a hug when we arrived. We lived downstairs and there's a independent door to the bedroom so we don't have to disturb anyone when we walk in or out. Linda also recommend us great seafood restraunt nearby and provide excellent breakfast for us. Thank you so much Linda!
Linda's home is so beautiful and very comfy. We enjoyed our room. We did not get to meet Linda but we had the whole house to ourselves the first night. Linda had everything ready for us. so peaceful and quiet at her house and nice views of the Rock. We will come back again. Kelly and Nancy from Mariposa
As the excellent information folder and the notes throughout the home indicate this home is more an "entire home guest" (host's wordings throughout the home) kind of accommodation. We had booked this specific property because of the inviting picture and the title "Appetizers, Wine, Waves and Whales" but unfortunately did not experience any of them. The host did communicate by email welcoming us.
The room was wonderful, with a nice view of the Morrow Rock and the ocean. The furnishings and decor were luxurious and tasteful and the walk-in shower, very spacious and elegant. We totally enjoyed our stay!
The room and bathroom were very clean, and the hostesses are very responsive and helpful. The directions were clear and we had a pleasant stay at Linda's place.
The home was lovely and clean, bedroom and bathroom very comfortable. However I feel the photos and title "Appertisers, Wine, Waves and Whales" were misleading. In the photos it looks like you are almost on the beach, a closer inspection you can tell that what you see is not sand but the roof tops of other houses. It looks like you can eat breakfast on a lovely patio out side but this in fact is tiny, overshadowed and overlooked by other houses. We were told that a continental breakfast of bagels would be laid out for us by a neighbour for our arrival the evening of our stay and that we could help ourselves from the kitchen. This was not the case. There were a few slices of bread in the freezer but no butter and cereal in the cupboards but no milk. Just fruit and a few breakfast bars. Worse the coffee was very stale as was the tea.
Please accept a free night's stay in the future for any inconvenience! I had to leave for a funeral, and my neighbor had car trouble and could not make it in time to put fresh bagels and milk in the fridge. I'll add in my description that guests should GPS the location for best accuracy and give a better description of the deck. Accurate expectations are so very important to me, as well as a warm and wonderful stay at the house I love so much! Kindest Regards, Linda

HI - my name is Linda and my two favorite places in the world are Morro Bay and South Lake Tahoe! I have a beach house in Morro Bay and a ski place in Tahoe that I offer on Airbnb. I am a SF/Bay Area transplant to the Central Coast, most recently from Emerald Hills, near Redwood City. I have a 19 yr old daughter in college. I'm a U.C. Berkeley grad who still has a lot of Berkeley in her. I love healthy eating and exercise. In Morro Bay I am completely mellowed out by the ocean view and beauty of the central coast from my livingroom window. : ) In Tahoe, the view is giant pine trees and snow covered mountains. Both are such stunning areas. In Morro Bay for hiking there is the stunning Montana de Oro bluffs, the waterfall at reservoir canyon, Mt. Madonna, Bishops Peak, the Harmony Headland trail to the ocean, and so many other coastal hikes.. In Tahoe, there are countless trails and smaller lakes such as Fallen Leaf Lake, and Burnside Lake. I do still love Zumba, Pilates and yoga, too. Love to have guests stay, and I stay out of your way, but am also here to chat with about the area if you want.
