Lowcountry Living at its Best Too ! is located on the marsh for James Island Creek just minutes from the Holy City - Downtown Charleston. This private home offers a quiet king room with private bath, television and wifi. Children are welcome.
Two shopping centers featuring grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores and pharmacies are located 1 and 2 miles away. In addition to all the fine dining in downtown Charleston, there are many restaurants within 1 to 2 miles away. There are two movie theaters 1-2 miles away.
The CARTA bus system is available at Ellis Oak Drive and that is 1.2 miles away and you could park your car and take this to downtown Charleston. If you need to rent a car go to (website hidden). My husband and I have been able to get rental cars for $15 -$20 a day but never more than $25.
My husband and I have always enjoyed welcoming others into our home. The backyard of our property sits on the marsh and we witness the daily tide shifts and all the magnificent local birds and wildlife that share our beautiful marshland. We love meeting new folks and hope you will come and treat us to your company! Your visit includes breakfast and a microwave and refrigerator if needed.
At this time we are not accepting long term rentals.
No hiccups at all during the process or stay with Debbie and Ron! Clean, cozy and easily accessible home with friendly hosts that cook some good breakfast! Definitely recommend.
Debbie is the best...they are what Airbnb are all about. Wonderful home that gets better each time we stay. This was our 3rd visit and we have become good friends. Best location and home cooked breakfast around...love em both.
I needed a quiet place in Charleston during the very busy Bridge Run weekend, and I consider myself so lucky to have had the opportunity to stay at Deborah's wonderful home! Just a 2 minute drive from downtown Charleston, it is the perfect place to rest your head. Easy to get to, impeccably clean, very comfortable, a lot of privacy... I cannot say enough good things about our stay at Deborah's. Also, Deborah is wonderful, hospitable, and easy to communicate with. I would definitely stay here again. :)
Debbie's place was quite nice, but I need to get this bit of advice out to her future guests: it would be best to arrive in the daylight. The address is right on a major highway--it actually comes up before you think you have finished coming off the ramp (exit #2), and I would not bet that I could find it again without passing it by. (When we missed it the first time and called Debbie, she even went out to her driveway to flag us down--and I'm not sure she would want to do that a second time.)
Once you find it, it is almost like Shangri-La. Debbie is very accommodating, and the place is very comfortable, clean, and quiet (I quickly forgot I was near a major highway). I wish we our plans had allowed us to stay for more than one night.
The pictures don't show it, but since this information is important to me, I figure it might be to someone else: The shower is not a tub, and is very easy and safe, with a low threshhold (3" or so), a good strong bar to hold onto, and a seat (molded into the shower stall, so it is clean). The sprayer is movable but easy to secure in place. I wish more places used this kind of set-up.
Ms. Deborah was wonderful, I was greeted as I exited my car by her husband, and shown in great detail where I would stay. They provided amenities that most forget, in addition to extra things, such as bug spray, maps, etc. The bedroom itself was lovely, nicely decorated and spacious, as well as my own private bath, again with all the amenities. When I woke, Ms. Deborah quickly went about making me breakfast, fresh eggs from her chickens, and many other options layer out, as well as single brewed coffee. She is extremely nice and sociable, and in the short time I was there, I was comfortable and at ease. After recommending a few places for me to look and visit, we said our goodbyes, and I left feeling great. I we for sure book with her again next time I visit Charleston!
My wife and I stayed with Deborah recently. What can I say location, location, location. The longest drive we had was 30 minutes. Close to downtown, Folly Beach and Magnolia Plantation. We were up early to photograph sunrise, so we didn't get a chance to have fresh eggs, but there were bagels and cream cheese available. Great place to stay.
This was my wifes' first time staying at an Airbnb. She loved it. I tried to explain that not all Airbnbs are like this. Deborah spoiled her.
Deborah served a very good home cooked breakfast, especially the bananacake was awesome. The room was clean with a comfortble bed and the bathroom has a very good shower. If you have a light sleep, grab an earplugs, because the house is located next to a busy road
Great hosts. A comfortable room and very helpful and non-intrusive hosts. The location was great for us--5-7 min drive from downtown charleston but much cheaper than the charleston options. Also, breakfast is included! Highly recommended.
Wonderful stay! Not a single negative comment. Everything was great! Thank you, Deb and Ron!
Deborah's place is charming, comfortable and really close to everything in charleston you would want to visit. She herself is extremely friendly, accommodating and we had a great time staying with her. If I ever need to return to charleston i will definitely check to see if her place is available!
I wasn't able to take advantage of her breakfast but she was willing to accommodate my vegetarian and my girlfriends vegan lifestyles! a++ airbnber!
