About this listing
We're lucky enough to live in the heart of this great city. We are 1 block/1 metro stop from the main train station, 4 min walk to the Theresienwiese (site of Oktoberfest) and 10 min walk/3 metro stops to Marienplatz, Munich's main square.
We live in a 100 year old renovated building with spacious rooms, wood floors, and high ceilings. The guest bedroom has a very special feature- the original fireplace for the flat! An elevator makes it easy to get up to the third floor.
We have one large bathroom with a shower and toilet and one separate, smaller bathroom with just a toilet. The bathrooms are shared with Hannes and I but we are very good at staying out of evryone's way! I am a bit of a clean freak so you don't have to worry about any germs :) (Just ask Hannes!)
Peter and Kevin the guinea pigs love meeting new people but you won't see them unless you really want to! :)
If you are lucky enough to be in town during the Oktoberfest, it'd be hard to find a better location. You'll have no more than a 4 minute walk to make it home after that bier or two :)
Interaction with guests
Hannes and I are non-smokers but we have a balcony off the kitchen that everyone is welcome to use!
We are seasoned travelers and would love to help in any way we can!
Munich is a city made for bikes, and I would highly recommend seeing the city on two wheels, if possible! If not, the public transportation system is very easy and accessible, and we are no more than 5 stops for anywhere. Our "home" metro stop is Theresienwiese (site of the Oktoberfest). We are one stop away from Central Staion (hauptbahnhof), 2 stops away from Karlsplatz, and 3 stops away from Marienplatz, Munich's main square (where you'll also find the original Hofbrauhaus.)
Other things to note
If you need suggestions for free parking, please ask!
All we ask is that you treat our home as you'd expect us to treat yours!
We are a German/American couple living in the heart of Munich. We love to travel, eat, meet new people, and laugh! Hannes has a knack for design and Carrie spends her time working with children.
We are very proud of our historical, beautiful city and hope you will come to love it just as much as we do!
Welcome to Munich!!
