The small but comfortable PRIVATE DOUBLE ROOM is located in an apartment on the ground floor, facing the inner courtyard, right next to the Spree river.
The flat consists of 2 bedrooms (I occupy one of them), hallway, a small but fully functional kitchen, and bathroom. The wooden floors, high ceilings and central heating provide a clean and relaxing setting to rest after a busy day out.
The idea is for you to feel at home. You get clean bed-sheets and towels, full use of the kitchen, bathroom and washing machine.
The room has Wi-Fi, its own key to the door, a big wardrobe, a double bed (140x200), and a small table and chair.
Interaction with Guests
Coffee and tea are free of charge, along with my humble tips and advice!
Friedrichshain is arguably the most exciting neighbourhood in Berlin. While its busiest spots are just a short walk away, the flat itself is on a quiet street. There is also a supermarket at the corner.
The nearby Ostkreuz S-Bahn station is a strategic transport hub which provides easy and quick access to any part of the city, both its airports, and all railroad routes.
There are many options for public transport, but basically:
Schönefeld Airport: 35' with S9.
Tegel Airport: 49' with Bus TXL + S42.
Berlin Ostbahnhof: 13' with S7
Berlin Südrkeuz: 18' with S42
Berlin Hauptbahnhof: 30' with S7
Bus Station: Funkturm/ZOB: 48' with S42
* You get more detailed directions when you book.
Osktreuz S-Bahn station: 7' walk.
Some S-Bahn travel times from Ostrkeuz station to:
U-Bahn Warschauer Str. : 4'
Alexander Platz: 10'
Kottbusser Tor: 15'
Brandenburg Gate: 18'
Potsdamer Platz: 20'
Four buses also stop nearby:
•N94 (night bus)
IMPORTANT, READ ENTIRELY!
Check-in: After 13:00
Check-out: Before 12:00 (noon/midday).
1 – We need to set up an appointment for your check-in. Please send me your airport (SXF or TXL) or train/bus station name + time of arrival + return. Additionally, train number / flight number would be great. I need this info to calculate at what time you will get to the house, and what time you need to check-out. If you are driving, please calculate a realistic time of arrival, so we can set up an appointment.
2 – The door has an electronic device that allows me to open the door remotely, with my phone. If you are more than 30' late, I might not be home anymore. In such case, you will need to call me once you are at the door, and I will open it remotely. So please confirm that the phone number in your profile is correct, and that you will have this phone with you.
3 – If you arrive in the morning, I can suggest ideas on where to hang out until 13:00. If you would like me to do so, please specify whether you bring heavy/much luggage, as this, together with point 1 above, will determine your options.
Once you are here:
I beg guests to take shoes off at the entrance, so you might want to bring some slippers/flip-flops/extra pair of clean shoes.
No smoking around the house, except for the kitchen (closed door & open window).
Unfortunately the use of P2P software in Germany is punished by law, so in order to get the Wi-Fi password I will ask you to sign a piece of paper where you agree NOT to do so. I hate having to do this, but fines can get really high!
Other than the above, there are no "house rules", I only expect you to use common sense :)
Vinny is extremely helpful, organized and prepared. He has comprehensive directions to find his place from all common entry points to the city. Not only is the room nice and cozy but there are many resources for tourists such as brochures, catalogues and maps, all of which he went through with me while we had a glass of wine. And even though he offered his number in case I had any questions or needed help I didn't need it because he had made everything so easy from the beginning.
A great place that is located right near all the spots in East Berlin. Vinny is a great guy and extremely friendly. He is happy to help anytime and gives great advice on where to go and what to see. Thanks Vinny!
The apartment was as announced: clean and quite. Localized 5 minutes walk from a market and about 7 from the subway, the apartment fits very well those who want to spend some days and get to know Berlin. Vinny was a really nice host to us, he explained how the public transportation works and gave us some advice when we arrived. Highly recommended.
I was greeted with a 12-year-old-whiskey - what more can I say? Vinny is an amazing host, takes extra care to make a guest comfortable. The flat is stylish, warm and welcoming. Its easy to find and I highly recommend staying with Vinny in Freidrichshain!
Stayed with Vinny for two nights and it was the perfect spot to explore Berlin. Vinny is an awesome host, very friendly and extremely helpful. We had gotten our bearings and found out the most helpful information all over a cup of lovely coffee. The maps were a life saver, the proximity to transport was fantastic but mainly it is Vinny himself and his local knowledge which made our stay. Make sure and pay heed to his recommendations on food you will not be sorry.
We had a great stay and Vinny was so friendly and very helpful. We slept as babies in the freshly washed bedsheets after the big sightseeing tour Vinny had drawn on a map for us.
Thank you for a really pleasant stay and hope to see you again.
It was the greatest room ever. In addition, Vinny is so cool, nice and kind. He helped us a lot. Our time in Berlin was amazing and we must say thanks to Vinny. He's the best.
