About This Listing
SPECIAL PRICE for limited time only!
The small but comfortable PRIVATE DOUBLE ROOM is located in an apartment on the ground floor, facing the inner courtyard, right next to the Spree river.
The flat consists of 2 bedrooms (I occupy one of them), hallway, a small but fully functional kitchen, and bathroom. The wooden floors, high ceilings and central heating provide a clean and relaxing setting to rest after a busy day out.
The idea is for you to feel at home. You get clean bed-sheets and towels, full use of the kitchen, bathroom and washing machine.
The room has Wi-Fi, its own key to the door, a big wardrobe, a double bed (140x200), and a small table and chair.
Interaction with Guests
Coffee and tea are free of charge, along with my humble tips and advice!
Friedrichshain is arguably the most exciting neighbourhood in Berlin. While its busiest spots are just a short walk away, the flat itself is on a quiet street. There is also a supermarket at the corner.
The nearby Ostkreuz S-Bahn station is a strategic transport hub which provides easy and quick access to any part of the city, both its airports, and all railroad routes.
There are many options for public transport, but basically:
Schönefeld Airport: 35' with S9.
Tegel Airport: 49' with Bus TXL + S42.
Berlin Ostbahnhof: 13' with S7
Berlin Südkreuz: 18' with S42
Berlin Hauptbahnhof: 30' with S7
Bus Station: ZOB am Funkturm / Messe Nord: 48' with S42
* You get more detailed directions when you book.
Osktreuz S-Bahn station: 7' walk.
Some S-Bahn travel times from Ostkreuz station to:
U-Bahn Warschauer Str. : 4'
Alexander Platz: 10'
Kottbusser Tor: 15'
Brandenburg Gate: 18'
Potsdamer Platz: 20'
Four buses also stop nearby:
•N94 (night bus)
Other Things to Note
Parking: Our street is just outside the city's Umweltzone. So parking on the street is free and you don't need the LEZ sticker either ;)
IMPORTANT, READ ENTIRELY!
Check-in: After 13:00
Check-out: Before 12:00 (noon/midday).
1 – We need to set up an appointment for your check-in. Please send me your airport (SXF or TXL) or train/bus station name + time of arrival + return. Additionally, train number / flight number would be great. I need this info to calculate at what time you will get to the house, and what time you need to check-out.
2 – The apartment has an electronic device that allows me to open the door remotely, with my phone. If you are more than 30' late, I might not be home anymore. In such case, you will need to call me once you are at the front door, and I will buzz you into both the building and the apartment. So please confirm that the phone number in your profile is correct, and that you will have this phone with you.
Once you are here:
I beg guests to take shoes off at the entrance, so you might want to bring some slippers/flip-flops/extra pair of clean shoes.
No smoking around the house, except for the kitchen (closed door & open window).
Unfortunately the use of P2P software in Germany is punished by law, so in order to get the Wi-Fi password I will ask you to sign a piece of paper where you agree NOT to do so. I hate having to do this, but fines go up to EUR 5000!
As already mentioned by other users on the review section, Vinny is a great host. He makes me feel welcome in his small and simple, but neat and tidy home located in between two S-bahn station - Ostkreuz and Treptower Park. The former is nearby a rather youthful place with lots of good restaurants to eat at. Vinny gave a lot of suggestions on what to do and the map he gives upon arrival is extremely helpful. Will definitely recommend his place to others looking for a place to stay in Berlin.
Great location and a great host! Would recommend !
I stayed 2 nights. The host is very friendly and super helpful. It's a good room for the price, convenient location in a great area. I had a great deal for bike rental. If you want to cycle around, ask Vinny, he will help you out, renting his own bikes.
Vinny was great! He was very welcoming and very knowledgeable about the city, its layout, the neighborhoods, and its history. He set us up to have a great weekend in Berlin. The room and apartment in general is also very cozy and homey, my girlfriend and I loved it, and highly recommend staying here. Thanks, Vinny!
Vinny was an amazing host! As soon as I walked in, he showed me a giant sized map mural on his wall and oriented me to the city. Then he gave me a pocket map that is perfect for Berlin, and spent about 20 minutes just welcoming me to the city and showing me things I might like to do. Apartment is quiet, comfortable, AMAZING location, 5 minute walk to S bahn, clean and kitchen is great.
Whats great about Vinny is that he's super good at judging when you wanna talk and when you don't- he gave me the perfect amount of information, and let me do my own thing. Great host.
He speaks Spanish, English and German, and is amazingly amiable. Can't beat this spot or the Host.
