The Space

The small but comfortable PRIVATE DOUBLE ROOM is located in a 2 bedroom apartment on the ground floor facing the inner courtyard of a renovated 70's DDR building. Located only a few steps away from the Spree river and serviced by a supermarket, bakery, and 2 late night shops at the corner. There is also a huge shopping centre across the bridge.

The flat consists of 2 bedrooms (I occupy one of them), hallway, a small but fully functional kitchen, and bathroom. The wooden floors, high ceilings and central heating provide a clean and relaxing setting to rest after a busy day out.

The idea is for you to feel at home. You get clean bed-sheets and towels, full use of the kitchen, bathroom and washing machine.

The room has Wi-Fi, its own key to the door, a big wardrobe, a double bed (140x200), and a small table and chair.

Interaction with Guests

Coffee and tea are free of charge, along with my humble tips and advice!

  • Vinnie is a top notch guy. Wanted to make us feel at home and explain about the
Hotspots in Berlin. There are no complicated rules. The room, kitchen and bathroom are clean and had all things we needed. Perfect place to stay if you like East Berlin. It's near the Club Zur Wilden Renate and other underground clubs in Berlin.

  • Nice place. Nice guy. Had no problems of any sort while I was there, was very flexible on everything and directions, rules were specific and clear.

  • Being at Vinny's has been really comfortable.. The place is clean and even if it is small still you have all you need to be relaxed and enjoy the staing. We couldn't meet Vinny by person but he was there to fix everything in such a way that we had no problems. We met a friend of Vinny, Deborah. She is a so kind girl always ready to help us with right suggestions and good advices about the city sights.
    Really worth to contact Vinny!!!

  • Thanks to the arrangement of Vinny as well as the warm reception and introduction of Debora. Good location of the flat, easy access to S-bahn Bhf. We had a very good experience staying in Berlin. Highly recommend!

  • Even though I didn't meet Vinny he was a fantastic host. The weeks before I arrived and while I was there he was immediately responsive to any email question or request that I sent him. His instructions on how to get to his apartment were clear and thorough. I arrived from Berlin Schonefeld and it was so easy to get to his apartment. The apartment is easily accessible by a direct train from the airport to Ostkreuz or Treptower Park. Being my first time arrival to Berlin late at night was no problem with his excellent directions.
The apartment was clean, safe and basic and great value for the price. The location was free of tourists, which I like, and the immediate neighborhood was quiet, with a grocery store conveniently a block away. Ostkreuz is a great stop to have access to anywhere in Berlin. The local neighborhood was a lot of fun in this dynamic city, and showed how progressive and lively this part of Berlin has become. This location is for people who want a real experience of Berlin where life with locals is conducted. My favorite sight was seeing people bringing their well behaved dogs on public transportatiion. I would come back to Vinny's place if I ever return to Berlin. To me this is the most exciting City in Europe.

  • A very clean place with a good location yet very quiet at night. Vinny was on work travels (of which he wasn't aware of at the time of booking) while we stayed at his apartment. He arrange his neighbor to show the apartment and give us any tips we wanted to know. So special thank goes to Debora also. Recommendations!

  • We had a nice time at Vinny's place. The place could have been a little bit cleaner but Vinny left in a hurry because of work. We've had the place to ourselves so we could enjoy our privacy. The area Friedrichshain was nice with a barstreet and had an urban vibe. We preferred Prenzlauerberg, nicer buildings and a more classy vibe. Communication with Vinny was perfect even though we never met him in person. His friend Debora welcomed us. If you're looking for a budget place and you wish to stay in the Friedrichshain area then Vinny is a great option. HOWEVER : Only a shame that he can't cope with a little critism and feels the need to slander our profile after this (not so incredibly bad)review... Also a bit surprising because he responded in a very nice and respectful manner via email when we gave him the same requested feedback (there were a couple of things but we didn't make a big deal, we're not that highmaintenance or picky.. just advised to get rid of some dirty things for the next guests) A bit twofaced, sadly.Four out of five stars, perfectionism is a bitch...apparently...:-)

  • Vinny is a great host-very warm and friendly, quick to respond and flexible. Great communication and he gave us all the necessary info for our stay. We stayed just one night for a concert, but the place was nice and clean and made our two days in Berlin much more enjoyable.
