About this listing
SPECIAL PRICE for limited time only!
The small but comfortable apartment is located right next to the Spree river, in a renovated building, on the ground floor, behind a quiet backyard.
The flat consists of 2 double bedrooms, hallway, a small but fully functional kitchen, and bathroom. One of 2 bedrooms is closed off, as this used to be my bedroom and I still use it as storage, but you get the rest of the flat to yourself. The wooden floors, high ceilings and central heating provide a clean and relaxing setting to rest after a busy day out.
Full access to the apartment (except for my former bedroom)
Friedrichshain is arguably the most exciting neighbourhood in Berlin. While its busiest spots are just a short walk away, the flat itself is on a quiet street. There is also a supermarket at the corner.
The nearby Ostkreuz S-Bahn station is a strategic transport hub which provides easy and quick access to any part of the city, both its airports, and all railroad routes.
There are many options for public transport, but basically:
Schönefeld Airport: 35' with S9.
Tegel Airport: 49' with Bus TXL + S42.
Berlin Ostbahnhof: 13' with S7
Berlin Südkreuz: 18' with S42
Berlin Hauptbahnhof: 30' with S7
Bus Station: ZOB am Funkturm / Messe Nord: 48' with S42
* You get more detailed directions when you book.
Osktreuz S-Bahn station: 7' walk.
Some S-Bahn travel times from Ostkreuz station to:
U-Bahn Warschauer Str. : 4'
Alexander Platz: 10'
Kottbusser Tor: 15'
Brandenburg Gate: 18'
Potsdamer Platz: 20'
Four buses also stop nearby:
•N94 (night bus)
Other Things to Note
Parking: Our street is just outside the city's Umweltzone. So parking on the street is free and you don't need the LEZ sticker either ;)
IMPORTANT, READ ENTIRELY!
Check-in: After 13:00
Check-out: Before 12:00 (noon/midday).
The building and apartment doors have a device which allow me to open the doors remotely, with my phone.
If you come between 12:00 and 13:00, you will find me there, as this when I do the cleaning. If you come after 13:00, I won't be home, but will open the doors remotely. When you reach the building, simply make a missed call to my mobile phone: I will call you back, open the doors, and guide you trough the house.
If you arrive in the morning, I can give you directions to luggage lockers near the house. Please ask and I will email you a PDF with a picture guide.
Once you are here:
I beg guests to take shoes off at the entrance, so you might want to bring some slippers/flip-flops/extra pair of clean shoes.
No smoking around the house, except for the kitchen (closed door & open window).
Unfortunately the use of P2P software in Germany is punished by law, so in order to get the Wi-Fi password I will ask you to sign a piece of paper where you agree NOT to do so. I hate having to do this, but fines go up to EUR 5000!
From Aug 2 - 3, 2015 the minimum stay is 1 night.
Vinny made us feel very welcome and greeted us on arrival with a very informative map with all the cool streets to visit. The listing was accurate to his description it was central to some really cool bars, restaurants and clubs.
It was very clean, nice and quite and cosy. It was only a short 5 min walk to the nearest station. It took only 20 to get to the Reishtag, Brandenburg gate.
Vinny gave me and my boyfriend a great first week experience in berlin! He shown us the area on the map and some useful tips and advice as a foreigner.
Lidl is near to the apartment, very convenient!
Vinny is very organised and clean, he shared us everything in the house, the room is exactly how it shown in the photos, the description to the apartment are very detail, there should not be problem getting there.
However the town nearby aren't that attractive.
Hi Vinny Thanks for your good hosting and the time you took to guide us around in Berlin . Thanks again for your great hospitality
Best regards Lene and Paw
Great place to stay. Vinny was really informative and gave us tons of info on how to get around the city, what to see and the best places to eat and drink. Easily the most helpful host I've stayed with
Awesome host! Had SO much information and details about the city and his neighboorhood. Very friendly and funny. The metro is also very close to his home, so very convenient. The experience with him was well and I do recommend this hostel!
Our host Vinny was great. The place is cozy and well equipped with easy access. House instructions were clearly detailed. I confirm all the positive reviews & highly recommend Vinny's.
In addition I try to mention a few other points: The instruction says you are required to make a phone call to get in, however we were given a set of keys to enter, which was a relief.
The room does not have ventilation system, so I recommend having the window open while inside.
The mattress was a little soft for us.
Thank you Vinny for everything & your recommendation on restaurants were spot on :)
