Light + bright + relaxed.
Perfect for small groups, the house offers two bedrooms, a kitchen, living area, dining room, and a library/office.
It can sleep four provided at least two people don't mind sharing a bed: the master bedroom has a Queen and a private entrance; the other bedroom has two twin beds, a TV and a Roku: it's the "fun" room.
You're welcome to use the well-stocked kitchen, Internet, TV, and porch. We're in walking distance to just about everything in Marfa. Although everything is walking distance to everything in Marfa :)
For being over a hundred years old with old wood floors and high ceilings, the house is in good shape. That said, sometimes the corners get a little dusty and we do see the occasional spider. West Texas Charm all the way.
A very cute dog named the Nugget lives here most of the time, but she will be gone during your stay. If you'd like to bring a pet it's most likely not a problem, but let's talk about it first.
This listing is for the whole house - 1800 sq feet give or take. There's also a fenced-in yard and a little firepit you're welcome to use (carefully of course) as long as there's no burn ban in effect.
Other Things to Note
I'd really appreciate it if you could please send an inquiry before making a full-on reservation request, especially if you're requesting dates that are marked as unavailable or have questions. And of course I am happy to answer any questions you may have! Thank you!
This is my home - the best + most basic rule here is the golden rule.
Katie's home is charming, and she's put a lot of thought into decorating it beautifully. The meet-and-greet mini tour was helpful and covered just about any questions we might have had. Beds and linens were comfy. Kitchen was well-outfitted. W/D was a plus; it allowed me to pack lighter. WiFi worked great. Our 3-day stay was great; I'd stay again, anytime!
Katherine the owner was wonderful she walked us thru the house and explained all the little quirky things to make our stay enjoyable. I love old houses so there is always a quirk or two! This was a lovely space to just relax. We love the light in Marfa and the house had beautiful light all day. We walked everywhere once we arrived so very convenient . Also very quiet we heard no trains which is unusual for Marfa as we always here them. The stay made for a lovely long weekend.
Katie Rose is an excellent host: personable, accommodating, and with a great space to make you feel at home in Marfa. We stayed for 5 nights, and got to know the town first and foremost by making the most of her beautiful home: an excellent record collection, clawfoot bath, spacious rooms and study.
Definitely stay here if you can! It situates you perfectly within the Marfa community while still making you feel at home.
Katherine's house is a dream! Clean, beautiful, stylish, comfortable. We loved staying there. Highly recommended! Katherine was an excellent host!
This gem was truly "home sweet Marfa home" during our stay. The historic house was clean and cozy, with plenty of space to accommodate three people. It was close to so many amenities and venues around town, and we were very comfortable playing board games and singing over a firepit in the big backyard, too.
In short, we would definitely stay again--Katy Rose was an incredibly hospitable and kind hostess, and we are so thankful to her for making our trip a memorable, great experience!
Katherine's house was perfect. Beautiful, spacious and comfortable. Everything we needed as well as an incredible record collection! Great location, walk to everything.
The house is large and photographs well and is within bike or walking distance to everything.
