The Space

Guests have exclusive use of a bedroom with queen size bed with a down comforter and optional wool blankets. The upstairs of the house is occupied by a quiet tenant with a separate entrance.

Floors are hardwood, and heat is electric baseboard with thermostats in each room. The kitchen is simple - electric stove, no dishwasher. There is a gas grill in the back yard. The bathroom is also simple, but the shower has a great shower head and good pressure. The living room has a comfortable black leather couch. Wi-fi is available, and there is no cable t.v.

No pets will share the space with you. I do not have pets, but there is a dog that visits when I am there.

Guest Access

Guests will have use of the adjacent bathroom (which is shared), living room, galley kitchen and dining room.

Interaction with Guests

Often the house can also be used exclusively, but occasionally I will be staying in another bedroom and sharing the common space - check in if you would like to know.

The Neighborhood

The house is on a quiet cul-de-sac, with access to hiking trails nearby. Parking is available in the driveway or on the street. It's less than two miles through residential neighborhoods to downtown. Access to the Animas River and the river trail is a few blocks away.

There are several restaurants within a half mile on north Main, and downtown's shops and restaurants are less than two miles south on Main Street. The city's very nice rec center is a few blocks away as well.

This home is a great place to use as a center of operations for exploring Durango's downtown as well as skiing, hiking, biking and water sport opportunities.

Getting around

I have a couple of spare get-around-town bikes, and the house is near a couple of bus lines.

  • We loved Molly's place. It was perfect for our stay in Durango. The house had everything we needed. The bedroom was comfortable and the bathroom was just fine. I personally loved all of Molly's art and folk art found thought out her house. The best part was talking to Molly. We had insightful conversations which I really enjoyed. If we return to Durango, we will definitely be back at Molly's place!

  • Hi everyone I stayed at Molly's. We did not meet but she was very responsive to messages. Our room was comfortable and attached to a restroom. She left out maps granola and coffee. Also the her home is very nicely located to historic downtown and easy access to all the best Durango has to offer.

  • Molly's home is in a quiet neighborhood and just what we needed. It is clean, neat, comfortable and had everything we needed. It was close to downtown with necessary stores for shopping not far away. Although we did not take advantage of the opportunity, Molly left her bikes for us to use. I definitely would stay at Molly's again!

  • Molly's place is great on nice, quiet block. Although I did not meet her, she set out granola (honestly, the best I've ever had) and coffee for the morning which I thought was a really nice touch. Her communication was excellent. I would definitely stay again.

  • Molly and her sweet daughter were there the first night only. They were entirely welcoming and easy. My husband and I stayed there, and our room was private, clean, comfortable and simple, as was the house. The neighborhood was very peaceful yet five minutes from town. We had the use of two simple, excellent bikes, with baskets, so I was able to ride the River Trail to a meeting I was attending at the Doubletree every day. Absolutely fantastic! Molly was away for the rest of our time there which gave us really important time together (it was our anniversary) especially on the weekend when our conference was finished. My husband was able to be in the house and accomplish a lot of work in privacy for the days I was in my conference. The whole setup was ideal for our visit.

  • Molly wasn't there when we stayed at her home. We needed to text her a couple of times and she was very prompt responding to us.
We loved the quiet neighborhood. It was nice to walk around and nice to drive thru. Durango is a fun little city. And it's beautiful with the Animas River flowing right thru it. Early summer is a nice time to go.
Also, we appreciated all the literature Molly put out on the table all about Durango and surrounding areas-very helpful.

  • Our stay at Molly's was our first experience with airbnb in general. Although Molly was not around during our stay, she communicated very clearly us so that we knew what to expect. Molly was very responsive and friendly in her communications. The interaction felt professional, yet Molly struck me as trusting and open-minded. It was a good first airbnb experience and it will not be our last! We were grateful.

  • Molly was easy to communicate with via email and she offered her cell number as well. Though we didn't meet in person, she was accommodating by letting us know where everything we might need was and lent us maps and brochures! Coffee, tea and home made granola were available. Her home is very sweet, in a cute neighborhood, very comfortable. You can hear the creek just beyond her driveway. Great place! Great stay!

I cook a lot! Guests may well be treated to homemade granola and artisan fresh bread. I laugh AND flinch when I watch "Portlandia" because it's basically making fun of me. I have a great time in Durango and am happy to share my restaurant and activity preferences through my Airbnb guidebook or personally, when you arrive.
