Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
a bright serene space built by us on the property we live on. we are in - what we think - is the most beautiful region of the Hudson River Valley - surrounded by pastoral beauty and dramatic landscapes all around. 6 quaint towns are within 10-25 minutes drive.

please read the entire description & rules before booking • beyond 2 guests, the rate adds 50$/night/per person • please add dogs (2 max. 50$/per dog) when booking (no cats) • we look forward to having you here!

The space
Full of light and divisions created by old window sashes, the space holds an open feeling while still harboring hidden nooks for curling up with a good book. The big windows face an upward sloping meadow, a veritable bird sanctuary much of the year. The interior is serene with a cozy fireplace for winter. The space encourages both reflection and clarity.

Note on number of guests: We state 5 as a maximum. This has worked well for families and larger tight knit groups of friends. Less tight knit groups should study the space carefully: the upper bedroom interacts somewhat freely with the upstairs space, and upstairs footsteps can be heard in the downstairs bedroom.

SAME DAY BOOKINGS: Please contact us first to make sure we can have the space available on time (probably it would be!)

Dogs are charged at a rate of 50$/per dog/per stay. We welcome dogs (up to two per guest) who are well-behaved, quiet and do not shed excessively. Please also note additional requirements for dogs in the house rules. Thank you!

• EV charger: Please guestimate and contribute to the donation box for the amount of electricity drawn. It works for J1772 (non-Teslas) and Teslas.

Guest access
The barn is a private space with two entrances, the main one being the sliding doors on the deck facing the meadow.

Other things to note
• We ask that cooking steaks, meats or anything emitting smoke or greasy aerosols be cooked outdoors on one of the grills. Alternatively, the oven or the 7-mode air-fryer can also cook pretty much anything!
• Our home and one neighbor is visible to the south and west of the barn (please see photos); in winter parts of the homes of two other neighbors are visible in the distance.
• We ready the queen beds in each bedroom. The queen sized daybed and queen sized fold-out couch in main room are left unmade but with sheets and bedding provided, which need to be put on for night-time use if you plan to use them.
• We are officially in the town of Gallatin, though we have to put down Red Hook as that is our mailing address. We are 14 minutes to the village of Red Hook and 7 minutes to Pine Plains.
- We are a zoned b&b (barn & bike, llc) with a second unit connected to our home, also often rented out - usually two couples who in most likelihood you will never see!
- We offer 2 titanium touring bikes as rentals (35$/4 hours/per bike). See barn & bike, llc for more info on them and the cycling in the area.
• We provide enough firewood for about 3-4 fires. Unfortunately, due to rising costs, if you want more, a big firewood bag can be refilled with wood from the carport for $30. Thank you for understanding!
• If needed, additional soap and toiletries can be found in the downstairs utility room closet.
• We are in the country and by a meadow. Sensitivity (allergies and asthma) to pollen or bees should be taken into consideration. Let us know of any bee nests that are bothersome and we will remove. Regular tick checks are encouraged as well!
• The water is here is of excellent quality. We encourage drinking it. (No need to buy bottled water!)

A couple and our nearly grown up children, we are grateful to live in this beautiful, dramatic, yet pastoral area. We cobble together and juggle jobs and passions to make a pretty decent life. Definitely we are into art and an eclectic range of music and food.
