Views Galore-just like a treehouse

House - Private room · Lakeview Way, Emerald Lake Hills, CA 94062, United States

The Space

This bedroom is very private, with full windows on 3 sides and a quaint private bathroom. Queen sized bed. You'll want to stay up all night just looking out over the Bay--you can see from Oakland to the Dumbarton Bridge. The sunrises can be epic!

The house was built in 1929 as a summer home for people in SF. It has been added onto over the years to become a lovely residence sitting in a great park-like setting of 1.2 acres.

We are convenient to 280 and 101, just up the hill from Redwood City and fairly close to Stanford University in Palo Alto. 1/2 hr from San Francisco or San Jose.

With advance notice I can turn on the hot tub. It's right outside the bedroom door. For your lazing pleasure there are adirondack chairs under the redwood trees. A peaceful grotto!

You will probably need to have your own car, however taxi service is available. Full use of kitchen and other common areas allowed. There is NO smoking allowed AT ALL.
Just a mile from the house is a coffee place, a couple of restaurants, nail/hair/workout places and gasoline/car repair and dry cleaners. Good running/walking trails nearby.

  • My overnight visit with Catherine and son, Michael, was my first Air B&B experience. I was a little unsure about staying in someone's home, but her reviews were excellent and I thought I would give it a try. Hello! What a fabulous time. The bed was comfy, the room was clean, and I could have all the privacy I wanted - or, I could join them for dinner at the Spaghetti Factory, which I did. Cath and Michael are warm, lively people. I got a driving tour of downtown Redwood City (beautiful!) and all sorts of interesting pieces of local information. In the morning, she gave me coffee made to order on her Italian machine and driving directions to my destination. The dogs are calm and obedient and never in your way. I will definitely be going back to visit my new friends, Cath and Michael!

  • We just moved to town and it was nice to have a comfortable place to stay while we explored the area for our permanent home. Cath was warm and welcoming to my boyfriend, myself and our beloved pets. Comfortable bed, beautiful view, and very relaxing environment. The well equipped kitchen and gourmet coffee center was a nice touch.

  • Wonderful stay at the Treehouse. Cath was easy-going, welcoming, and a great conversationalist. I loved waking up in the room, surrounded by windows on three sides that overlooked the oak trees and the views of the hills and Bay. Slept well on a comfortable bed and had a small desk to write in the morning. I regret that I didn't have time to explore the amazing terraced grounds -- lots of inviting spaces. Even though I only "cooked" a bowl of cereal and tea, it was great to have access to the kitchen. My experience was a positive one.

  • Cath's "treehouse" room was perfect. Enjoyed the views, the hospitality, the company, and the ambiance. What an eclectic property! Cath made us feel welcome and comfortable. Stay here if you want reprieve from the boundaries of a mundane world ; )

  • Wonderful room and an amazing host. One of the reasons why I picked a room instead of an entire apartment for our stay was to socialize and this stay exceeded by our expectations. Cath and all other guests who are at the house were very welcoming and nice. They included us in their dinner plans and a card game afterwards, great experience overall.

  • Cath is a super easy going host, her place is conveniently located and yet provides privacy and cool solitude. We stay @Cath's whenever the opportunity arises.

About
The house is perched atop 1.2 acres with an amazing unobstructed view stretching from Oakland to the Dumbarton Bridge. Trying semi-successfully to grow veggies, yet my garden is lovely---my dogs have the run of the place. Please consider me an excellent resource for the area, as I've lived here for over 20 yrs. and am well connected. I love most music and am a HUGE fan of the Monkee's (so don't hold that against me). Born in Oklahoma yet have travelled quite a bit and have lived in many places. BTW-- In this house we practice the golden rule.
