About this listing
This bedroom is very private, with full windows on 3 sides and a quaint private bathroom. Queen sized bed. You'll want to stay up all night just looking out over the Bay--you can see from Oakland to the Dumbarton Bridge. The sunrises can be epic!
The house was built in 1929 as a summer home for people in SF. It has been added onto over the years to become a lovely residence sitting in a great park-like setting of 1.2 acres.
We are convenient to 280 and 101, just up the hill from Redwood City and fairly close to Stanford University in Palo Alto. 1/2 hr from San Francisco or San Jose.
With advance notice I can turn on the hot tub. It's right outside the bedroom door. For your lazing pleasure there are adirondack chairs under the redwood trees. A peaceful grotto!
You will probably need to have your own car, however taxi service is available. Full use of kitchen and other common areas allowed. There is NO smoking allowed AT ALL.
Just a mile from the house is a coffee place, a couple of restaurants, nail/hair/workout places and gasoline/car repair and dry cleaners. Good running/walking trails nearby.
Guests have full access to all common areas--garden, patio, living and dining areas, kitchen use too.
Interaction with Guests
My interaction with you is all up to you! There may be other guests too and I find most everyone to be fascinating and wonderful.
It is a couple of miles to downtown but feels as if we are in the country. You could walk one mile down hill (and 1 mile back UP hill) to find a couple of restaurants and a coffee place.
Other Things to Note
Note that I have 4 rooms that could be occupied at any given time and the people staying here are always fabulous. If you like dogs, this is a wonderful home. My dogs are super friendly and well behaved. Many people have returned because they love my pets!
Follow the golden rule. Clean up after yourself and don't make too much noise late at night. There is coffee/tea available to you. Great conversations if you'd like, or just privacy in your own space.
