This third floor (31 steps!) bedroom with adjacent full bath is located in Aspinwall, just across the Allegheny River from the city of Pittsburgh. It was founded in 1892 as a refuge for those seeking a partial escape from the thick clouds of smoke that blanketed Pittsburgh day and night. It has brick streets and retains a village-like atmosphere with many old stately houses, restaurants, banks, shops, movie theaters, etc. all within walking distance. The bus stops three blocks from our house and will get you to downtown Pittsburgh in 30 minutes, and in a bit less time to Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh and the Carnegie Museums. We are 10 minutes from the Pittsburgh Zoo.
Amenities include full bathroom (shower/tub), WiFi Internet access, local TV, queen bed, on-and-off street parking.
We are in our early 60's and are both recently retired (Dan from the (website hidden), Ellen from the University of Washington in Seattle). Dan was born and raised here and both he and Ellen will be delighted to offer suggestions regarding restaurants, sights, and shopping based upon your own interests. We are happy to share our place with travelers in need of a moderately priced place to stay in The Steel City!

A truly wonderful place to stay with lovely hosts, for whom nothing was to much trouble to ensure we had an amazing time. Would have liked to stay longer.
Ellen and Dan were great hosts: knew the answer to all my questions and knew when to let me relax and take it easy. My room was very comfortable and included everything I needed. If I ever have the opportunity, I would stay with them again.
My wife and I had the pleasure of spending four nights at Ellen and Dan's very charming home in Aspinwall. Their home is tidy, cozy, inviting, and very comfortable. We had the third floor bedroom with private bath to ourselves. Our accomodations were immaculate. Ellen and Dan provided us with a made-to-order breakfast each morning. Delicious!!! Superlatives are inadequate to describe the gracious hospitality of our hosts. We look forward to our next stay.

We contacted Dan and Ellen at the last minute due to a change in our plans and they graciously accommodated us in their beautiful home in the charming community of Aspinwall. We found the spacious bedroom and private bath tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Dan and Ellen are perfect hosts. They are kind, interesting to talk with, and, truthfully, they made our stay most enjoyable! The breakfast was delicious, too.
I stayed at Ellen and Dans BnB for 3 nights as I moved from DC to Pittsburgh. I cannot emphasize how accommodating they were. I had a pretty tight schedule because of work, but they made my transition to Pittsburgh as smooth as possible. They also had a lot of recommendations of places to go in and around the city. Overall, it was a great experience and would recommend it to anyone.
Ellen and Dan are great hosts and offered a comfortable bedroom with sitting area and private bath for our stay of 3 nights. The space was exactly as described and had the privacy of being on the top floor of their beautiful home!
A variety of choices was offered for breakfast and served in the dining room accompanied by music and the morning paper. A wonderful start to our busy days in town!
Parking was convenient on the neighborhood street near the house. A short drive took us into Downtown, Shadyside, Oakland and The Strip.
Aspinwall is a safe, vibrant village community with small local businesses and a lot of civic pride. It shows in its clean, walkable streets, well kept homes and attractive storefronts.
Thanks, Ellen and Dan, for a Delightful Stay in the 'Burgh!
