We stayed in Chiang Mai for three days to explore the city. The hotel was perfectly located in the middle of the old town for temples, food and the Sunday walking street. David was very hospitable, helped us find transport and gave us a map of nice things to see on our way to Doi Suthep. We had a wonderful day on motorbike. His accomodation is nice and practical, but you need to be able to walk many flights of stairs. We had a wonderful stay at David's and would like to come again.
Great vibe here. Some maintanance noise dueing the day, but that only affexts those that sleep in late. David was always accomadating, and assisted me with the area, attractions, etc. he has motors and bikes to rent and is right in the middle of the old city.
David was fantastic, full of honesty, char and a smile. He really "knows" Chiang Mai and how to enjoy it best and how to deal with the Thai way of life (e.g. Thai time does NOT equal US time). He upgraded our room to a spacious area o the top floor and also allowed us to have a business meeting during the day in the restaurant downstairs. You can really tell he loves what he does and enjoys helping his residents to enjoy their time. Him and his staff also enjoyed feeding me possibly the spiciest soup in the history of the world one late night as we drank beer and slowly turned beet red. Above all that, the location simply cannot be beat, it's literally in the heart of the entertainment area, on the Sunday Night street market, and steps from multiple temples. The rooms are simple of course, but literally they exist for your air conditioner needs and a place to crash after a long day of discovering Chiang Mai!
The room is perfectly located in old town Chiang Mai next to some great restaurants and coffee shops.
It provides everything you need for a pleasant stay and was clean.
David was a great host and offered help whenever requested.
A small guest house ideally located. David is very helpful and accommodating.
David's hotel is well located in the old city area of Chiang Mai. It is clean and recently renovated (with the last of the renovations underway - but there was no noise or disturbance from these). David is friendly and around the hotel a lot, so helpfully able to answer questions and give tips about the city.
Fantastic location, the weekend market comes to you and it's right next to what we feel is the most impressive Wat in Chiang Mai so far (Wat Chedi Luang). Very small room but it's very clean and has everything you could ever need. Our only complaint was some loud construction going on in the next room on the day we checked in since we were exhausted after our 15 hour train ride and just wanted to go to sleep but there was no more construction on the rest of our stay so that was very appreciative and kind of them to halt until we left. When the project is done, it will be beautiful and you can tell that David has put a lot of love and effort into making this room a cozy place. He's a great host with an awesome place in the Old City...
David's place is very central. David has been very kind with us and he helped us in the organization. A very good place where staying in Chiang Mai.
Great place in a great location. David and his extremely friendly and helpful staff made my month stay at the Hotel California very comfortable and like i was at home. If you want a guesthouse right in the center of the tourist area with bars, restaurants, massage and live music right at your door then this is the place you want to stay. Right on the sunday walking street you have Thailand's best cuisine and crafts easily accessible to you. The hotel is very modern design and very clean as well.
