This charming upper level apartment space is perfect for a weekend getaway. The property is available for relaxing, talking with the chickens and sheep, and just enjoying the views. A small kitchenette can service your cooking needs. It is heated and air conditioned. Views are amazing.
Space is above a yarn studio. My hand dyed yarn, fiber, art, jewelry and scarves are available for purchase.
An hours drive from Washington puts you in our rural area. Historic Frederick is 15 miles away.

The space
This studio apartment is located on a small farm (2 sheep, 8 chickens, 2 cats) in a rural preserve near Washington, DC. Newly built bathroom with big shower. Beautiful views surround the studio, with Sugarloaf Mountain nearby. Peace and quiet, a breath of fresh air and a relaxing atmosphere greet you here. You have access to the 2 acres of trees, gardens, patio, small pond and of course the views. I would prefer no animals but if you have a well behaved dog that does not sleep on furniture or beds, I will consider, but please contact me. I will charge an addition fee of $15. For long term stays, no pets. Also for long term stays, only one person in space. No couples.
Rule: Absolutely no parties. Sorry, this is not an event place. No guests during your stay. No smoking anywhere on property without permission.

Guest access
Access to entire property including patio, gardens.

Other things to note
The surrounding area is wonderful for hiking, biking, kayaking, shopping in Frederick. I can give recommendations for all.
The C&O Canal is just 4 miles away and I can pick you up and shuttle you to my home or you can ride here.

Neighborhood highlights

We are located in an agricultural preserve so it's rural which means it's very peaceful and quiet. I have three sheep and 6 chickens (farm fresh eggs!) and three friendly dogs. Wineries and a brewery are nearby. Historic Frederick is just 15 miles away. For outdoor activities, there's hiking on Sugarloaf Mountain, bicycling on the many backroads, mountain biking at a mountain bike park, or biking on the
C & O Canal (3 miles away). The Monocacy River and Potomac River and 3 miles away offering fishing, kayaking and canoeing.

My work: Dyer of art yarn.
Fun fact: I hitch hiked across America
I have an easy going personality and welcome everyone with open arms. I am an artist and yarn dyer with a cottage studio on my farm. My yarn and paintings are available in the studio. I'm an avid cyclist, hiker, camper, kayaker and can give good recommendations for fun activities. I've traveled extensively and always up for more adventures. I love DIY projects, helped build this studio and have had a vintage furniture business refinishing furniture.
