Why We Think Bouldin Is Best:
Bouldin is great! The neighborhood-y, 'South Austin Funky' vibe is unmatched. We love that you can walk to Zilker park for a day festival, or to take a dip in Barton Springs pretty much year 'round. We love that neighbors sit on their front porches and neighbors say "howdy" when you walk by. And we love being able to walk or bike to fantastic, hip new restaurants and vintage clothing stores on S. 1st Street and S. Congress Ave. There is always something going on and the people couldn't be friendlier. Bouldin is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Austin for its great oak trees, new library, parks, bars, airstream trailer food finds and proximity to SoCo, downtown and Zilker Park. We also like how close it is to Lamar, Mopac, and 71 for easy commuting around and out of town. Bouldin can't be beat for a vacation destination and it's super family-friendly. There are parks galore, including 2 splash pads that are walking distance and summer art classes for little ones at the Dougherty Art Center. Plus, almost every bar/restaurant within a mile is family-friendly.
You can catch a bus at the CapMetro bus stop 1 1/2 blocks east for an inexpensive and easy way to access downtown. You can also pretty much walk or bike to anything cool you want to do in the 'hood in less than 15 minutes.

The house was exactly as pictured and described: comfortable, spacious, clean, nicely decorated. Very quiet residential neighborhood, adequate parking and the lovely sound of the train passing by down the road, a few times a day. Great location, loved staying here!
This home was exactly as is shown through pictures, maybe even cuter in person. It is spacious and decorated perfectly, very warm and inviting. The beds are comfortable and the water pressure in the showers are perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed the darling neighborhood surrounding the bungalow and hope to return on our next visit to Austin.
Really cool neighborhood and great location. The house description was very accurate. Kat made us feel welcome and it made for a great weekend with friends in Austin.
Sweet house, great neighborhood, great hostess.
Absolutely everything was exactly as described. A little noisy in the morning with home construction across the street but, looked like they're about done.
When the remote to the Roku disappeared, Kat (our hostess) replaced the entire system with a new Apple TV unit. She was great.
The neighborhood is very quiet with an eclectic and lively scene of great restaurants, coffee joints, food trucks, etc, within a few blocks. The location is perfect in that it's perfectly situated to easily get pretty much anywhere in Austin.
Bottom line, 4 thumbs up (2 of mine and 2 of my sister's).
Kat was an incredible host and her Bungalow was PERFECT! Great (email hidden)e minute we dropped off our bags, we put on our running shoes and headed to Juiceland for a smoothie and a jog at Zilker Park. A perfect Austin evening. The house itself is immaculately clean, charming, and outfitted with a comfy hammock on a screened-in porch. Our stay couldn't have been better!
This house was perfect for our "girl's weekend"! It was so welcoming and absolutely adorable.
I put up four artists in the house during a music festival I host in Austin. The artists loved their stay and were very comfortable. The house is impeccably clean and the beds / bedding are super comfortable. The artists had 0 complaints and only nice things to say about their stay in the house. Kat and I had a difficult time meeting up in person (so I could take a look at the place in person before renting) because of our schedules - but once we did meet, she addressed all of my concerns clearly, professionally and friendly. Overall, this was a good experience.
