About This Listing
Hello Travelers! Welcome to Seattle! First, I want to thank you for taking the time to read my entire site. I believe all this information will be of great benefit to you if you are looking for a nice area to stay in Seattle. This is a room in a house. I also have a private suite with twin beds. It is approx. 20 mins non-peak hr. from the Seatac Airport and 5 mins from downtown by car. You can park in front of the house. I will have a pass for you so you can park for free all day. Most parts of the Hill is metered parking. This is a room near the Volunteer Park area, upper Capitol Hill, most desirable area to live in in Seattle. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, flexible check-in and check-out times, a neighborhood known for its diversity and entertainment and a friendly host, you have come to the right place. It's real easy to get to my place.
**To get a quick approval, please upload 3 good close-ups of your face to your AirBNB profile and a check-in time for me when you request a room. You will be declined immediately if there's not a photo and check-in time.
***Cancellation policy: strict (very strict)
If you don't get an immediate response from me, it's because you don't have a good photo and check-in time. This is safety for guests staying here. This is also an Airbnb recommendation. I have 4 photos on my profile. You know how it is, make- up vs. no make-up, hair up or down. You might not see all photos if you're using Airbnb app for the iPhone. Use an iPad or desktop.
It makes sense that you would want to know what your host looks like before you book and I should have no problem recognizing you as my guest when you arrive at my door if there is a clear profile photo of you.
I do not go by your verification with Airbnb, it does not confirm for me who you are. I would rather have a clear photo of your face and head. No sunglasses or hats. A color photo please.
If you try to give me your social media site or work website Airbnb will BLOCK it. Same with telephone numbers and emails.
After you pay:
Once payment is complete you will receive confirmation with my address, phone number and more detailed directions to my place from Airbnb. I prefer all communications right here, texting or a call to my cell phone. I do not call or text outside of the U.S. If you have a phone, I prefer a call if you have any questions once you have arrived in Seattle.
Transportation to my place:
If you are coming from Seatac airport, you can take the sound transit link to downtown Westlake Station which is the last stop. Look for the Macy's exit (Pine & 4th). The train ride is about 35 minutes. Purchase a one way ticket for $2.75 or you can put any value on an orca card which will be good for buses, street cars, sound transit link, trains and ferries to the islands. You can purchase the card from the sound transit link machine at the airport or a supermarket in my neighborhood.
The orca card costs $5, it might not be worth it if you're just staying a couple days. There's no special discounts on transportation.
From downtown take bus 49 from Pike street and 4th Avenue. It is one street over south of Pine Street. Bus fare is $2.50 or 2.75 (peak fare).
If you prefer a taxi ride from downtown, it takes approximately 10 minutes and a flat fee of $10 from Westlake station. Please confirm with taxi driver for fare.
You can walk from Westlake station, the route is on streets with lots of shops and restaurants. Approx. 30 minutes.

I will need to make a copy of your driver's license or passport for verification as soon as you arrive. No outside visitor's allowed in the house. No cooking in the kitchen because I've had guests complain about the smell. You can use the fridge, microwave and oven. Please take off shoes at the entrance. I would like to keep stairs and floors free from dirty shoes. Slippers will be provided. Thank you for your understanding.
I had a really nice stay at Alexia's place. Alexia was welcoming but gave me plenty of privacy. The house rules are clearly laid out and easy to follow. The bed was very comfortable and the whole apartment was very clean. It's in a great neighborhood. Just a few blocks from all the activity on Broadway but also very close to lovely Volunteer Park.
Great location in a quiet neighborhood yet walking distance from Pike/Broadway nightlife, only a few blocks away. Alexia recommended a few places I could visit considering the time I had before my dinner plans, which made my short trip to Seattle even better.
Alexia was a lovely host, very welcoming. The room was clean and the best part of it was that it was really quiet. Decent neighborhood within walking distance to the Capitol Hill area and close to bus station to downtown. I have absolutely nothing to complain. I would definitely visit her again!
I LOVED my stay at Alexia's place! The room and the bathroom and the kitchen were super clean (I have a thing about cleanliness). The fact that we all take our shoes off and walk around the house with slippers provided by Alexia is awesome. My bed was cozy and very comfortable. The shower head pressure was a bit low but still manageable. Alexia greeted me and was very accommodating with anything I needed. She even gave me her pass to the Asian Museum to use plus a parking pass to park a car. The house is walking distance from the wonderful Capitol Hill neighborhood with lots of coffee shops and restaurants and everything else one may need. I would definitely come back and stay with Alexia the next time I visit Seattle :)
Overall good experience. Great location with clean, quiet facilities.
One point to note - Alexia runs a tight ship with a very detailed system. There should be no surprises - her ad should communicate that quite clearly. But if you are uncomfortable with a lot of rules, then think of going elsewhere.
Alexia was extremely welcoming from day one - my flight was late and she waited up to let me in, which I really appreciated! Her house is immaculate, and very organised - Do's and don't safe clearly outlined when you arrive. She's a wealth of information about all things Seattle, and is more than happy to give you recommendations and tidbits of local knowledge, as well as providing you with anything you might need throughout your stay. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend alexia's place for others - I was extremely comfortable here, and felt lucky to be located in such a fantastic location in seattle!

About the Host, Alexia
After experiencing different Airbnbs in; Europe, Western Asia and Africa, I decided to be a host. As a guest, I like staying in a nice residential area to get a feel of what it's like living as a local. And it is also nice to have the host nearby in case I have any questions. I love traveling and I love sharing with travelers the best of Seattle.
I am here to make sure that you have one of the best AirBNB experiences of your life.
The most important is good communication between you and me. I put a lot of thought into the description of my place because I want to make sure you understand what is offered in this beautiful neighborhood. As for my place, it is minimally decorated for your comfort but tasteful and useful for your needs. I enjoy helping my guests plan their day around town. I do my best to accommodate as I understand that it can be their first and only time that they visit Seattle. I also like to promote Vancouver, BC because it's my favorite city and only 3 hours from here by car. If you're interested, let me know and I'd be happy to help you with your trip to Vancouver.
