Hello Travelers! Welcome to Seattle! First, I want to thank you for taking the time to read my entire site. I believe all this information will be of benefit to you if you stay or not stay with me. It is approx. 20 mins non-peak hr. from the Seatac Airport and 5 mins from downtown by car. This is a room near the Volunteer Park area, upper Capitol Hill, most desirable area to live in in Seattle. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, flexible check-in and check-out times, a neighborhood known for its diversity and entertainment and a friendly host, you have come to the right place. It's real easy to get to my place.
**To get a quick approval, please read the entire description, have a good photo and a check-in time for me when you request a room.
It's so important to have a clear close up photo for your profile. This is also an Airbnb recommendation. If you don't get an immediate response from me, it's because you don't have a good photo. This is safety for guests staying here. I have 5 photos. You know how it is, make- up vs. no make-up, hair up or down.
It makes sense that you would want to know what your host looks like before you book and I should have no problem recognizing you as my guest when you arrive at my door if there is a clear profile photo of you.
I do not go by your verification with Airbnb, it does not confirm for me who you are. I would rather have a clear photo of your face and head. No sunglasses or hats. A color photo please.
If you try to give me your social media site or work website Airbnb will block it. Same with telephone numbers.
Once payment is complete you will receive confirmation with my address, phone number and more detailed directions to my place from Airbnb. I prefer all communications right here, texting or a call to my cell phone. I do not call or text outside of the U.S. If you have a phone, I prefer a call if you have any questions once you have arrived in Seattle.
Transportation to my place:
If you are coming from Seatac airport, you can take the sound transit link to downtown Westlake Station which is the last stop. Look for the Macy's exit (Pine & 4th). The train ride is about 35 minutes. Purchase a one way ticket for $2.75 or you can put any value on an orca card which will be good for buses, street cars, sound transit link, trains and ferries to the islands. You can purchase the card from the sound transit link machine at the airport or a supermarket in my neighborhood.
I don't recommend getting a orca card if you're just staying a couple days.
From downtown take bus 49 from Pike street and 4th Avenue. It is one street over south of Pine Street. Bus fare is $2.25 or 2.75 (rush hour fare).
If you prefer a taxi ride from downtown, it takes approximately 10 minutes and a flat fee of $10 from Westlake station. Please confirm with taxi driver for fare.
You can walk from Westlake station, the route is on streets with lots of shops and restaurants. Approx. 30 minutes.

A mammoth tusk was found at a construction site in South Lake Union and tusk was transported to the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture on the UW campus. We named the tusk "Lulu"
I will need to make a copy of your driver's license or passport for verification as soon as you arrive. No outside visitor's allowed in the house. No cooking in the kitchen because I've had guests complain about the smell. You can use the fridge, microwave and oven. Please take off shoes at the entrance. I would like to keep stairs and floors free from dirty shoes. Slippers will be provided. Thank you for your understanding.
Alexia is great! She welcomed me upon my arrival and gave me a tour of the house. I rented out volunteer room #2, it is in an incredibly beautiful and spacious room I would recommend it to anybody. The entire house is very clean and the restrooms are cleaned daily. Alexia makes her kitchen openly available and the restroom is easy to use among other guests. Public transportation is simple and there are direct routes from her place to downtown which is convenient. Alternatively, you can walk to Pikes Place Market in about 20 mins (I don't think I walk that slow). Overall, I had a wonderful experience.
It's my first Aribnb time and I love it very much! The room is very clean and comfortable. And has a pretty good location. If I will go Seattle again, I will choose this again.
Spacious, well-appointed room, hallway closet was always stocked with fresh towels and linens, and complimentary slippers provided to guests since it's a "no shoes, please" residence. Extremely convenient location, especially if you're relying on walking and public transportation.
All went great. Reliable, open minded, well organized person. Alexia is a great host highly recommended. Apartament was exactlly as descibed, clean, comfty, bright.
I really enjoyed my stay with Alexia. She was able to work with my schedule and fit me in despite the late notice and limited availability. I spent five days in the house split between upstairs and the more private downstairs suite.
The house is bright, clean and organized. Upstairs I appreciated the well defined house rules which made my stay predictable from day one.
I very much enjoyed getting to know Alexia and the other guests while I was there. She showed great interest in getting to know me and made me feel right at home.
I recommend staying here and hope to return.
The house was in a great location. My room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean--water pressure not great though. Alexia was nice. I would recommend this room!
As a host Alexia was attentive, prompt, generous and keeps the rooms used by guests clean and uncluttered. My room was light, pleasant, free of personalization in the form of art or nick nacks, and had everything I needed to be comfortable. The bathroom (which was immaculate) was close across the hall and although shared by another room and the host, was always available at times I cared to use it. There was some sound issue as it is an older home with uninsulated walls and no floor coverings. I felt that I needed to be extra quiet when going to the kitchen or bath so as not to disturb others, but really not a big problem! Thanks for the pleasant stay Alexia :)

After experiencing different Airbnbs in; Europe, Western Asia and Africa, I decided to be a host. As a guest, I like staying in a nice residential area to get a feel of what it's like living as a local. And it is also nice to have the host nearby in case I have any questions. I love traveling and I love sharing with travelers the best of Seattle.
I am here to make sure that you have the best AirBNB experience of your life.
The most important is good communication between you and me. I put a lot of thought into the description of my place because I want to make sure you enjoy your stay in this beautiful neighborhood. My place is minimally decorated for your comfort but tasteful and useful for your needs. I enjoy helping my guests plan their day around town. I do my best to accommodate as I understand that it can be their first and only time that they visit Seattle. I also like to promote Vancouver, BC because it's my favorite city and only 3 hours from here by car. If you're interested, let me know and I'd be happy to help you with your trip to Vancouver.
