The Space

Our home is an updated 1940s era cottage in the historic and trendy Lockeland Springs neighborhood of East Nashville. The cottage includes 2 bedrooms, 1-bathroom, is approximately 1000 sq. ft., & comfortably sleeps up to 5 people.

For sleeping options, we have a queen size pillow top mattress in the master bedroom, a full size Coleman quilted air mattress or twin size real bed for the second bedroom, a couch that converts into a day bed on the sun porch, and a large new couch in the living room if you feel like doing some couch crashing.

Notable features of our home include: open & bright floor plan, 42" plasma TV w/ U-Verse cable service, washer & dryer for use in basement, WIFI Internet access throughout the house, lush privacy fenced back yard (deck w/ outdoor seating, covered swing, etc.), guitars, banjo & other instruments for your inspiration and entertainment, and more. All cooking utensils are provided for use with full size stove, microwave, refrigerator, etc.

We have a large, custom-made farm house dining table with bench seating for up to 10 people in the dining room and a great farm house sink that is the focal point of our bright kitchen. The bathroom is small but updated with a pedestal sink and full size shower, and all linens are provided for the bathroom and bedrooms.

The master bedroom is large for this style of home, has a small flat-screen TV and DVD player, and ample closet space that you're welcome to. There are original hardwoods throughout the house, a front porch and back deck to sip your morning coffee or have an evening cocktail on, a beautiful and ornate (but non-functioning) fireplace in the living room, a sun room/office space with French doors leading to it from the dining room, and much more.

We also have a friendly and older orange tabby cat named Gus who will be at the house during your stay. He eats from an auto-feeder, lets himself in and out of the house through a pet door, and uses a litter box out of the way in the basement that you won't cross paths with. Entirely self-sufficient and sweet, that guy. Previous guests love him and often comment on his personality or send us photos of him. Our housekeeper who has a cat allergy even says she does fine with Gus at the place. However, if you have severe pet allergies, this may not be the right place for you.

Our home sits on a quiet street that's a block from a popular neighborhood bakery and breakfast spot you should definitely try if you enjoy pastries and meeting friendly locals and is only a few blocks' walk to award-winning local restaurants and bars on Eastland Avenue (including Eastland Cafe, Jenni's Ice Cream, Silly Goose, Rosepepper Cantina, etc.) and James Beard-nominated restaurant Lockeland Table on Woodland Avenue. We are also a short walk to Five Points, where you'll find restaurants, bars, music venues, shopping, and more. Great food, music, and activities are everywhere in this neighborhood!

Our home is 2.5 miles away from LP Field where the Tennessee Titans play and 3.3 miles from Bridgestone Arena where the Nashville Predators play. Additionally, we're only 3 miles to downtown/Broadway area honkytonks. We are an 8-mile/15-minute drive to the Grand Ole Opry and Opryland and within walking distance of the Shelby golf course and beautiful Shelby Park.

Everything in Nashville is easily accessible via car, or we're a few blocks' walk to a city bus stop and happy to provide public transit information to help you out. Bike rental is always an option nearby at Five Points or Shelby Park, and Lyft car service is another great way to get around the city without using cabs!

This rental is also our full time home. We take good care of our property and do everything we can to make sure guests staying with us have all they need to enjoy their time here and in the great city of Nashville.

We love being Airbnb hosts. Let us welcome you with some complimentary coffee and pastries, local beer, suggest some favorite restaurants or music venues for you to check out, and share with you what we love about living in East Nashville.

The Neighborhood

The people, the food, the art the music, the public green spaces, the architecture, the history... It's great to be an East Nashvillian! (And some people might just tell you that Lockeland Springs is the best neighborhood in all of East Nashville...)

A city bus stop is within walking distance and can get you all around Nashville. You can also rent a bike nearby, take Lyft or Uber, or call a cab. Lots of options for transportation!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Matt and Harmoni's place for a weekend in Nashville. (our first time ever visiting the city) We wanted to stay in a 'real' neighborhood outside of downtown and this place was perfect. We could walk to great bars and restaurants. Matt and Harmoni went above and beyond in every way. They made great recommendations in the area, left their adorable house spotless and checked in to make sure we were happy with the place when we arrived. Their cat was super sweet and a good buddy to have in the house with us. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat and recommend it to any friends planning a trip to Nashville.

  • We had to cancel our trip to Nashville at the last minute due to illness. Matt & Harmoni were compassionate and professional in helping us do so. We hope to get to Nashville in the near future - and will absolutely book with Matt & Harmoni, again!

  • Our family had a great time celebrating the holidays at Matthew and Harmoni's house. It was conveniently located near everything we'd want in East Nashville, and was beautifully decorated. They made us feel totally at home and welcome in their place. Matthew was very helpful throughout the process. We would definitely recommend their lovely cottage to future guests!
