We had a great stay in Kreuzberg. The flat is really nice, fully equipped, and very handy to the U-Bahn. And this is a great side of town to stay on. Our hosts were lovely and very helpful. Highly recommended!
We had a really great experience in Sabine´s apartment.
Sabine was a very helpful and caring hostess. At check in she instructed us on how to get to the main attractions around the apartment, how to use public transport (tickets, stops), how to book tickets and get informed about Berlin's events through the web. She also provided some groceries like cheese, coffee, bread, fruit, yogurt, salad, water, etc. that were waiting for us when we arrived (therefore we didn´t have to rush to a groceries store before having breakfast or getting to know a little bit of the city, which was awesome). And there were lots of toilet products offered for the use of the guests.
Most of all Sabine really made us feel at home, basically by being very friendly and the check in & out were very simple processes.
The flat itself is gorgeous - the photos can hardly do it justice. Overlooking a square it is airy, with lots of space, full of light, big and comfortable bathroom/toilet and bedroom. Our daughter slept very comfortably in one side of the living room, while there was still plenty of space in the lounge, for us all to sit, read, enjoy the view, or watch tv (world cup matches included). It is situated on the 3rd floor of a really homely building - with public transport very close by, on the corner. Another good surprise was that although the apartment is very cozy and very well taken care of, nobody seems to actually live there - which allows you not to worry too much about handling other people´s personal and dear belongings. (This was a very positive point in my opinion).
Kreuzberg in its turn is a very nice neighborhood, and the flat seems to be indeed in the best part of it - next to the river, the gardens, canals, a park, with small streets full of restaurants, bars and adorable 'beer gartens'. We would love to go back and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to spend some time feeling as close as possible to a local in Berlin. Thank you so much Sabine for having us in our lovely 8 days in Berlin.
Very nice and cosy. Like be at home. Good situation. Very nice hosts. We think this is an exellent place to stay when you are in Berlin.Anna and Per.
We had a wonderful time at Sabine's apartment in Kreuzberg. Superb location, very close to U-Bahn. 3 floors up above a restaurant and opposite a bar, yet still felt reasonably quiet and peaceful indoors. There is space to leave bikes downstairs. The apartment is light and airy. Good restaurants and food shops nearby. Sabine left us some provisions - cheese, wine, beer, water, fruit, which felt very welcoming. We would recommend Sabine's apartment.
Sabine and her husband are friendly and helpful. The appartment is nice and Kreuzberg is a nice neighborhood.
The coffeebar Floor's (Schönleinstrasse 6) has lovely "kaffee mit kuchen".
We absolutely loved staying at Sabine's apartment. Her husband, who's name I have unfortunately forgotten due to it's German-ness :), was there to greet us, and he couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. The house itself was very spacious with everything one could need. It was quite at night despite the area being very active at all hours. The neighbourhood of "Kreuzberg" has a very strong Turkish-German population. With Berlin being so multi-cultural and diverse, this just adds to the flavour of the place. If you are not looking for this though, Kreuzberg isn't for you. We found it a great experience. Also! The subway station is a stone throw away from the building, so this made everything so much easier. They even left condiments and wine for us :)
2 very minor downfalls about the place. One being the flat is on the 3rd floor, meaning more stairs. So if you have heavy luggage and don't like to lift it, this may be a problem. On the flip side, being that high up adds to the silence at night. The other minor downfall is that unless you are sitting in the kitchen where the internet modem is, the internet can be quite slow.
Other than that, the place was very clean, and gets a five star thumbs up from me. Would return in a heartbeat.
I have nothing bad to say about Sabine! She was very friendly and made me and my sisters feel we were welcome. She was waiting for us in the apartment and showed us the places there and told to be in contact if we had any questions. There were fresh fruits, bread, juice and wine waiting in the kitchen. Apartment included everything you could need while your stay and it was nice and beautiful. Location was perfect.
We definitely recommend this address!
