Handcrafted cabin with treehouse charm

A handbuilt cabin with skylights, walls of windows, a deep soaking tub, and an outdoor shower.

A peaceful retreat guests return to

Guests describe waking up in the trees as peaceful and restorative. Many return for repeat stays.
This cabin was constructed by hand in 2019 and is designed with both style and calm in mind. It is a perfect place for artists and writers to find inspiration or for guests who want to connect to nature by simply waking up with the trees.
The cabin is a BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ safe space, partly functions as an informal artist residency space for our friends, comrades and guests who stay will find it more as a home environment instead of a hotel.

The space
The cabin operates as a guest house on our property. Both the main house and the cabin are located on the north-facing mountainside and are close to each other. We have two children, cat and a dog all of which play outside and around the path to the cabin. The driveway is steep, however, it is short- but keep in mind that it is not easy for cars. Guest park to the left and then navigate wide stairs, a rock path, rock stairs, then wooden/earthen stairs up to the cabin (passing by both the front and left side of the main house).

CAUTION: There is no railing for the stairs; the walkway is steep and can be slippery when wet. We acknowledge that our place is not handicap accessible.

PLEASE NOTE: Cabin Kisa is not operated by a property management company. We do not strive for perfection at Cabin Kisa, instead- we hope to create a warm and comfortable space for your stay. If you are looking for an upscale cabin in this style, we request you look elsewhere, as this is not an upscale cabin. Our cabin has unique, hand built qualities. For folks who are used to alternative, environmentally sustainable building materials- you will appreciate this cabin. For folks who require more mainstream designs and materials, this cabin is likely not for you.

Guest access
Guests have access to the guest house (aka "cabin kisa"), as well as the outdoor shower located on the southwest side of the guest house. Neither the main house nor the hot tub are available for guests.

Other things to note
We do allow guest to bring one animal, please help us to keep allowing pets by following the rules below:

1. ONLY ONE PET IS ALLOWED, which includes service animals. The cabin is too small for more than one pet/service animal. We have recently had folks bringing more than one pet without notification. Please note: we will charge an extra $100 for each additional animal for those who don't reach out to us beforehand. We only allow more than one pet under extenuating circumstances and each additional pet must be approved prior to arrival. Thank you for your understanding.
2. Animals must sleep in their own bed provided by the owner.
3. Dogs must be kept on a leash from the car to the cabin and back.
4. Please pick up your dog waste throughout your time here.

If you are allergic to bees or wasps please note that we live in the forest and occasionally bees, spiders, or other bugs enter into the cabin. We are in the woods so there are wild life all around so please beware of that.

If you are traveling with infants that are crawling, learning to walk, or new walkers please note that the cabin has stairs inside the space. The cabin also has a high deck which has a railing, however it is not suitable for young children on the go! If you plan on bringing a small kiddo, please reach out to discuss more. The space works for some families with young kids, however it does not work for all and definitely requires supervision of your young one.

Furthermore, if you are bringing extra baby amenities, please note that you will be bringing them up a hill to the cabin. If you are bringing a crib, it will need to be set up in the kitchen/dinning space as there is no extra space in the bedroom. If you co-sleep with your baby, please note that the bed is queen sized.

If you decide that the space works for you and your little one, please note that there will be no refunds if you arrive and decide it is not suitable. Different parents have different expectations and, while we try to accommodate everyone, we know that is not possible.

We ask that guest keep visiting friends to a one car minimum and that those guests park only in the driveway. Visitors of our guests are only allowed to stay for the day and we ask that they do not leave their cars here if guests and their visitors decide to leave together (meaning, we would appreciate all cars gone when our guests are out for the day). These requests are due to limited parking and are necessary for our privacy and daily processes of our home. We appreciate your understanding!

Professional photography of any aspects of the cabin or land is strictly prohibited. We do not allow wedding photos, family photos, or any other type of photos to be taken professionally here.
