The Neighborhood

Our cabin is located half way between Tahoe City and Homewood, in the Timberland Neighborhood. Rustic Lane is made up of small cabins on large lots. The cabin is set back from the road giving it an old Tahoe, cabin in the woods feel. We love hiking right out the door through the meadow at Rideout recreation center and up Ward creek or the short walk to the Lake.

  • A very nice little cottage. It fit us all (a couple with 2 small kids) perfectly for a weekend of skiing. Chris was really accessible to requests we had (he left the heating on earlier in the day for us because we we're getting in late at night) and such. A perfect host.

  • GREAT LOCATION: We really enjoyed our stay at the rustic cabin. It was a nice location, walking distance from the lake and nice to be in North Lake Tahoe instead of South. The neighborhood was quaint and fairly secluded.

COZY: The cabin was cozy (carpeted with lots of rugs, comfy couches, beds and sheets and soft throws on the couches).

WELL STOCKED: It had everything we needed including firewood and toilet paper. There (email hidden) essentials left there that were nice like olive oil and red pepper flakes that we used. We tried to leave a couple items behind that we bought to pass it on.

AFFORDABLE: It was the best price we could find in the area for the holiday season.
It was definitely small but worked fine for 4 adults. It did take a while to warm up inside but by morning, it was quite warm upstairs. It was easy to get in. Chris was responsive with instructions. Highly recommended.

  • This truly is the perfect Rustic Tahoe Cabin! We had a lovely time staying here. Everything was in great shape and clean when we arrived. The fireplace was amazing. It is just minutes from Squaw, Homewood, and downtown Tahoe City. I would highly recommend this cabin and will hopefully use it again!

  • I just got back from staying at Chris's rustic cabin for a weekend of skiing in north Lake Tahoe. It was great! The cabin is charming, with hardwood floors, paneled walls, and a real fireplace. Sitting around the fireplace and drinking warm tea was a great way to cap off a day at the slopes. It also has a nice kitchen, so we were able to cook up a hearty breakfast before setting off each morning. The only real downside was that it took quite a while to wash the sheets and towels with the very small washer and dryer in the place.

One important thing to note: the driveway was rather icy when we were there, so we needed to put on chains just to park our car. Since it's the only place to park, you will definitely want to bring chains too.

On the whole, it was a great place, and Chris was super nice and responsive, so I would definitely stay there again!

  • Great cabin really close to homewood and tahoe city. Very quite neighborhood clost to everything but far enough away to get away from everything you want.
