Come stay in my gorgeous, large (140 sf) sunny bedroom in the heart of Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Room has a double bed, 3 windows, HUGE walk-in closet with dresser. Room and apt are furnished very attractively with a mix of Danish modern, vintage 1940s blonde wood (Heywood-Wakefield,) and contemporary furniture.
You will be sharing this 2 BR apt with my roommate, who is nice, quiet, sociable and courteous. You should be the same. (She will be out of town for part of December, in which case you'll have the apartment to yourself. A full apartment rental is a possibility--let me know and I will work out the details with my roomie). Shared bathroom has tub and shower; cute kitchen has workspace for food prep and small table for two or three.
The location could not be better. We are a 5 minute walk from the Q/B at 7th Avenue, and the 2/3 at Bergen. Any of these trains gets you to Union Square in 20 minutes. A fifteen minute walk takes you to Prospect Park, BAM, Brooklyn Museum, Park Slope boutiques, Fort Greene shopping and bars; a 10-minute bus ride gets you to Cobble Hill/Carroll Gardens and fun, trendy Smith Street. 10 minutes walking to Atlantic Avenue and the new Barclay's Center. This is a charming and diverse neighborhood full of brownstones and tree-lined streets. Vanderbilt Avenue has a fabulous array of top-notch bars and restaurants (including Brooklyn's only artisanal mayonnaise shop :D).
You will love staying here!
Holly's apartment was the best move I could have done about accommodation in New York over the New Years. Her apartment is cozy, clean, easily accessible. It turned out that it was exactly the right quiet place where one can recover after all day long city tour. Holly let us use her netflix account and me and my girlfriend enjoyed a company of her snugly cat. It would be only half the joy if I were accommodated elsewhere.
Holly is a lovely person! In spite of her being away, she managed to give me perfect instructions prior to my arrival and was always helpful via phone when I asked her for help in her room or about tips what to do in the neighborhood. I definitely want to go back and explore more of the Brooklyn.
Holly's place was beautiful! She was away for the weekend so we stayed in her room. The area is gorgeous, the apartment is exactly as pictured, and the roommate and cat are quite nice! Holly herself was very friendly and responsive via email. Would definitely come back again.
Merci Holly pour ce sejour et toutes tes informations
Holly's place is perfectly located for visiting New York: It's a quick train ride into Manhattan (Bergen St and Atlantic Ave station are just around the corner) and it's a short walk to Fulton St where the G train stops on the way to Williamsburg. There are also plenty of shops, bars and places to eat on 5th, 7th and Flatbush Ave. Prospect park is also just around the corner. Hollys place is clean, spacous and quiet. There was no problem with the hand over of the keys even though Holly wasn't in town while I was visiting. She arranged for her housemate to let me into the flat who is a very friendly, helpful and considerate person. Holly is a good communicator and she swiftly responded to all my messages. I'd certainly recommend staying at Holly's.
