RUSTIC PARADISE!!
Two thatched self catering chalets. The accommodation is modest yet comfortable, it is the setting that is idyllic.
Set right on the Olifants river, the pool, pooldeck, open kitchen and 2 chalets look right onto an island in the river.

The space
Little Carthage is set deep in the bush right on the Olifant's river, in the 1000 ha Ndlovumzi Nature Reserve which has most of the plains game.
There is a large pooldeck exclusively for the chalets that has a braai pit and tables, and open access to the outdoor kitchen. The outdoor kitchen has a full size fridge, a gas oven / stove, microwave, toaster, kettle, and all cutlery and crockery. The 2 chalets are set just slightly back and to the side of the outdoor kitchen, while still attached.
The 4 sleeper chalet has a queen size bed downstairs with an open loft with 2 single beds. A small kitchenette with a small fridge, and a separate bathroom (no bath, only a shower).
The 2 sleeper is small and basic, an open plan room with a double bed and a bathroom (no bath, only a shower) separated only by a half wall.
The chalets are cleaned and made up before guests arrive and linen, bath towels, hand towels and guest soap are provided. The chalets are not serviced during your stay, but arrangements can be made at a small daily fee.
There is a R150 once-off entrance fee per car (per week). It is a 90 minute drive from Little Carthage to The Kruger Park's Orpen gate.

Where you’ll be

Hoedspruit, Limpopo, South Africa

Whether you choose to spend most of your time here, or go sight-seeing, there is plenty to do.
The pool deck has an awesome view and is ideal for lying on a lounger reading a book. The pool and river keeps kids busy and entertained, and a natural sandpit to play in for hours. You can also go for walks or hikes depending on fitness levels; there is an island in the river with waterfalls and potholes, or game drives, walks or bicycle rides (bring own) in the Reserve.
Hoedspruit is 30 km's away with restaurants and shops, and around the area is Jessica the famous hippo, the giant baobab, Kinyonga reptile park, Moholoholo rehabilitation centre, Hoedspruit Cheetah centre, and further afield the Kruger Park and Blyde River Canyon.

When I was 19 I was in a car accident that left me wheelchair bound. I had great support from family and friends, and realised life could go on.
I absolutely love nature and animals. I'm quite content to be in the middle of the bush with no other people around, and when people are around I thoroughly enjoy the company. I can be alone without being lonely.
