A room less than 70 meters from Stanford campus is for rent. It's 15 feet by 16 feet, originally was a living room, but tall furniture like bookshelves and media center seclude the room from the rest of the apartment and make it practically a bedroom. It's fully furnished with twin-sized bed and linens, dressers, desk, comfortable leather executive chair, floor lamps, desk lamps, bookshelves, coffee table, futon and laundry basket. It has a walk-in closet. Free WiFi internet connection offered. All utilities are included in the rent. Coin-operated laundry room on site. Free street parking.
Phase is friendly, and but he offers a relatively big space, but, as quoted in other comments, his place is really dirty (in particular, the bathroom and the kitchen). It is also a bit dark. I don't understand (nor appreciate) why he charged a cleaning fee.
The Place was filthy the black and red mold in the bathroom was all over like tile grout.
It was terrible he charged a cleaning fee and place had not been cleaned for a super long time as stated in other feedback. Do not ignore.
Could not keep food there.
I looked for another place for the second night
Mia, the place was indeed filthy and dirty after you stayed here, not before! You left a mess in your room as well as the kitchen and bathroom, you are supposed to dispose your crap during your stay. I am not your servant ! You only reserved the place for 2 days, why did you arrange so many mails to be sent here ?! Some of the mails seems to be sent from lawyers, are you in legal trouble? are you trying to avoid legal problems by reserving my place and direct all these lawyer mails to my place?
I appreciate Phase accepting my last-minute request for accommodation and his quick responses to my questions or concerns, but he really needs to clean up his place if he wants to attract other guests. I was appalled by the thick layer of dust everywhere, including the bedside lamp, and the dirty dishes in the kitchen, the mold growing in the bathroom, the unvacuumed carpet, etc. It made me wonder whether the sheets had even been changed on my bed. I would have left after the first night if I'd had any alternative.
Good spot near Stanford's main campus. Also close to several Stanford Marguerite bus routes. I was able to walk a few blocks to jump on the V-line to go to the VA hospital for medical student rotations. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of room to work in study area with large desk and comfy chair. Wired & wireless internet was up and running when I came. You may need to ask Phase to clear up some space in the walk-in closet, but there is room available. Nicely sized kitchen area. Shared bathroom/shower had nice warm water. There is a separate one bedroom area for another flatmate. Nearby grocery was closed for renovation during my stay, but Mollie Stone's is not too far and in walking distance. There are several nearby restaurants as well.
Thanks Phase for his hospitality! Great place, near from one block Stanford Campus. If Ill be back in Palo Alto I must have to write Phase.) He is excellent boss!
This was a good option for me since I had to be on Stanford campus every day. The bed is more comfortable than it looks!
