  • Our family of five (with three kids aged 11, 11, and 9) stayed in the apartment for 7 nights over the 4th of July weekend. With the summer heat in NYC, the apartment was a great getaway with great AC. The neighborhood (Hells Kitchen) is close enough to Times Square to be accessible, but far enough (2 long blocks) to feel more like a neighborhood. Though small by most standards, the apartment is good sized for an NYC one bedroom.

  • Eddie is probably a very busy guy who doesn't fully understand when you own an airbnb property things don't always go to plan and sometimes you'll need to compromise in other avenues in your life to ensure the airbnb process works. It's a business after all. Despite an initial misunderstanding, the accommodation was immaculate and in prime location. His hospitality and maintenance of the property is well done, so kudos. Points are lost for the customer service/interaction element as it wasn't the most welcoming start to NYC.

    Response from E. M.:

With all due respect Sneha, but this was one of the worst experience as a host. Your complain is baseless because: you told me you were arriving at 1pm. I took two hours off from my work to be there. When I texted you you at 2pm you told me you were arriving at 5pm. I lost my time at work, had to go back and find and pay someone to come and meet you again at 6pm. When I pointed that to you , now I wasn't welcoming? Not mentioning that you trashed the apartment and left 5 full bags of garbage. Please read house rules if you stay not time with a Airbnb.

  • We stayed for a couple of nights only at Eddie's place on 9th avenue and everything was fine. Unfortunately we couldn't meet Eddie but a friend of his met us and checked us in giving all information we needed.
Eddie communicated with us before our stay to arrange details and it was very easy to spot the apartment as it is very centrally located with a lot of options for food and shopping in the are around around. It's a walking distance to most sighsteeing spots, while subway stations are also very close and the area is safe 24 hours per day.
The place is on the first floor (2nd for NYC) exacltly as shown in the pictures, clean and tidy - in a much better condition than the building itself :-) and is equiped with everything one might need for a short (or longer) stay. Although 9th Ave is a busy street, there was no noise in the apartment as it is located at the back of the building. Internet is fast, air-conditioner worked fine, there was room to hand our clothes and an iron, the couch was good to relax ... what else can one need?
Overall our experience was great and we would recommend the place.

  • The flat is really nice and in a really nice place: Hell's Kitchen is lovely and you can feel like a real NY citizen. We loved having so many gorgeous restaurants in walking distance, and it was great finding "our place" for breakfast.
Eddie has been lovely, and though he couldn't be there, he addressed us to a friend that was hugely helpful with the only hitch we had.
We highly reccommend both the place and the owner, though suggest that for 2 people better than 4: we were there with the kids, and found a bit difficult to have space enough - for example - to eat at home. Big thumbs up for everything else.

  • Great apartment, great location. Everything was as expected. I really enjoyed that Eddie allowed us to have an early check-in, it really helped us immensely. Beds were comfortable, bathroom clean, a/c in both bedroom and living room area. Would recommend and may use again.

  • This unit was even better than we expected! The location was terrific for walking to the theater, Central Park, the Intrepid museum, bike rentals, and Grand Central. Having both a supermarket and drug store within a block, as well as numerous restaurants close was another surprise. The unit was clean, spacious, and, due to its location in the back of the building - amazingly quiet. The kitchen area had all we needed - fridge, microwave, coffee pot, dishware (we didn't use the range, oven, or dishwasher.) Also, having the 2 beds separated by a door contributed to good sleep for all.
