Enjoy this lovely 3 bedroom historic Georgetown row home with a working fireplace in the living room, renovated kitchen and bath, hardwood floors and high ceilings. Home has a lovely back garden and patio area. The living room feels like home, with a cozy reading corner, a dining table for a family, and a sitting area for everyone. A New England feel we've been told, hopefully with some more modern elements.
During your stay you can expect to enjoy evening walks in the neighborhood, some time at the park with your kids (if you have them), a walk along M Street for shopping if that's something you enjoy, and we'd recommend a walk along the river. DC is unique in its combination of green and city. For those who enjoy longer adventures, we'd suggest a walk along the river to the Lincoln Memorial, along the mall, back up by the White House, through Dupont, for some drinks and dinner in our backyard as the sun goes down.
For us, and we think many, the location is ideal. The immediate neighborhood feels like a quaint village but it is walking distance to great shopping, restaurants, and nightlife in Dupont Circle, Georgetown's M St. and Wisconsin Ave, and Foggy Bottom. Also a 10 minute walk to the river, with additional parks, sailboats, canoes, kayaks, and stand up paddle boards for rent along the waterfront. One of our favorite things to do is take a canoe or kayak out on the Potomac and see the city this way. We are steps (one block) to Rose Park, which has public tennis, basketball, playground and fields and plenty of room for family fun.
Street parking isn't a problem and there are several bus lines including the Circulator within a few blocks. The house is also walking distance (15 minutes) to the Dupont Circle and Foggy Bottom Metros.
This is a warm comfortable home for people that value outdoor access in a beautiful and traditional neighborhood with direct access to downtown DC, nightlife, and the best of the Capitol. We are happy to share it with you.
Perfectly perfect for us. We spent 4 nights at Tara's lovely Georgetown house and had a wonderful time. The location is great. We appreciated being close to the post office and being able to walk to the Georgetown campus. Loved the view out into the garden in the morning. Crab cakes from Stachowskis around the corner at 28th and N were a real treat.
