Description

The space

When we were building the Monkey Suite we were almost finished with it and we still didn't know what to name it and than a few of our neighbors (monkeys) dropped by to see it and without saying a word to us, we knew what to name it. The Monkey Suite is a 1 bedroom apartment with 1 bath, kitchen and living room. It has great jungle and ocean views, with plenty of wildlife just outside of your windows.

If the Monkey Suite isn't available for your specific dates, please view our other 4 apartments that are spread out on the property. Simply click on our photograph and than look on the lower left side of the new page to see them.

When you stay at the "Monkey Suite" you will enjoy our pool and large covered rancho where you can sit back and relax. The rancho has a hammock, tables and chairs and a TV. It's the perfect place to have your breakfast or lunch as you watch the boats go in and out of the marina. It's also a great place to meet a few of our other guests from all around the world.

We are a short 10 minute drive to the world famous Manuel Antonio National Park with it's beautiful beaches and exotic wildlife. It is only a short walk to central Quepos, less than 10 minutes, where you will find local restaurants, clothing shops, gift stores, art gallery's, pharmacy's, groceries and almost anything else you might need. You can also visit our local farmers market every Friday and Saturday, where you can try some of our exotic fruits or home baked pastries, it's just a 5 minute walk from our villa and is located right on the oceans edge in front of the marina.

There are many interesting things to do during your stay. Surfing, canopy tours, sunset cruises, white water rafting, guided tours through the national park and so much more.

If you would like, we can provide private transportation to and from San Jose and help arrange all of your tours to help make your Costa Rica Vacation unforgettable.

My husband and I live on the property and are always available to help in any way we can.

The view is fantastic and the location makes you really feel like you're in the rainforest. Marta and Douglas were very kind and accommodating.

Great view of Marina Pez Veda, but no monkeys visiting the monkey suite. Marta and Douglas were VERY good about getting us to their place and communicating in country. It is a nutty drive up, scraped the rental car bottom a couple of times. No issues with an SUV. Spacious, full size fridge and kitchen is well equiped. Pool and bar area are small but well maintained. 2 minutes to Marina, 15 minutes to Manuel Antonio. Note the couch is NOT a pull out, there is an extra fee to get the 2nd bed. For a very busy time of year in Quepos, good value for the money, unit is pretty tired and bathroom dated put perfectly functional.

Great place. Nice people. No complaints whatsoever. Walk to Quepos not bad at all. i did it 10-12 times and I'm 73 years old. Monkeys galore but no bird sightings to speak of.

The place is very convenient. The AC is not enough for the whole place. The place is old but very convenient. I would not stay there if it would be for more and 1 or 2 nights. The host is really nice and the view over the marina amazing.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Monkey Suite for 12 nights. We had an amazing time, Marta was so helpful, booking trips for us- she even offered to book a trip for us we'd found ourselves. The Monkey Suite is aptly named- we had squirrel monkeys going by almost daily and visits from capuchins too. The pool/bar area is lovely with fab views and lots of wildlife around too. The apartment itself was very comfortable with air con, corner couch and comfy bed, and Raoul made sure it was kept clean and made sure we had plenty of towels (including fresh beach towels) The apartments are a short walk downhill from the marina, Quepos and Manuel Antonio is easily accessible by bus. If in doubt, just book! You won't regret it. Thank you again to Marta, Douglas and Raoul :)

Martha and Douglas's place was amazing. The view was amazing and the pool was great. We stayed in the Monkey Suite and it was everything we needed. We walked to the town. It was about a 10 minute walk. One note is this place is on a steep hill so the walk back could be challenging if you are not a walker. Also interesting driving a car up this hill. Not for beginner drivers. Cabs will drive you right to the door though. This place was exactly as stated on Airbnb. We even had monkeys.

Marta And Douglas User ProfileMarta And Douglas is a superhost.

Marta
I have a very outgoing personality and love to dance, cook and laugh. I enjoy meeting and helping people. I love to travel throughout my country and other countries as well. My husband Douglas and I have been married for 25 years and have two daughters, Bianca 23 and Sandy 18. Both girls attend the university in San Jose. Both Douglas and I were born and raised in Quepos and we think that with all of the lovely areas in Costa Rica, that the Quepos/Manuel Antonio are is the most beautiful.

I like to dance and cook as well. Although I am not as outgoing as my wife, I do enjoy meeting other people. I have worked for the national electric company "ICE for 27 years as a maintenance supervisor. I like to travel and enjoy seeing other areas of our beautiful country. We slowly built on our property over the years and enjoy sharing it with others. Now with the pool and rancho completed I think we are finally finished.
