This is a private apartment and not just a room. It has a kitchen, full bath, living room/dining area, 1 bedroom, A/C, TV, WiFi and a shared swimming pool. There is a queen size bed and we add a single bed at additional cost for the third guest.

The space

When we were building the Monkey Suite we were almost finished with it and we still didn't know what to name it and than a few of our neighbors (monkeys) dropped by to see it and without saying a word to us, we knew what to name it. The Monkey Suite is a 1 bedroom apartment with 1 bath, kitchen and living room. It has great jungle and ocean views, with plenty of wildlife just outside of your windows.

If the Monkey Suite isn't available for your specific dates, please view our other 4 apartments that are spread out on the property. Simply click on our photograph and than look on the lower left side of the new page to see them.

When you stay at the "Monkey Suite" you will enjoy our pool and large covered rancho where you can sit back and relax. The rancho has a hammock, tables and chairs and a TV. It's the perfect place to have your breakfast or lunch as you watch the boats go in and out of the marina. It's also a great place to meet a few of our other guests from all around the world.

We are a short 10 minute drive to the world famous Manuel Antonio National Park with it's beautiful beaches and exotic wildlife. It is only a short walk to central Quepos, less than 10 minutes, where you will find local restaurants, clothing shops, gift stores, art gallery's, pharmacy's, groceries and almost anything else you might need. You can also visit our local farmers market every Friday and Saturday, where you can try some of our exotic fruits or home baked pastries, it's just a 5 minute walk from our villa and is located right on the oceans edge in front of the marina.

There are many interesting things to do during your stay. Surfing, canopy tours, sunset cruises, white water rafting, guided tours through the national park and so much more.

If you would like, we can provide private transportation to and from San Jose and help arrange all of your tours to help make your Costa Rica Vacation unforgettable.

My husband and I live on the property and are always available to help in any way we can.

This place is amazing. Marta & Douglas are the most wonderful people; we feel lucky to have met them & stayed at their place. It is so beautiful, words can't do it justice. We felt at home here the moment we arrived. We'll come back at every chance we get. Highly highly recommend staying here if you're coming to Manuel Antonio/Quepos

There are monkeys!! The time of day which they visit however is inconsistent; they’re monkeys and they do what they want haha. They do love plantains though! Marta’s daughter can make a mean long island ice tea (along with many other drinks) for you to enjoy poolside. Marta has a booklet of awesome things to do, including the Ocean King Catamaran which is HIGHLY recommended. One of the biggest things for us was the communication. Marta was quick to reply and accommodate any questions or concerns we had. Every taxi knew exactly where the room was and would return us to our room at any hour for about 2-3mil colones. The Monkey Suite was beautiful and they changed our towels and sheets daily. We had all we needed to cook and maintain our purchased items. It is not a noisy complex at all. And once you’re done shopping in Quepos, or dining, or returning from another adventure you can drink and swim in the pool overlooking the gorgeous view of the docks and ocean. On top of monkeys we also had beautiful iguanas and exotic birds for neighbors. I have been to Costa Rica twice prior and have returned this year for my honeymoon. Booking with Marta and Douglas been the most accommodating, private and adventurous way to visit Costa Rica in experiencing both the culture and tourism. If I could give more stars I would.

What a great location from town. Beautiful view in the morning from the patio and amazing views from the pool. Definitely had everything we needed for living in a cute bungalow in the jungle!

I stayed almost a week in the Monkey Suite and had a wonderful time. The Suite was exactly as described, monkeys included! Housekeeping was excellent!! I had a short walk to the Marina (some upscale and expensive, but very good, bars and restaurants), and a slightly longer - 15 minutes or so - walk into town along the ocean, where I found all sorts of good places to eat in different price ranges , as well as many options for buying groceries and pharmaceutical items. The bus station was convenient - local and long distance buses frequent and inexpensive, and the bus to Manuel Antonio Park runs every 15 minutes. I headed to farther destinations, too - all very doable without a car. The walk back to Marta's and Douglas's place was uphill, so I took a taxi if I was carrying a lot of groceries and it was particularly hot - taxi was $3.50-$4.00. Otherwise I walked - a pretty walk through the jungle. Marta was particularly helpful and responsive: communication was easy and convenient. She went out of her way to make me comfortable and at home. Highly recommended - I would stay there again!

We had a wonderful stay at Marta and Douglas's place. They were both very kind and helpful. Marta booked a catamaran tour for us. When I couldn't find the email she sent with the directions she came down and met me at the marina so we could follow her back. The views are gorgeous and overlook the marina. One afternoon we had a group of about 20 titi monkeys come through and got some great up close pictures. Wonderful place! You won't be disappointed!

I absolutely recommend Marta and Douglas' place. It's an easy 15-min walk from downtown Quepos. Marta was also very helpful both in terms of giving instructions on how to get to her place and what to do in Quepos and Manuel Antonio. We stayed in the Monkey Suite, and we woke up every morning with monkeys around! The balcony also overviews the harbor.
