About This Listing
This is a private apartment and not just a room. It has a complete kitchen, full bath, living room /dining area, 1 bedroom, A/C, TV, WiFi and a shared swimming pool. There is a queen size bed and we add a single bed when there is a third guest.
When we were building the Monkey Suite we were almost finished with it and we still didn't know what to name it and than a few of our neighbors (monkeys) dropped by to see it and without saying a word to us, we knew what to name it. The Monkey Suite is a 1 bedroom apartment with 1 bath, kitchen and living room. It has great jungle and ocean views, with plenty of wildlife just outside of your windows.
If the Monkey Suite isn't available for your specific dates, please view our other 4 apartments that are spread out on the property. Simply click on our photograph and than look on the lower left side of the new page to see them.
When you stay at the "Monkey Suite" you will enjoy our pool and large covered rancho where you can sit back and relax. The rancho has a hammock, tables and chairs and a TV. It's the perfect place to have your breakfast or lunch as you watch the boats go in and out of the marina. It's also a great place to meet a few of our other guests from all around the world.
We are a short 10 minute drive to the world famous Manuel Antonio National Park with it's beautiful beaches and exotic wildlife. It is only a short walk to central Quepos, less than 10 minutes, where you will find local restaurants, clothing shops, gift stores, art gallery's, pharmacy's, groceries and almost anything else you might need. You can also visit our local farmers market every Friday and Saturday, where you can try some of our exotic fruits or home baked pastries, it's just a 5 minute walk from our villa and is located right on the oceans edge in front of the marina.
There are many interesting things to do during your stay. Surfing, canopy tours, sunset cruises, white water rafting, guided tours through the national park and so much more.
If you would like, we can provide private transportation to and from San Jose and help arrange all of your tours to help make your Costa Rica Vacation unforgettable.

Great location, very convenient to get to and from, and the family is amazing!!
As soon as we got to the bus stop we were able to hope in a cab and just say Casa Pargo. The taxi drivers always new exactly were to take us but you can also walk there from the bus stop if you wish; and to central downtown from the house. As well as other places around. We loved the ceviche at Restaurante Banana!
Marta also has a bar for you to use and she'll keep a tab running during your trip; and a pool overlooking the pier, hammocks, and squirrel monkeys that come by during the afternoon!
Thank you for everything Marta, Bianca and Douglas.
I just returned from 5 nights staying in the Monkey Suite. From the time I pulled up actually 3 hours early Marta made me feel very welcomed. She explained the area to me and about using everything in their place. I really enjoyed my stay there and the Suit was bigger than in the pics and had everything I needed there. I lost my bank card while in the town and she offered her phone for me to make any calls that I needed to make. With the A/C and fans I was always cool and comfortable and the I slept great in the bed. The trail down the hill to get into town was great and I used it many times but only walked back twice. It's a very tough walk to get back going up the hill and well worth the few dollars for the taxi. The only problem you may have is if you cook or eat in they have a bunch of tiny ants that will be everywhere if you drop and food. I was getting upset that I hadn't seen any monkeys the first few days but then finally they were everywhere and it was amazing watching all of them. I even saw two iguanas playing around. The town of Guepos is small but has everything you need and everyone was so nice. Twice I paid like $1 to catch the bus to Manuel Antonio which was a comfortable ride. Such a beautiful place! Thanks Marta for everything and a nice peaceful trip!
We enjoyed our stay with Martha and Douglas. We didn't chat a lot with them since we were mostly out exploring the area around Quepos and Manuel Antonio. They are friendly and nice people though, and before we arrived we received very thorough instructions on how to get there (needed for the last part of the driving).
The Monkey Suit is much bigger than it looks from the pictures. It's a clean and comfortable space to relax and unwind after a day of hiking. Manuel Antonio and Rainmaker are a short drive away.
The pool is a nice place to relax after a day full of exploration, and it has a very nice view over the marina. It is also an excellent place to watch the sunset (as is the balcony in the Monkey Suit).
One day we hade the monkeys for a visit, unfortunatelly they disappeared quickly when they spotted us (clever monkeys!).
Me and my friend stayed at Martha’s place last week. It was beautiful. The suite was very nice and the views of the ocean and bay from her place were even more beautiful than the pictures. Martha was extremely hospitable. I needed bus reservation to go back to airport from Manuel Antonio, she went out of her way to make the reservation because it was Easter weekend and the regular office was closed. So she called her personal connection and made a reservation for me. She also helped me get a taxi to go from her place to the bus stop since I had luggage with me. She also booked a very nice boat tour for us.
She was always very clear about payments and process while she made the reservations. Manuel Antonio was beautiful, I am planning to go back there with my family in future and then for sure I will stay at Martha’s place.
we had 6 total people on our trip ,it was our bucket list fishing trip of a lifetime .our 2 apts were perfect size lots of room the pool area was just awesome the bar outstanding and the best part our hosts marta and atv doug thanks for all the memories I would recommend to all travelers we caught 17 sails and many more fish thx
The Monkey Suite description was very accurate. The place was clean and cozy and the monkeys were great as we watched them swing by in the mornings.
Marta and Douglas were great hostesses and helped us with any questions we had on the local area and provided recommendations on the local gems that aren't advertised through the tourist sites.
Another great bonus was the fans and air conditioning, very comfortable sleeping accommodations.
We didn't rent a vehicle. The walk to town takes less than 10 minutes and we would make the trip multiple times a day. Enjoying a dip in the pool was a great afternoon and evening treat.
The sunrise and sunset off of the balcony was amazing.
Staying at the Monkey Suite was our first time using Airbnb and the experience with Quepos will definitely have us using it again.

About the Host, Marta And Douglas
I have a very outgoing personality and love to dance, cook and laugh. I enjoy meeting and helping people. I love to travel throughout my country and other countries as well. My husband Douglas and I have been married for 25 years and have two daughters, Bianca 23 and Sandy 18. Both girls attend the university in San Jose. Both Douglas and I were born and raised in Quepos and we think that with all of the lovely areas in Costa Rica, that the Quepos/Manuel Antonio are is the most beautiful.
I like to dance and cook as well. Although I am not as outgoing as my wife, I do enjoy meeting other people. I have worked for the national electric company "ICE for 27 years as a maintenance supervisor. I like to travel and enjoy seeing other areas of our beautiful country. We slowly built on our property over the years and enjoy sharing it with others. Now with the pool and rancho completed I think we are finally finished.
