Sunny and Spacious in East Village

Apartment - Entire home/apt · East 13th Street, New York, NY 10003, United States
Carrie

This is a spacious one bedroom, can sleep up to 4 people, though I prefer not to (just to avoid annoying neighbors). Full kitchen with dining table for 2, wi-fi, blow dryer, fresh linens/towels, toiletries. Best neighborhood in NYC!

  • Carrie was very welcoming and the apartment was very user friendly. There was plenty of space for the two of us and all the amenities worked. The living room and kitchen/hallway areas were really spacious for NYC. Location was great for exploring Manhattan. Loved the Penny Farthing on the corner! Facilities were good although aircon in more than one area would have been nice - the bedroom got mighty hot although there was a desktop fan!
The one downside - I don't think it says anywhere that the apartment is a walk up on the 4th floor because I definitely wouldn't have booked it had I known.

  • Carrie's apartment was wonderful! We had a great stay. Very comfortable and spacious with lots of good restaurants and shops in the neighborhood. It was also quiet enough for plenty of restful sleep.

  • The location is great. Quiet safe neighborhood, convenient to subways and restaurants. Carrie made communication easy and offered to run over and let us in when it looked like we might arrive early. My husband and I stayed on the pullout sofa, which was just OK, while my mother stayed in the bedroom. May be better for only a couple or a couple with teenagers or kids who don't mind sleeping on a sofa sleeper. Otherwise, had everything we needed.

  • We had a great time staying at Carrie's place. Not only was it in the best neighbourhood for getting around (central and close to all the major subway lines) but it also had lots to offer. Close by shops, stores, restaurants, bakeries, etc. It really felt like we were staying in a part of Manhattan that was for locals. The apartment felt like a little oasis from the constant action and noise of NYC. Carrie was also really great with having the place ready for us. From our little communication she figured out we'd need to use the pull-out bed in the living room and had that all prepared for us before we even arrived. It was a very thoughtful touch which I wasn't expecting and was much appreciated. Really, I could keep going about the space in a positive way but other people's reviews basically reflect my satisfaction with staying here and you can read what they have said. I guess, to put it simply, I would definitely stay here again if I go back to NYC. We felt really at home in the space.

  • This was our first AirBnB experience and it was a very good one! We had a great time in Carrie's Apt. It was even more spacious than we had anticipated it; perfectly clean and well equipped. Towels and linen were provided. The street is beautiful and the location is perfect for exploring the lower half of Manhattan even by foot (5 min walking to Union Square; public transportation around the corner). A lot of nice bars and restaurants are close by. The check-in and communication before and after arrival were very easy. Carrie was there when we arrived and took care that everything was perfect for us. We'll definitely come back next time we visit NYC!

  • We stayed in Carrie's apt 8 nights in April with two teenage boys. Altogether, we were satisfied with the apt and would definitely recommend it. The location is excellent; central, in an nice area with many shops and restaurants, close to several subway lines and walking distance from many areas that we visited. The apt had almost everything we needed and the kitchen was well equipped with nice dishes. The bedroom was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Our sons loved the Netflix in the living room and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Carrie was very helpful and made an effort to respond to our requests.

About
I am from California but have lived in NYC for 4 years. I do improv comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade. I fell in love with the East Village because I love discovering all the little wine bars and funky restaurants that spring up around me. I have lived in the area for a year and still discover new places all the time. It's also great for people watching and feeling a bit cozier in a huge city. As a guest and a host I aim to be amicable. I can either share a drink with you or leave you alone, I just want to make sure everyone is comfortable and happy. I am very low-maintenance as a guest and as a host I prefer guests who are the same.
