We enjoyed our stay in San Miguel immensely and plan to return again next year. Our apartment was a studio and was suitable for the two of us. The location and the price met our needs. Our delightful hosts, Pat and Joe, have a large house loaded with art and artifacts It has 3 different rental units and I would recommend that you investigate what is most suitable for you. Our stay was made even better by Mercedes who cleaned our room and did our laundry each week. Her friendly smile and pleasant personality will be missed. The house has entrances on 2 streets. One street has some beautiful, new houses and the other is an older, established street. Mexiquito is a mixed, safe neighbourhood and we enjoyed walking through it on our way to Centro. The walk to the Jardin was about 25 minutes and if we were in a hurry, the bus stop was right at our front door. There were 6 or 7 small Tiendas close by which made shopping convenient. The above and the proximity to Fabrica Aurora made this a good location for us.

Great neighborhood. So easy to get around. Bus comes every 20 minutes. I badly twisted my ankle within a few days of my 2 month stay. Joe lent his truck to another client who drove me to their doctor. Joe lent me his ankle support for the entire time. THEN I got really sick and Joe dropped everything and drove me to the doctor. Later in the day Pat and Joe dropped off a large home made soup which lasted me 3 days. Yum. The garden is wonderful. I felt like I was leaving friends at the end of my stay and plan to see them again.

Pat and Joe are experienced, kind and gracious hosts. My stay was very enjoyable. The garden is a wonderful bonus for relaxing, reading, or meeting other guests -- Truly a beautiful retreat. Location is very good -- away from Centro in the midst of a fairly quiet Mexican neighborhood with several tiendas for whatever you require. The bus and taxi service is superb -- just outside your door. This was my first visit to San Miguel, and I hope to return and stay there again next year. If you're considering their casitas, you'll have a wonderful experience.

We stayed with Joe and Pat for four weeks and the entire experience went far beyond our expectations: Pat and Joe are generous, accessible, knowledgable and experienced hosts; their amazing home is beautiful and fascinating, with a new piece of art to notice and admire at every turn; and the location was perfect for us, as we wanted to be "near" but not "in" the middle of the downtown area. The studio apartment worked well; we liked the other rooms, too. We were very sorry to leave and will return again and again.
