Looking to get away and enjoy some time in the country? Come drive down our tree-canopied dirt road and visit our working farm in Madisonville, TX where you can relax, fish, hike, bike ride, grill, enjoy a campfire, and take in beautiful sunsets.

The space
Welcome to the Cabin at Fossil Tree Farm! Our name comes from the many fossils and fragments of petrified wood on the property. Two large pieces are worked into the landscaping at the main house. You may discover more if you walk around the pastures.

The Cabin at Fossil Tree Farm is a log cabin located on a working ranch with 162 acres. It seems to be 100 miles from no where. In actuality, the town of Madisonville is only 4 miles away, Bryan/College Station is only 35 miles, and Huntsville is just 20 miles south. The Cabin is available by day, week or month.

The Cabin is a fully furnished log cabin featuring: one bedroom downstairs, sleeping loft for two (only accessible by climbing a ladder), a full kitchen, washer and dryer, gas grill, and satellite TV.

Guest access
You'll have access to the beautiful back yard and anywhere else that you want to explore, remembering that it is a working farm and if you choose to explore the farm, you have to be responsible for keeping yourself safe around the animals and machinery. Just remember, if you go through a gate that is open, leave it open; if the gate was closed, please close it behind you.

Other things to note
Please note that there is one queen bed and 2 single beds. The singles are only accessible by climbing a ladder. This makes the space comfortable for about 4 people, and may not be ideal for small kids who can't navigate the ladder or need to get up during the night.

Neighborhood? What neighborhood! That's the beauty of the place. There is only one other house located on our road nearly a mile away. We are at the end of a dirt road and that's the beauty of it.

Adam and I work in Houston, but when our son was born, we wanted a place that would allow our kids to have some space to roam. We also wanted to bring my mom, Marguerite, closer to us. Fossil Tree Farm is that place. It is a working ranch with a small cabin that we run as a bed-and-breakfast. We raise cattle, sheep, goats, chickens, pigs, and who knows what else!! There are always new arrivals to check out. Marguerite does the day-to-day operations, with ready assistance from the rest of us. The kids love all the excitement of farm equipment, animals, and new adventures. We hope you'll come visit us!

During your stay
One of us is always around the property. After all, the milk cow needs milking twice a day, everyday! We won't bother you if you want peace and quiet, but if you want to come check out whatever is going on, you're welcome to.
