1 bedroom, 1 bath that accommodates up to four comfortably.
The hallways were recently painted and new carpets installed, but there is still construction taking place at the front of the building, typically on weekdays from 8-5 . .There are also construction materials stored at the back of the building. Please be aware that due to the renovation there may be scaffolding, dust and construction activity in some parts of the building while you are here.
The front door may be closed for construction in January or February in which case access will be through the side doors. Beach access will not be affected.
We have for these reasons kept our rates reduced, we just don't want anyone to be surprised! Most people find the value at our place to be well worth it!
As you can see in the pictures the apartment has been fully updated and is very contemporary!
Very clean and modern design
KING bed in the bedroom and a leather sofa bed (which is actually quite comfortable) in the living room.
There's a high end kitchen with Gagganeau gas stove, microwave, full size refrigerator, convection toaster oven and even a wine cooler.
All sheets, towels, plates, cups, pots pans and utensils are included for your convenience.
There are also separate entrances to the bathroom from the bedroom and living room, so guests won't disturb each other.

The apartment is directly on the ocean and Ocean Drive, the beach is your backyard!! It also has a heated pool and coin laundry facilities on every floor.
2 flat screen TVs with over 100 cable TV channels
and all linens, towels, hair dryer, iron etc are provided.
Just bring your suitcase!
You most likely won't even want a car here, as everything is within walking distance, plus you can quickly and easily rent great bikes right down the street (from Deco Bikes) and leave them at various places anytime and pick them up again.
For anything further, like Downtown, Miami Seaquarium, Wynwood Art District there's great public transport, like buses and taxis, everywhere.
Free shuttles also run around the beach (they're the ones that look like oversized golf carts)
The exciting and rapidly growing Design District is also minutes away, with new high end shops and restaurants opening on what appears a weekly basis.
This is becoming the SOHO of the tropics and should really be experienced.
Key West is 3 hours and Disney World is 4 hours away by car.
The location of the apartment, south of Fifth Street (SOFI) is one of the most prestigious and special parts of South Beach.
It's a quiet neighborhood, with many exclusive restaurants, shopping, parks, close to major supermarket etc. This is a real local neighborhood but still only 2 blocks from the happening tourist area!
2 Blocks from Famous Nikki Beach, Prime 112 (where the Miami Heat basketball players and many celebrities hang out), Joe's Stone Crab, and much more.
Lots more great restaurants close by, I'm happy to give recommendations!

The apartment is about 15 minutes from the Miami airport.
There's a city bus for less than $3 or take a taxi for about $30.
You will definitely love this apartment and location!!
About the neighborhood, from NY times article Feb 2013:
"South of Fifth has emerged as the most expensive section of Miami Beach. A string of high-rise condos along the water, which were at the center of the struggle over the city’s development 15 years ago, are selling apartments for record prices.

Due to the excellent location you can walk to pretty much all you should need.
If you do want to travel farther, there are plenty of buses and taxis everywhere.
There's also a great bike rental program just down the street, you can pick up and leave the bikes at any station.
Other Things to Note
Early check in or check out up to one hour may available on a case by case basis.
Notice must be given when making the reservation and owner must confirm acceptance. Any more than one hour will incur an additional $25 fee per occurance.
Deposit will be instantly forfeited if apartment is smoked in, some of our guests are very sensitive to the smell.
This information can also be found on the sticker on bottom of the router.
Lost keys will be a $100 charge, please be careful!
Also, if the door fob gets wet (ie: if you go in the ocean with it!) it will be damaged and cost $100, this is what they charge us to replace them.
Ted is a nice guy and very responsive.. The place could be better.. Damp and smell problem.. Found water leaking under kitchen sink.. Shower not clean. Kitchen lights work by remote and hard to control. 4 people would definitely be cramped.. Location is awesome!!
Having said this, I think Ted will get it fixed up better for the next guest. He called in a plumber right away but who wants to deal with that on vacation..
Before booking.. Ask Ted if there is still a smelliness/damp/ stale problem at number 223.
As the guest mentioned, there was a leaking faucet in the kitchen
and a previous guest apparently placed a container under it to catch the water.
I contacted a plumber within minutes of the guest letting us know, and he was prepared to head right over to replace the faucet. The guest did not want it repaired at that time, but wanted to wait until after he left. We accomodated his request, and the minute the guest did depart the plumber was there and replaced the faucet.
There is no ongoing dampness or smell!
Please take the time to read the other reviews for this apartment, it is very well maintained and our guests have been very highly satisfied, including many groups of 4 people.
Ted was a great host. Guests have complete privacy the entire trip yet Ted is always available to answer any questions you may have. The apartment is cozy and has everything you need, even beach towels. The beach is ridiculously close and the best part is after you are done at the beach, having a soak in the building pool. Also while south beach can get pretty crazy (or very crazy) the building area is quieter than you would think while still being close to all local shops. I'd recommend this place easily over any of the local hotels or motels. And for the price you can't go wrong.
We had a great time in the apartment. The pictures are exactly what the place looks like as well. One of the best parts is the direct access to the beach from the back of the building. There is construction going on in the front of the building and in the area but it did not bother us at all. It is in a great location that is close enough to the south beach strip but far enough that its quiet and tranquil. There are a number of restaurants and a supermarket and Walgreens walking distance. Overall great stay!

My first time using this site and my first staying with airb&b and it was truly amazing the stay was nice, the place was great all updated appliances, and close to the beach, Ted was really nice and attentive to any question I had while stating here I will definitely be using this site more often and I would recommend this place to anyone who like an on the beach feel.
Thoroughly enjoyed my four night stay in Ted's apartment. The place is comfortable and the perfect size for one or two individuals. It is in a great location just south of all the hustle and bustle of Ocean Drive so while you are only a few blocks away for easy access there is peaceful quiet. There is a great little store on block west for any supplies that you may need or also a Publix within 15 minute walk. Don't miss Big Pink (diner) that is only a few blocks away for great breakfast or lunch.
