Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Midcentury cabin, knotty pine walls, Big Chill appliances, vintage and retro furnishings, Wifi and cable, smart tv, we dust like crazy but we cannot eliminate every speck of dust, soft and medium mattresses,
Kcup coffee maker, condiments, washer dryer. Basic pillows and clean blankets but you may want to bring your own.
I use Pine Sol. No smoking, Fenced back yard for pets and BBQ, patio chairs. 4.5 mls from Big Bear ski resorts, Village about 5 mls. HIDDEN MICKEYS. Wood burning fire place.

The space
PET FRIENDLY AND RUSTIC so if you have pet allergies or do not like the smell of pine or a wood burning fire place, this may not be a good fit for you. No smoking or vaping is allowed in the cabin or near the front doors. It is a two bedroom cabin built in the 1950s. Think the 1961 movie The Parent Trap. There is a code phrase hidden in the descriptions so please send it to me when you make your reservation. I want no misunderstandings. The cabin is decorated with real midcentury furniture and appointments therefore extra care must be shown because these items cannot be replaced without incurring great expense. Mickey Mouse is hidden about. Modern amenities such as cable TV, smart tv with prime/netflix/hulu access, WiFi, stacked washer and dryer, microwave, iron and ironing board and central heating. Enjoy your coffee or tea in the morning while sitting on the porch. This a great couples get away, a friend's weekend or a mini vacation and you can bring your best friend, your pet! This is our second home so we know that you will treat it with care and respect. When you stay, you will feel like you have come home but do not stay here if you are looking for a spa or high end hotel. It has everthing you need to be comfortable. I try to provide as much detail on the location but be sure to check the map so the location fits your needs. We want you to enjoy your stay. Thanks!!

Guest access
PET FRIENDLY AND RUSTIC: You will have access to the entire house and backyard. We use the garage for storage so it is not available. It is single story and is not on a slope so no slipping or falling on ice. Two cars can park in the driveway. We only ask that you treat the cabin with respect and let us know if you broke or damaged something. It is very saddening when we find missing or broken items. This our family cabin so we know you will treat it with the same love and respect that we do. Enjoy!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pick up after your pets. Unfortunately some of our guests have left pet mess in the back and front yards, and little children or adults can step in it. NO SMOKING OR VAPING in the house or near the front or back doors. Thanks!

Other things to note
The cabin has a permit to operate so it has been approved by the County. I wash and change the linens and towels after each stay. I wash the dishes and plates in our dishwasher next door to ensure they are sterilized. Keep in mind that this is a pet friendly cabin and not a "party" type place. It is rustic and we make all efforts to keep it dust free but keep in mind it is in the woods. Therefore, this may not be a good fit for people with pet allergies or who are very sensitive to smells such as pine sol or wood burning fire place. Also, be sure to pick up after your pets in the front and back yards and no smoking. One bed mattress is soft (smaller room) and one bed mattress is firm (larger room). Finally, the ski resorts are about 4.5 miles west of the cabin and the Village about 5 miles west. We have a back yard to safely store your gear. Because Big Bear has a high risk of fires, absolutely no fire pits or chimanies are allowed on the property. If a guest uses either or both on the property, you could be fined and I could lose my permit to operate and it could result in the cancellation of the reservation. When you make a reservation please email me telling me you have read Disney's rules. It is silly but it gives me assurances that you know the cabin and its unique characteristics. Thanks!!

Location

Big Bear, California, United States

The neighborhood is family friendly. We are set far enough back that you have a little privacy while being able to relax outside. This is a great neighborhood for walking, riding bikes and you can walk to the Community Market. The mountain transit stops at Big Bear Boulevard and Greenway. Note: Vons and Stater Brothers are about 3.1 miles away. Bear Mountain and Snow Summit are about 4.5 miles away and the mountain transit stops at both locations. I have recommendations in the cabin on what to do and where to eat. I will also text you before your stay with suggestions, road conditions and other things so your stay is the best ever.

During your stay
I will be available by cell, email and text. My daughter is local and is available 24/7. I also provide my husband's contact information. I just ask that my guests let me know an accurate number of guests. when they plan on arriving and how many pets they plan on bringing. And please, if you have an issue, coffee maker not working, shower head too powerful, please let me know while you are there so I can fix it or replace it. Thanks
