Stay in my seriously cool loft located in Lower East Side, the most lively, eclectic and fun part of Downtown Manhattan, while I travel. This place features:
- spacious open space with exposed vintage brick walls, 2 old decorative fireplaces, 4 huge windows overlooking Williamsburg bridge and lower Manhattan with vintage fire escape stairs, that can double as a terrace / balcony (if you are not afraid of height and not going to fall out from of it);
- ridiculously comfortable contemporary Italian designer king size bed with top of the line European( Flou) mattress and high-end 100% natural down pillows (alternative down pillows are available too), a 100% down comforter, and Egyptian cotton sateen sheets;
- two sleek modern sofas that each convert into a comfortable double 45'' wide beds (extra bedsheets and pillows are available);
- a contemporary glass and chromed metal dining table for 6 with leather chairs (I can add another two chairs to those 4 you see in the pictures on request);
- quality chef's kitchen with polished granite counter tops, all new stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, large fridge with freezer and ice maker, separate wine cooler, fancy pots and pants, tableware and glassware;
- breakfast table / island with two counter stools;
- beautiful marble bathroom with full bathtub, Belgian linen shower curtain, plush quality towels, an powerful hairdryer, enough room for your toiletries in the medicine cabinet and drawers;
- Washer and Dryer in the apartment. You can only appreciate this if you've lived in New York and know how rare of a luxury this is in a city apartment.
- a large walk-in closet with mirrored wardrobes and place for all you stuff, so none of it is in your way. My stuff will be there too, neatly stored aside.
All of that comes in a new, immaculately clean condition.
Now, the downsides:
1. 5th floor walk up, no elevator, unattractive building.
Yes, this beautiful apartment is located on the 5th floor of a far not the best looking building, with NO elevator. I know, carrying bags up the stairs on arrival and down when you are leaving may be annoying. Otherwise, that doesn't really feel like a big deal if you are young and healthy.
2. The noise of the city.
The apartment is not quiet at night, as it is located in the middle of the liveliest part of Downtown Manhattan and next to and one of the most popular night clubs in the area. You can hear crowds hanging out on the street by the building from Thursday through Saturday. The Williamsburg bridge traffic can be heard day and night as well. I personally love that, because I have no problem sleeping with those sounds (I don't notice them) and all of that sounds so much like New York. But if you are a light sleeper and sensitive to sounds, you should consider using earplugs or booking a place in a different area.
About the area: Lower East Side is the most eclectic, free spirited, creative and fun area of Manhattan with its amazing restaurants, bars, art galleries, designer boutiques, rich history and indescribable night life . The area's famous clubs and live music venues are the hottest destination for crowds from all of the NYC. At the same time, it's way more real and New York's original than the New Jersey-fied Meatpacking district or touristy West Village and SoHo. It's probably (or definitely) not the right neighborhood to stay if you're a traveling with children or elderly family members, but the best place to be if you're young, adventurous, like partying, going out, live music, dancing .
It takes 2-3 min to walk to the closest J, Z, M, F subway station, 5 - 10 minutes walk to Little Italy, Chinatown, Soho and Nolita. You can also reach Williamsburg in 15 - 20 minutes by walking across the Williamsburg bridge .
The local restaurants, bars, art galleries and boutiques are way too many to describe, or even mention here. Your food, drinks or entertainment choices in this area can be overwhelming.
I would be happy to provide any local recommendations on request.

Martina's LES Designer Loft is exactly what the description is. My brothers and I were in the city for studio sessions and this was one of our best stays in New York. Our friends would come over and say we were living more New York than them:) proximity to the train was great. The neighborhood is chock full of great little eating places from mom and pop spots to the mass produce giants like Dunkin. Marina was very helpful and the place was clean and exactly as it was described. The walk up is a bit of a workout and it'(email hidden)ly neighborhood so don't expect dead silence...ever. Great time and great stay. Will be working with Marina in the future.
This is a gem in the rough! What a spectacular place hidden up on the 5th level of a LES walk up. Every thing is at your door step at this studio and the buzz of the city makes this place feel very alive. The open concept is really great for having a few folks over and the kitchen would be awesome for cooking. Marina has incredible taste in furnishings and you really feel as though you're in a very posh loft when you're here. We even managed to do a photo/video shoot in here against a gorgeous brick wall utilizing a lot of Marina's great taste in decoration.
Location. So many incredible LES restaurants and cafés around and lots to see in walking distance. Easy to get to in a cab as it's right at the bottom of the bridge (easy for any airport in a cab) Subway stops nearby also.
The furniture, kitchen, bathroom and linens are all gorgeous and make you feel very at home. Anything you would ever need can be found in this apartment.
If you don't like the sound of the city you might not love this location. The crickets won't be heard up here. It's alive (good or bad!)
The loft is a pleasant surprise in an otherwise run down building. The entrance is a bit shady and is on a block that could use some upkeep. Once you're up the stairs and in the apartment you forget all about it though.
Marina will make your stay luxurious. If you have the pleasure of meeting her in person when you're there you will leave having met one of the most interesting people in New York. She's sweet, accommodating and downright smart.
I didnt actually stay in this apartment of Marina's in the end. She asked me to stay in another of her apartments nearby in East Village - https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1969663
The place was in a great location, clean and comfortable. Had a great stay in New York
Well, where to start? The best airbnb experience yet. The place was a dream and marina an absolute hero. Upon hearing of our difficulty to obtain anywhere over the busy New years period she kindly vacated her own home Loft especially for Us. Unbelievable. The place was impeccable with a very classy taste in design and layout. Had more than enough of everything we needed.
Amazing location right in lower east side at the foot of the Williamsburg bridge with some amazing restaurants and bars a stones throw away. Beauty and Essex, Katz deli, Clinton St bakery and the remedy diner all got quite a workout walkable even in winter and nonnas pizza right across the road I can safely say got totally eaten out of gorgonzola and pear pizza by us daily! The place was a little cramped for 3 guests with only the one king bed and 2 futons but we didn't mind so much, happy to have somewhere that amazing for the peak period we visited. WiFi and hot water was excellent and the key collection idea is genius.
The place was clearly well cared for well loved and super clean and tidy. Marina even searched hi and low for lost glasses upon our departure (which turned up in our luggage later anyway) and even tried to accommodate us last minute when JFK shut down and we were stranded for an additional night. Will be recommending marina and all her properties to all visitors of New York and hope to hit her up again on any return journeys I have there. One way to describe the stay, all class.
Marina was fantastic in accommodating a week long stay at 8pm on a Monday night after someone else cancelled our booking. She scrambled to make what had been a bad experience, better.
Her place is beautifully designed and has a great NY style to it.
It's on a main rd, so it's not the quietest place - but for us that was part of the fun of living in NYC for a week.
LES is a great spot, would highly recommend.
Loved the loft, loved the neighborhood, loved New York! All was as described in the brief. Would stay there again.
Marina's place was so lovely! My friend and i were there for 5 days, and stayed comfortably in her great studio. She was very helpful and easy to communicate with. We loved the great design of her place as well.
I had a great stay in Marina's apartment. Marina herself is very likable & was highly accomodating, and the apartment was in perfect order & as described. It was always a treat to return there in the evenings and the neighborhood is really nice with lots of good food & nice bars. I'd be glad to stay here again when in New York!
Everything was just great. We stayed in the apartment for 10 days and would return any time. Marina is a great host that helped us around in the first couple of days. Neighborhood is pretty noisy, so it's perfect only for younger people. Everything is exactly as described.
Close to subway
Entrance to the building looks scary, so don't be shocked when you arrive
