This tiny patch of grassland is surrounded by forest, from here we can see Daulagiri, Annapurna and Manasalu, all divine Feminine mountains with living pilgrimage traditions. Here, nature experience has a tradition of yoga practices in pilgrimage. The nature experience of the Mountain Inn carries with it an entrance to these Himalayan secrets.

There is no kitchen in the rooms and breakfast, lunch and dinner is served. As this room is a two hour forest walk down the mountain to the nearest biscuit shop, consider carefully what to bring. Daily 10-15 minute hot showers, but bring your own towel.

The kitchen is of the Adam Tribe Organic Farm. The buffalo and chickens provide fertilizer for the fields and
the daily cheese making. This is a restaurant and not in the village style of cooking.

The climb from Makanpur to the Mountain-Inn is through dense forest. Unless you are at home in the outdoors, we suggest you hire a guide. Anyone can do this climb, the village people use it daily, because the dense forest is above the Mountain-Inn.

Completely surrounded by forest, but just above the forest on a grassland crest, Mountain-Mother Annapurna is seen. This view is described in Mandala 5 Sukta 19 of the Rig Veda, more than 5000 years old. These associations come with the nature experience. The purpose is not to visit the owners. But they are there to help and serve you, but they are also living here for the nature experience.

Adam Tribe is a homestead on top of a mountain hill. The nearest neigbours are a one hour walk down the mountain to Makanpur village. The village is clean and the people are friendly. Ask anyone where the trail to Pakhure is, and the smiling reply makes you want to ask again. The mountain Inn is a 2-3 hour walk to Panchassee mountain, a nearby Vedic tradition yearly festival. This is an ancient holy place and where a Vedic hymn was composed: this could be a day-loop trek.
--------------
Food

The Mountain Inn has a simple kitchen but professional just like the simplicity of the fundamental-style of rooms. Organic and home made, the food is cooked on an old-fashioned North American wood stove. Here again, the focus is on an inner sustenance and so the menu is not complicated.
The physical exercise and fresh air may bring personal requirements that need to be carried up to the lodge with you. Remember that the nearest shop that sells biscuits, mostly, is a one hour walk through the forest down the mountain. Then you need to walk back.
The rice and vegetables are grown in the fields below the Inn.
The ghee and milk and curd come from the buffalo.
Like the birds and wind, this buffalo calls out to us in the day. But the simple purity of things at the Mountain Inn is found essentially in the mountain spring water.
In Himalayan culture, water is one of the holiest of nature symbols. Some local place names simply describe the quality of water found there. Our water comes from the inside of the sacred divine Himalaya, a goddess conception from a remote antiquity. We drink Her blessings in every glass. The kitchen of the Mountain Inn is there to serve pure water.
In Vedic hymns. From an age that ended 5000 years ago, Mountain-Mother Annapurna provides the food cooked in the kitchen. In the Mandala 5 Sukta 19 hymn of the Rig Veda, Annapurna is described as the “white-shining mother", just the way She looks from the Mountain Inn. Rice is the symbol of also of a spiritual sustenance that Annapurna provides. This perhaps why the local people are happy to eat the same food everyday.

If you are interested in this place and have any doubts - drop them and go! This is one of the most amazing places I've ever been to,, and there are few places in the world that you'll find like this. Even though I was at the base of the Himalayas, I felt at home. You can relax in the hammock, visit the animals, go for a trek, and find yourself here. And Fatima's cooking is just amazing: there's something spectacular about eating clean food from the garden as you sit overlooking the jungle mountains. I can't wait to return.

The most secluded and peaceful place to stay! Rooz and Fatima are wonderful hosts and the food they cook is beyond words! Everything is freshly made from their organic garden and cooked in real fire. The views are also breathtaking. Expect a rustic, back to basics sort of accomodation.

If being in the Jungle with very cool people of the earth is your thing this is the only place for you. So special and authentic. Rooz and Fantima are Irianian by birth but Nepali by the jungle. Adam Tribe has vista views of Himalayas. You can think of it as a place where Thoreau would have loved to live if he had not found Walden. The accommodation is basic but it manages to refurbish ones all senses. Considering the fact it is miles away from a major city, our expectation for food was minimal. I had read in previous reviews that Fathima is a great cook, but I did not think she can do much in middle of the winter. Boy was I wrong! Fresh Buffalo milk and cream, honey, vegetables from the green house, and rice that was harvested previous season; our meals were sourced fresh from their land. Fathima and Rooz have managed to combine the eastern resourcefulness with western sensibility. All I can say is that we are still talking about the food we had at Adam Tribe. Both Rooz and Fathima were gracious hosts and spent their free time showing us around. They did everything in their power to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed for only 2 days but I wish we could stay longer.

We were greeted at the top of our long stair climb by police geese and a feeling of gratitude and accomplishment. Roos and Fatime welcomed us warmly with fresh cold water and a place to rest on their patio overlooking the beautiful terraces of the farm. The climb up was an experience in itself, from River valley to hill top on an impressive stone stair case. There were lovely resting places along the way, some with spring water taps or small temples. It passes through the village of Makhampur, one of the most beautiful villages we saw in Nepal. The care and craftsmanship of its citizens is clear in the houses, the paddies, the walls and of course the stair. Durring our short stay at Adam Tribe we were glad to spend a few hours assisting in the ever present work of moving stones. The guest room building is built of the stones of an old building just outside the walls of the farm. We were digging up and hauling what's left to make a shower house. It gave us first hand perspective on what it means to build anything in those hills. Meeting Buzi, the resident mequaque, was also a very interesting experience and Rooz and Fatime patiently and kindly helped us to understand how to win her friendship and how to avoid her wrath. The lovely cats make excellent ambassadors. We were lead to understand we would be ordering our food from a menu, and there is a beautiful hand painted menu but I found it much more enjoyable to eat whatever Fatime was making and put in front of me. Everything was as fresh and local as food can be and every bite delectable. I would recommend to people who like to snack to bring what they want with them, and to pack out their trash when they leave. It was cloudy while we were there but in the morning the Anapurna showed themselves above the clouds. It is a sight I'll never forget, like looking into another world. Our visit to Adam tribe was a thoroughly enjoyable respite from the hotter, smokey valley. I would recommend it to anyone aventurous enough to get there and I look forward to returning.

I love living off the grid. "RAW LIFE". If you are thinking of making move or experiencing an off grid homestead lifestyle, I'm the guy to meet.

Me and Fatima made the organic farm "Homestead" at 2069 by Nepali Calendar or easy to say 2012, and from that day I became a farmer. We started our farm from scratch in a 20 years abandoned farm at 1715m above the sea level and it took us four years to get to the point that we started to accommodate people and make enough organic food to celebrate sustainable mountain life. We don't have freezer or refrigerator but our food is more fresh than any kind of commercial restaurants. It's called food from the garden to the plate. The water of the farm comes from the spring water source in heart of the forest. It helps to have the performance food at the farm. We cook on wood fire stove and our recipes comes out of the magical farm land. The way we cook is continental.

I offer small tour to my farm in the heart of forest in foot of the Himalayas. I also offer jungle trek, night walk, jungle camp and traditional farm training. I live in forest and mountain and I can share the idea of living in the nature.
