Great place. Sean & Jane were perfect hosts - accommodating, knowledgeable about the area, friendly - they even cooked me an excellent dinner one night.
i had a wonderful time staying at Sean & Jane's cute studio for 2 months. they were so helpful and knowledgeable of the area. the studio had everything i needed and more. the neighborhood was ideal for walking and was quiet. you are walking distance from many stores and restaurants. if you have a car there are many sight seeing to be done. loved it!
I stayed in Sean and Jane's studio for 6 weeks and it was very comfortable and pleasant. The studio is small, but had everything I needed during my stay, and Sean and Jane were welcoming, responsive hosts. The neighborhood felt safe, and it was within walking distance to shops and short driving distance to all of the amenities of downtown SLO.
I really didn't have any needs because the room had everything I needed and things that I hadn't even thought I might need. The one time I called the hosts contacted me right away.
My friend and I were looking for an affordable place to stay in SLO for a girls weekend. Sean and Jane's studio was wonderful and very private. It was nice to have a place with two separate beds, as most places on airbnb have queen beds. The studio was perfect for our needs and I would definitely stay there again!
I had the pleasure of staying in Sean and Jane's studio for 3 months while I did contract work on the central coast. The studio was a quiet, cozy refuge from my job and a great location in SLO. Perfect for one person, although there is a trundle bed for overnight guests. You can walk to the bus if you want to take it downtown. Walking distance to the airport. Coffee shops and restaurants within a block away. Sean and Jane are great hosts who make sure you have everything you need and respect your privacy.
I've just spent approximately three months as the Goodwins first guest in their lovely Garden Studio and would definitely recommend it to anyone wishing to spend a few days, or longer, in San Luis Obispo.
It is located in a safe, family neighborhood on the south side of San Luis Obispo, convenient to everywhere and especially to the local wineries, quick trips to the beaches, hiking, walking, etc. The walking/biking paths just off the neighborhood are a real treat and downtown (don't miss the Thursday night Farmer's Mkt) is just a short drive. Jane & Sean are a very nice and hospitable couple and I have enjoyed having their pets visit while sitting in the sun on the very pretty patio. The private entrance, bath and kitchenette area were just what I needed for independent living while on an extended visit to be close to family. I found all I expected from the description and more! This studio would be ideal for a parent of a Cal Poly student when in town, a great alternative to a more expensive hotel room, especially during graduation week, and perfect for someone in the area temporarily for work or pleasure and looking for longer term, comfortable, accommodations.
About the Host, Sean & Jane
We are Sean and Jane Goodwin.
Jane is a native San Luis Obispian. She loves to go wine tasting and is a wine club member at several of the local wineries.
Sean is a California native. He has 5 brothers and has lived in several parts of the state, including San Diego before settling in San Luis Obispo. He spent 6 years in Dallas, Texas working for American Airlines before returning to San Luis Obispo to work for American Eagle Airlines. Sean retired after 30 years with the airlines. Sean enjoys all types of boating and sailing. He has also recently started to learn to fly radio controlled helicopters and airplanes.
We met while working for Wings West Airlines. We went on one date back in 1988, became married, and have been together ever since. The date continues 25 years later!
We live in one of the most beautiful parts of California and it is a world renowned vacation destination. Our favorite travel destination is to stock up our HouseCar and pick up some fresh caught seafood from Old Port pier, then BBQ it beachside for a lovely sunset dinner at one of the many parks along the coast. We also will jump in the HouseCar and head up to Santa Margarita Lake for a relaxing weekend of camping, boating, and wildlife watching when the temperatures are hospitable there.
