My girlfriends and I had an unforgettable trip to Joshua tree and it was almost completely because of the perfect vibe Laura and Mark's place provided. The house is a dream! They were wonderfully helpful and accommodating. Each room and space of the house has its own special something. We will DEFINITELY be coming back as soon as we can! LOVED our choice here.
We had a great stay in Laura & Mark's beautiful desert oasis home. The house was absolutely amazing and was in the perfect location for exploring the nearby Joshua Tree National Park. We really enjoyed having a the hot tub under the stars and chilling out in Laura & Mark's home.
News Flash! Time travel is indeed possible! Get your Don Draper on and spend some time in this amazingly curated Mad Men-era retreat!
Mark and Laura have brought the original (and perfectly maintained) architecture of this mid-century home to life with well-chosen period furnishings, art, books, records (yes, a huge vinyl collection) and 3 different stereo systems to play them on. This spacious abode offers many different and inviting areas to hang out in, both inside and out. The house was spotless, the pantry and kitchen well-stocked, the towels fresh and plentiful. In fact our family found the space so comfortable and inviting that we had no real desire to venture out except for a short visit to Joshua Tree National Park which has an entrance 15 minutes away. The property is far enough from the main road and from other houses to be quiet and private, yet just a few minute's drive to services, groceries, etc.
We are so grateful to Mark and Laura for sharing what is clearly a labor of love. Mark was very responsive to our needs, which were few, since everything was provided! We would return without hesitation.
Our visit was great to JT and the house, property, beds (great mattresses) made it that much more special. The Hosts have not overlooked anything to insure guests have what they need to feel welcomed. Thank you Mark for making my first trip to JT comfortable and relaxing. This "wired" NewYawker needed it.
What a wonderful place! We enjoyed our stay so much - it was a mid-century desert dream house. Super conveniently located right down the road from Joshua Tree National Park, come prepared to BBQ, soak, and hammock away your city stress. We definitely are already planning our next stay!
This was simply one of the best places we've ever stayed. The hosts were helpful upfront, but more importantly the house itself is a rustic treasure trove of art and music. Combine that with the tranquility of the desert and you get a place we 100% hope to return to soon.
