About this listing
Our apt (90sqm / 1.000sqft) is in a 1893 historical building with big bedroom, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and living room
Centrally located in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin's most beautiful area, in a quiet street w/ nice restaurants, cafés and lots of green!
You will have an entire 90sqm apartment (about 960 sqft) at your disposal, including a bedroom, two bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen.
The apartment is very convenient if you are traveling with heavy luggages since we live on the mezzanine floor (just 4-5 steps), just in front of the entrance on the right.
Wireless internet is of course included, we have a cable connection which is very fast (16Mbs). The password is written on the fridge.
There are 2 TVs in the apartment: one in your room, where you can watch numerous international channels, and one in the living room, to which you can connect your computer to watch movies or videos with the HDMI and mini-display port connectors provided (this TV is not connected to the cable).
The bedroom is fully furnished, with loads of wardrobe space, and a big 140cm bed ideal for 1 or 2 people + a child (who can use the armchair that pulls out into a bed)
The kitchen is also at your disposal. Pots, pans, etc. are easy to find. Just make yourself at home :) You have space in the fridge and in the cupboards to store your stuff. You can also use the oven and microwave.
We also have a washing machine + dryer which can be used as well.
Towels and bedsheets are included.
Interaction with Guests
We will welcome you and hand-over the keys; in case we will be traveling, the cleaning lady will do the same.
If you have any questions,we are always available via telephone or email, and we get back to you in a matter of minutes!
The area is one of the most trendy neighborhoods in Berlin, with lots of shops, bars and nice restaurants, all reachable by foot; we can provide you with list of the best places to eat and/or have a drink, please just ask (or check the guidebook in our profile).
The area is very quite and green, with a few cars passing by; it's also very safe (thanks to the two police stations in the area). In front of the house there is a church famous for having been the place where the peaceful revolution started (don't worry, the bell rings only during the day ;)
Mauerpark, also known as („wallpark” because of the Wall which passed through it) is just 20 minutes away, there you can relax or visit the famous flee market on Sunday.
In the area you can find several shops and supermarkets:
- mini-market next to our place, on the left
- Supermarket, postoffice and several shops in the Schönhauser Arkaden mall (5 minutes from home, behind the church on the left)
- Kaiser's (supermarket), Pappelallee 45 (5 minutes walk, first street on the left taking a right when leaving home)
- Kiepert & Kutzner (organic supermarket), Schönhauser Allee 65 (10 minutes walk, second left taking a left when leaving home)
The apartment is 10-15 minutes from the center (Alexander Platz and the television tower, an ideal point to start exploring the city), reachable by subway (S-Bahn and U-Bahn Schönhauser Allee), tram, bus all 3 minutes away by foot.
Airports are conveniently reachable: Schönefeld is directly connected to the line S9 (S-Bahn) and Tegel by S41/42 + bus TXL. The main station (Hauptbahnhof) is connected to U2 to Alexander Platz + any S-Bahn going westward.
If you want to rent bikes, at the corner with Greifenhagener Straße (one minute walk when leaving the apartment on the left), you can find some for a decent price; just ask in the café Gina M.
Really, you couldn't find a place strategically better positioned in Berlin!
Other Things to Note
When booking please let us know your arrival and departure times, so that we can organize it accordingly.
Check-in is after 15:00 and check-out is before 12:00 (noon), but we are flexible according to the availability (if there is no other guest coming you can stay until the afternoon and arrive in the morning). So let us know before you arrive so that we can find a solution which is best for you!
Out of respect for others guests we don't allow smoking in the apartment; since the apartment is located on the mezzanine floor it's super convenient to smoke in the yard or in the front of the house.
Small size pets are allowed, so please leave your Saint Bernard at home ;)
Also please don’t download anything since it’s illegal in Germany and it gets enforced, this means we’ll get a letter from a lawyer asking for damages (it already happened)!fffff
Stayed at Andrea's place four nights in July 2015. Everything worked perfectly, Andrea was very helpful and gave lots of good tips for the local area, and the apartment is in a great neighborhood. Great experience!
The apartment was beautiful and conveniently located. The bathroom and kitchen were attractive and well stocked.
From A to Z, the experience was well-organized, easy and lovely! Andrea was in contact with me before my stay ensuring that everything would go smoothly upon arrival, including a secret key location worthy of a film. Once installed, Andrea checked in and made sure all was going well. A thoughtful and generous host, he even left an iPhone for us to use in case ours didn't work. Most helpful was the list of neighborhood restaurants and bars. We had fun going down the list and trying everything this wonderful neighborhood has to offer.
The apartment is on the ground floor facing the street (but not noisy) and easily accessible. Neat and clean with very easy access to public transport.
Would most definitely come again!
Great experience staying here! Andrea makes visiting Berlin so much easier and really makes it a better overall experience. He even leaves an iPhone 5C with a data plan on it for you to use! Would definitely recommend staying here!
This is the second time we've stayed in Andrea's flat - it was so good we had to come back! The flat is superb - large, airy, well-equiped (Andrea has a great selection of books, if you have the time for reading...). In addition, the flat is fantastically located - just 5 minutes from the U-Bahn/S-Bahn, and Prenzlauer Berg is a great neighbourhood - lively in the evening, but plenty of really good cafes for relaxing with friends in the day. I have to say, it would be difficult to find a better combination of great accommodation and fantastic location.
Andrea is easy to communicate with, and his cleaning lady is wonderful!
Super espacioso. Volvería a rentarlo sin pensarlo.
I stayed in Andrea's apartment for two weeks. I wish I could have stayed longer! The apartment itself is very elegant and clean with lots of light coming in the front room during the day. Although I never got the chance to meet Andrea, he was extremely accommodating and very friendly. He left me a fully charged iPhone with a German data plan, which was a nice touch! I got myself locked out of the apartment one night and he even offered to pay for the locksmith that I called! I would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much, Andrea!
