We spent a terrific February weekend in Greg's Greenport home. The house is gorgeous —cosy, spacious and wonderfully decorated, in a charming town that was very friendly and felt quite lively despite the offseason. We made much use of the living room fireplace, as it was still chilly out and, although we spent very little time in these outdoor spaces, were charmed by the rear-facing patio and upstairs balcony. Communication with Greg went smoothly. After we finished our airbnb negotiations, he sent us a rental contract to be signed; while this wasn't a problem for us, I did notice that the cancellation policy was different to that given by airbnb, so if this is a consideration I would consult with Greg in advance. He also sent us detailed information about the house and surrounding area, which was extremely useful (there is a binder full of contact information and local suggestion in the house as well). Overall, a place we would wholeheartedly recommend!
We stayed at Peace & Quiet by the Sea for the first few days of
January 2014. The house is absolutely beautiful and centrally located in Greenport. During our stay we experienced a pretty major snowstorm and some very chilly weather. With all of the beautiful windows on the ground floor the house can get quite cold when temperatures are around 15 degrees. We took full advantage of the fireplace and kept warm, although we were relieved when the temperatures headed back towards 30. Greg was an excellent host and very easy to communicate with. We're looking forward to a future stay when we can take advantage of the beautiful yard and nearby beaches!
I absolutely loved my stay at the boathouse. It is a gorgeous house, the architecture, the design, the mood, the light... all of it is fabulous. The living room is very cosy and so are the bedrooms. The kitchen is a great size for cooking and everything you could need is there. There is a lovely porch in the back . I highly recommend this house!!!
What a gem! Gregory has done an amazing job renovating this former boat house and making it a haven for vacationers. The house is beautiful, clean and equipped with a traveler's everyday needs (hairdryer, maps, wine glasses). The house was so great that we even skipped a couple meals out to dine in. Gregory was very responsive and has created a wonderful binder of area attractions and history. I'm looking forward to staying here again.
I rented Gregory's house for my father-in-law and his lady friend. I was able to stop by on a day trip during their stay and the excitement that my family had about this gem of a place was proven the minute I walked in the door.
The grand doors off the kitchen and living room we're incredible. The yard was perfect for cocktailing or in my case chasing a toddler around.
My wife's dada could not have been happier and wants to come back asap!
This house rental went far and above our expectations! Wonderfully designed, cozy, comfortable and impectably decorated with high end furniture and finishes. Greenport is absolutely awesome and the home is perfectly situated, walking distance from the town and great beaches! Can't wait to do it again next year if it will be available! Also, Greg was an absolute pleasure to deal with.
The reservation was canceled 41 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Gregory's house was exactly like the pictures. The decor is simple and modern, yet the house has a lovely old world charm to it. Very clean. He provided all the necessities for a short or long stay. He was even nice enough to provide a map of the town and wineries to me before my arrival. He knows what he is doing and knows how to make you feel comfortable in his home. A few short blocks away from the main area in town. Plenty of antique shops and great restaurants to visit. Located about 15-20 minutes from the wineries. I would love to stay in this house again in the future. A great find!
The Boathouse is absolute perfection!
We had a great New Years getaway at Gregory's Greenport house. Gregory is super nice and responsive, and generously gave us leeway with check-in/out times because of inclement weather. The house is convenient, well-appointed, not to mention beautiful! Looking forward to another visit when it gets warmer!
