Beautiful apartment in an 1880's converted historic warehouse, right in the heart of one of Melbourne's great neighbourhoods, located just off Smith Street, Collingwood.
Spacious, light-filled and with a rough, industrial charm, the apartment is open-plan. There is a large kitchen / dining space and an equally sizable living room space with a mezzanine level. This is where you will sleep! The double bed (on the mezzanine) is made up with fresh linen and there's also hanging space for your clothes. The space has huge north and east facing windows, 4.1m high ceilings and timber floorboards. It comes equipped with WiFi, TV/DVD, ipod/iphone player, washer, iron & ironing board, & a fully-equipped kitchen.
The bathroom is new and compact with a walk in shower, great fixtures and fittings and towels provided. An old free-standing claw foot bath tub in the kitchen is perfect for a relaxing soak after a day of exploring!
There is also a security entrance with lift access, although it's only a short flight of stairs up to level two.
Just a few minutes walk to Smith Street, Gertrude Street and Brunswick Street - the best coffee, food and wine is at your doorstep. Check out De Clieu, Proud Mary, Mina·no·ie, Rockwell & Sons, Huxtable (and Huxtaburger!), The Grace Darling Hotel, and Gorski and Jones. Not to mention great galleries and vintage furniture shops - Gertrude Contemporary Gallery, Dianne Tanzer, Smith Street Bizarre, Angelucci, the list goes on!
Fitzroy and the City are a short stroll away, but if you don't feel like the 20 minute walk into town, you could hire a bike - Our friend has a vintage bike hire company called The Humble Vintage. The number 86 tram (from Smith Street) also heads into town.
Our place is ideal for a couple or those traveling solo and spending some time in Collingwood is a must!

Had 6 nights in the loft apartment. Everything was as advertised. Great location and close to all the action. Trams and transport no problem. Very secure and great vibe. Alana and Peter were very easy to communicate with hand were very responsive.
We stayed in Pete and Alana's apartment for 26 nights during January of 2014, whilst relocating from Europe to Melbourne.
The apartment was a perfect base to explore the city. It was conveniently located very close to a tram line that ran directly into town - though we found that it was also a very pleasant walk, and spent most of the time exploring the area by foot. Just steps away from Smith St. there were certainly no shortage of cafes and restaurants to chose from, as well as a large supermarket over the road which made cooking at home a breeze.
The apartment itself was very thoughtfully set up for guests, containing everything required for a comfortable stay. Immaculately clean, uncluttered, bright and spacious the apartment was beautifully furnished, contained quality appliances and there was a wonderful selection of books available for a rainy day.
Although we didn't have the opportunity to meet Pete and Alana (who were way during our stay), all communication was prompt and clear and check in and out went without a hitch. It was the perfect introduction to life in Melbourne (and certainly set the bar high or finding our own apartment).
Peter and Alana are super lovely people and their home is inspiring. Their light filled loft is one of the most beautiful places I have ever spent time in. I would highly recommend anybody into staying in this perfect abode.
We loved our stay at Peter's apartment. It's huge, full of light and decorated beautifully. The location is perfect, just one block off Smith St and only 5-10 minutes further to Brunswick. Our check in and check out process was seamless. Great stay, would definitely stay again when next in Melbourne.
Location location location!
Bright, clean apartment in a funky part of town.
Would definitely book it again
Peter is a fab host and the apartment was absolutely lovely! Bright, quirky and in the best possible spot near Johnson and Brunswick where you can eat great food, listen to great live music and grab the best freshly made juices round the corner! This was such a treat and Peter is the first to share his knowledge on Melbourne and will go out of his way to help.
I booked a colleague to stay at this property and it was a wonderful experience by all accounts and we would recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful apartment in a fabulous location!
We spent 6 nights at the apartment and absolutely loved it from the moment we arrived.
Peter was really great to communicate with and very helpful when we arrived.
The apartment is in a perfect location right next to all the best spots in Collingwood/Fitzroy and provides you with everything you need. CBD is just a brief walk away.
Peter & Alana's style is lovely and makes the apartment very homey. Super comfortable bed and great bathroom, so we recommend this apartment 100%!
It also has one of the best coffee shops in Melbourne just across the road - Proud Mary's. Their coffee and food are just amazing!
Thanks Peter and Alana.
Peter and Alana were amazing - as was their place. They were flexible and very easy to communicate with. Awesome location - and a bright and wonderful apartment with lots of character. The newly remodeled bathroom was a real treat. We loved this place - it felt like home. Highly recommended!
Funky apartment in great location. Communication with Peter was easy and precise. He welcomed us at the apartment and suggested a place to eat that night. Greatly appreciated the bottle of wine he left. Very comfortable bed and one of the best showers I have had in an apartment! Easy to walk to shops, cafe's and bars. Really enjoyed the apartment and would stay again.
