Beautiful apartment in an 1880's converted historic warehouse, right in the heart of one of Melbourne's great neighbourhoods, located just off Smith Street, Collingwood.
Spacious, light-filled and with a rough, industrial charm, the apartment is open-plan. There is a large kitchen / dining space and an equally sizable living room space with a mezzanine level. This is where you will sleep! The double bed (on the mezzanine) is made up with fresh linen and there's also hanging space for your clothes.
The space has huge north and east facing windows, 4m high ceilings and timber floorboards. The bathroom is new and compact with a walk in shower, great fixtures and fittings and towels provided. An old free-standing claw-foot bath tub in the kitchen is perfect for a relaxing soak after a day of exploring!
There is also a security entrance with lift access, although it's only a short flight of stairs up to level two.
Our place is ideal for a couple or those traveling solo and spending some time in Collingwood is a must!
The Apartment comes equipped with WiFi, TV/DVD, ipod/iphone player, washer, iron & ironing board and a fully-equipped kitchen. As mentioned we leave fresh linen and towels for your stay. Once you're all booked in, make sure to check out our house manual on our air bnb profile to get the wifi code and general info on using the apartment.
Interaction with Guests
You will have to whole place to yourself! We generally try to keep our interaction to a minimum so you can enjoy your stay in peace. However, we do love meeting our guests on arrival and are always on call for any advice/help that you might need. We'll also email you a more comprehensive guide of our favourite things to do in the area!
The apartment is located just a few minutes walk to Smith Street, Gertrude Street and Brunswick Street - the best coffee, food and wine is at your doorstep. Check out De Clieu, Proud Mary, Mina·no·ie, Rockwell & Sons, Huxtable (and Huxtaburger!), The Grace Darling Hotel, and Gorski and Jones. Not to mention great galleries and vintage furniture shops - Gertrude Contemporary Gallery, Dianne Tanzer, Smith Street Bizarre, Angelucci, the list goes on!
Fitzroy and the City are a short stroll away, but if you don't feel like the 20 minute walk into town, you could hire a bike - Our friend has a vintage bike hire company called The Humble Vintage. The number 86 tram (from Smith Street) also heads into town.
We love our place and our belongings so we would ask that you would be respectful of our home and and love it as much as we do! We would love for you to leave it in the same condition you found it.
There is no smoking in our apartment.
Please don't entertain or bring anyone else home outside of who the booking was made for. We want to stay friends with our lovely neighbours!
Please do not publish photographs of our space that serve commercial purposes - if you wish to do so please ask us first.
Lastly more than a request than a rule - but we would very much appreciate it if you could water our family of plants throughout your stay!
Pete and Alana were great hosts. Pete met us at their place to hand over the keys and make sure we had everything we needed. Their place is beautiful and in a great location!! Lots of cool bars and amazing places to eat. Pete and Alana gave us lots of recommendations as well which was really nice of them and I think we ended up trying most of the places!
They were also easy to communicate with before and during our stay.
The place was everything that we expect from the pics and listing description so we were very happy with our stay and would definitely choose their place if we go back to Melbourne!
We loved the place, it was full of natural light and the contrast between the wooden floor and scattered lovely plans raised our experience to the next level! Highly recommended :)
Peter and Alana's loft was amazing. Exactly like the pictures. Amazing design, light, and really quiet. In the perfect neighborhood in the center of Collingwood but up a quieter street away from the street traffic. They were quick and easy to communicate with and the place was better than I could have imagined. I lived there for a month and would definitely return again!
We had a wonderful stay at Peter and Alana's house. We came in late from touring on the Great Ocean Road and they were completely accommodating, very easy to be in touch with.
The neighbourhood is amazing. There's a tram stop, grocery store and Gelato Messina at the top of the street. Handy. And Melbourne's best breakfast (and cup of coffee) is right across the road at Proud Mary. We couldn't have dreamed up a better spot.
The apartment is beautiful, stylish, warm, and exactly how it appears online. No surprises. We only have good things to say about this place. It was the highlight of a very nice trip.
Loved this apartment. It was the perfect place to stay on two week holiday return to Melbourne from living in London. Beautifully thought through design that has all the characteristics of Melbourne warehouse cool while being comfortable and well located. Peter and Alana were great hosts, completely attentive and unobtrusive at the same time. Collingwood has changed a lot since I was last there and there are so many great eateries and shops. It is also so central it was a great base for all we needed to do. We will certainly want to stay there again on our next visit and could not recommend highly enough.
We had a great time staying in Peter and Alana's place - it's a beautiful apartment (just like in the pictures!) and is in a really fantastic spot. Peter made us feel welcome and that they were on hand if we needed them. One small thing - you might want to bring earplugs as there was some construction noise from down the street in the mornings, but we got used to this pretty quickly.
Hi. It's Peter and Alana from Melbourne, Australia!
We are in our early 30's, i am in the wine business and Alana is an architect.
We like to explore fun places, drink nice wine, admire beautiful things.
This is our beautiful little home that we let out when we go away.
