Clean and cozy independent bedroom with air conditioning / heating and a private bathroom next to it. There is a fridge and a kettle in the room and free coffee, tea, orange juice, yogurt, bread, fresh fruit etc. There is no access to the kitchen or other areas. You will not share space with other guests but I do live in the flat. This is Airbnb's original idea: ¡Staying at someone's home! You'll have the comfort of a hotel and the warmth of a home at a hostel price.

The space
Hello, I am Víctor, host since 2003 (since 2013 with airbnb). I am a language teacher and I teach Spanish and English. I live in a nice and quiet apartment in the center of Granada where I have a totally independent room for my guests. The bathroom is private, that is, only you will use it, however it is not inside the room but next to it. There will be no more guests than you and your companion.

The room is bright, with a very comfortable double bed with a memory foam mattress and pillows and everything you need for a pleasant stay: a large wardrobe, table, chairs, luggage rack, full mirror and a refrigerator. In the room there is a kettle and everything you need to prepare tea, coffee or herbal tea, as well as orange juice, yogurt, bread, fruit and muffins included in the price. It is not a full breakfast, but you have it available all day in your room and it is free.

Very important: There is no access to the kitchen or other common areas and it is not allowed to prepare meals in the room.

There is a reliable WI-FI connection with good signal quality thanks to a good router right next to the room.

Upon your arrival I will give you a copy of the map that I have personally designed for my guests. You will see that despite being small it is full of valuable advice on tapas bars, places to listen to flamenco, buses, monuments, supermarkets, services and much more, all from the knowledge of someone who lives here and wants to pamper his guests.

There is no curfew here, you will have the keys and you can come and go whenever you want, but for the check-in it is really essential to agree on the arrival time since I need to organize myself. Remember, once again, this is not a hotel. It is my home!

Do not worry about privacy, the room and the bathroom are in a very independent area at the entrance of the apartment so, even if you leave early or arrive late, you will not bother anyone and nobody will bother you either because I only rent one room, so there will be no other guests.

The street is quite quiet and traffic is very restricted, but this is Andalusia and on weekends people go out late and there can be some noise. Small motorcycles can also be a nuisance on weekdays in the morning when people come to the centre to work but luckily there are double glazing on all the windows.

The room has inverter air conditioning (hot and cold)

From my house you can walk to all the monuments, tapas bars and most emblematic places of Granada, including the Alhambra (20 minutes on foot) although it should be remembered that the Alhambra is located at the top of a hill and the slope is quite steep. . For the less walkers, there is a bus that goes up to the door of the Alhambra every five minutes.

Where you’ll be

Granada, Spain

Right in the centre, in the old Jewish neighbourhood, although it was completely transformed 500 years ago by queen Isabel and king Fernando. It boasts beautiful palaces, churches and old houses. It is loved by locals, students and tourists alike. Its narrow streets are incredibly quiet, with little or no traffic at all, yet it is close to everything. It is probably the best place to live in Granada.

I am a calm, warm and friendly person and I am both a committed host and a constant traveller. I teach Spanish in Granada and I live in a cosy and comfortable flat in the centre, where I have my own classroom and a private room and bathroom for my guests. I have been hosting people from all over the world since 2003 (on Airbnb since 2012) and I always do my best to make sure they have a comfortable and enjoyable stay, helping where I can but also respecting their privacy. As a traveller, I have already been to some 50 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and North, Central and South America, and I have lived in Peru, Ecuador and the UK too. I guess I can say that my own experience as a traveller is my best ally when it comes to understanding what my guests might need, just as my experience as a host has helped me to be a better guest.

During your stay

I live in the flat. I like to talk and be friendly without invading the privacy of my guests. I have my job and other things to do as well and I cannot always devote as much time to my guests as I would like but I want them to know I'm there if they need me, and I will always give them as many tips as I can to make sure they make the most of their time in Granada.
