Hello Travelers! Welcome to Seattle! First, I want to thank you for taking the time to read my entire site. I believe all this information will be of benefit to you if you stay with me and if it's your first time. This is a room in the Volunteer Park area of the upper Capitol Hill neighborhood, most desirable area to live in in Seattle. It is approx. 20 mins non-peak hr. from the Seatac Airport and 5 mins from downtown by car. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, flexible check-in and check-out times, neighborhood known for its diversity and entertainment, a friendly host, you have come to the right place. It's really easy to get to my place.
** To get a quick approval, please read the entire description, have a good photo and a check-in time for me when you request a room.
It's so important to have a clear close up photo for your profile. This is also an Airbnb recommendation. This is safety for all involved. My photo should be an example. I have many looks, please check out all my profile photos.
You know how it is, make up vs. no make, hair up or down.
It makes sense that you want to know what your host looks like before you book and I should have no problem recognizing you as my guest when you arrive at my door if there is a clear profile photo of you.
I do not go by your verification with Airbnb, it does not confirm for me who you are. I would rather have a clear photo of your face and head. No sunglasses or hats. A color photo please.
If you try to give me your social media site Airbnb will block it.
And Airbnb blocks telephone numbers in the message before payment.
Once payment is complete you will receive confirmation with my address, phone number and more detailed directions to my place FROM Airbnb. PLEASE take the time to read it because it will save you time looking up the directions. I prefer all communications right here, texting or a call to my cell phone. If you have a phone, I prefer a call if you have any questions once you have arrived in Seattle.
Transportation to my place:
If you are coming from Sea Tac airport, you take the light rail link to downtown Westlake Station which is the last stop. Takes about 35 minutes. It costs $2.75 for adults. If 65 or older it is .75 cents. Children under 6 ride free.
A taxi from the airport is approx. $47-55 Shuttle express vanpool is $37.
You can purchase a one way ticket or you can put any value on an orca card which will be good for all buses, trains, rail and ferry. You can purchase the card from the light rail link machine at the airport or at the supermarket in my neighborhood. I don't recommend an orca card if you're staying just a couple days.
From downtown you can take bus 49 from Pike and 4th Ave.
A taxi ride is approximately 10 minutes and $10 (please check with driver first) Bus costs $2.25 and peak hours $2.50.
If you decide to walk, it's takes approx. 30 minutes. Your route to the house will be on busy streets with lots of shops and restaurants. Detailed instructions are given once you book.

There are several attractions in the park; a tropical plant conservatory built in 1912, the Seattle Asian Art Museum, children's playground and a historic brick water tower which offers commanding views of the downtown skyline and the surrounding mountains.
Next to the park is one of Seattle's oldest cemeteries, resting place for Seattle's founding pioneers and also where famous martial artist and film actors Bruce and Brandon Lee are buried.

Breaking News 2014:
A mammoth tusk was found at a construction site in South Lake Union and tusk was transported to the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture on the UW campus. We named it "Lulu"
I will need to make a copy of your driver's license or passport for verification as soon as you arrive. No outside visitors allowed in the house. Please take off shoes at the entrance. I would like to keep the floors clean. Slippers will be provided. No cooking in the kitchen because I've had guests complain about the smell. You can use the fridge, microwave and oven. Thank you for your understanding.
I stayed with Alexia on a layover en route to the San Juan Islands. I arrived late in the evening and Alexia was welcoming and provided suggestions for a quick dinner within walking distance. Her neighborhood is safe and quiet, but is also perfectly situated near many great restaurants & bars. For forgetful travelers, like me, there is also a large grocery store close by for any items you may have neglected to pack. The no shoes rule is enforced and explained in detail (take your shoes off right in front of the stairs and step onto the clean bottom stair without stepping anywhere else) when you arrive. Overall I was happy with my experience and glad I chose Alexia's home to stay in on my quick trip to Seattle.
My first AirBnB and was very awkward forgetting how to use keys and such, but Alexia was always available for any questions about the neighborhood and the lodging, and we had a nice morning tea. Very clean space and flexible checkin/out hours. Located in a nice, convenient neighborhood.
Alexia was a great host with tons of knowledge of the city and advice on what to do around here. In my case, I was looking for apartments in the area and she gave me good tips on what would be the best locations.
As for the room; exactly as listed: a clean, spacious and affordable room close to virtually everything by bus or walking.
I would recommend it without reservations.
Capitol Hills is a great neighbourhood and it's near to many shops. Good location and a safe neighbourhood. :)
Alexia was a wonderful host. I was only there for a day/night to go apartment hunting so she was very accommodating with check in time. The room was exactly what I needed. There is a lot of space for hanging clothes and even a vanity/desk which was great for doing hair/makeup. The bathroom was huge and the shower was very clean. Also, the location is perfect - right in Capitol Hill!
Only stayed here one night but it was great. I had to change my check-in a few times as my travel arrangements kept changing. Luckily Alexia was very accommodating with this. Room is exactly as described and was nice to have other people in the same building who were also guests!
This was my first airbnb experience. I wasn't sure about how it's gonna go but it turned out great and Alexia made sure of that! She accepted my request although it was my first time.
The place was comfortable and super super clean. Bed was more than comfortable. At the end of the stay Alexia even asked how the bed was and any feedback was welcome. Neighborhood was quiet but walking distance from action.
I highly recommend staying at Alexia's because you will not regret it!

After experiencing different Airbnbs in; Europe, Western Asia and Africa, I decided to be a host. As a guest, I like staying in a nice residential area to get a feel of what it's like living as a local. And it is also nice to have the host nearby in case I have any questions. I love traveling and I love sharing with travelers the best of Seattle.
I am here to make sure that you have the best AirBNB experience of your life.
The most important is good communication between you and me. I put a lot of thought into the description of my place because I want to make sure you enjoy your stay in this beautiful neighborhood. My place is minimally decorated for your comfort but tasteful and useful for your needs. I enjoy helping my guests plan their day around town. I do my best to accommodate as I understand that it can be their first and only time that they visit Seattle. I also like to promote Vancouver, BC because it's my favorite city and only 3 hours from here by car. If you're interested, let me know and I'd be happy to help you with your trip to Vancouver.
