Stowe is known as the ski capital of the east, and its old-world village defines charming. The village has over forty restaurants of every variety and price point. Activities range from skiing, snowshoeing, dogsledding, snowmobiling, and skating in the winter, to hiking, biking (road and mountain), fishing, canoeing, and shopping in the summer months. Nowhere else is fall foliage more spectacular than in Vermont's northern Green Mountains, and Stowe is in the middle of it all. In the winter there is a free shuttle bus that stops in front of the inn that guests can use to access almost all of the town.
Though we don't accept pets, you should plan on enjoying ours: Jimmy Jazz the cat and Max the dog.
The Auberge de Stowe was a nice find on Airbnb. Very central to Stowe and all it's activities and easy to find. Shawn and Chantal went out of their way to help me get to where I was going for the day or to give advice on one hike or another.
I had everything I needed plus a nice breakfast, which they changed up according to my diet. Very nice.
Shawn and Chantal were wonderful hosts for our group of 14. Their knowledge of the town, Stowe Mtn ski resort, where to rent skis, places to eat etc helped our entire experience of Stowe that much more incredible. The B&B has much character and hot tub out on the porch was a savior for sore legs. Definitely plan to go back again for a visit :)
Shawn and Chantal were so wonderful. They were available for every question we had about the accommodations, the area or even creative writing! Every morning at breakfast, we would spend an additional 30 minutes after our meal talking. They also had a hot tub on the deck that we made good use of every evening after our cold adventures.
Shawn and Chantal were the perfect hosts. They were very welcoming and had great info about the surrounding area. The room was very clean and the accommodations were perfect. I would certainly recommend a stay with this lovely couple.
Shawn and Chantal were wonderful hosts! They are extremely friendly and accommodating, and genuinely seem to really love meeting new people. They were very helpful in planning our stay in Stowe and were able to accommodate one more person at the last minute. Their b&b is great- comfortable beds, great breakfast in the morning, and I even was able to practice yoga outside on their deck! I hope to stay with them again in the future!
Booking a place online in a town you've never visited is always a bit of a crapshoot, but I lucked out with Shawn and Chantal's place in Stowe. It's modest, affordable, close to restaurants and shops, and there was a hot tub outside, along with a nice backyard. Shawn and Chantal are great hosts. I'm always wary of staying at a B&B because I don't like speaking before 10 a.m., especially to strangers, but Shawn and Chantal were a pleasure to talk to. They're genuine, funny and engaging, and full of good info and advice for what to do with your time in Stowe. I'd definitely stay there again.
Shawn & Chantal were great guests. Very helpful with advice on skiing and what to do around the area. the breakfasts were amazing! I would definitely stay at Auberge de Stowe again and would highly recommend them.
Reasonable and comfortable accomodations in a very pricey resort town. Chantal (email hidden), serving a yummy breakfast and suggesting that we hike the Mt. Mansfield ridge trail. Enjoyed our short stay (one night).
Shawn and Chantal were beautiful hosts. Our 14-person wedding party (with children) would certainly challenge any B&B, but they handled it willingly with abundant hospitality, graciousness and aplomb, providing numerous small touches that made our stay in Stowe simply wonderful. On the Going Above and Beyond scale for hosts they scored five stars. And the relaxed atmosphere helped us feel right at home (although immaculately clean and with more comfortable beds!). -Darry and Susan
Engaging, attentive, and friendly, Shawn and Chantal helped us get the most out of our trip to Stowe. Their Inn is a great value if you are on a budget and need a comfortable and convenient place to (website hidden) of all, they serve homemade preserves for breakfast!
