Stowe is known as the ski capital of the east, and its old-world village defines charming. The village has over forty restaurants of every variety and price point. Activities range from skiing, snowshoeing, dogsledding, snowmobiling, and skating in the winter, to hiking, biking (road and mountain), fishing, canoeing, and shopping in the summer months. Nowhere else is fall foliage more spectacular than in Vermont's northern Green Mountains, and Stowe is in the middle of it all. In the winter there is a free shuttle bus that stops in front of the inn that guests can use to access almost all of the town.
Though we don't accept pets, you should plan on enjoying ours: Jimmy Jazz the cat and Max the dog.
Guests have full access to the lobby sitting area, breakfast room with microwave and utensils, guest living room with gas fireplace, hot tub from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., television in guest living room (14 digital channels), and the 2-acre backyard that leads down to the river.
Interaction with guests
We are available from 6:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
If you are going to check in after 10 p.m., please call us and let us know so that we can make arrangements for self-check in. Kitchen is off-limits, and we hit the sack around here early, so if you're a night owl who needs entertainment and late-night eats, we can point you to a few places in town. A maximum of four people at a time are allowed in the hot tub, and the hot tub operates from 4 to 10 p.m. If you're watching television in the common room, please be respectful of other guests staying with us. Absolutely no smoking in the inn, but you're welcome to use the back deck; again, please be respectful of others. Sorry, no pets allowed, but you're welcome to enjoy ours.

We have been innkeepers in Stowe for 16 years. We offer simple, affordable, clean, comfortable accommodations. We have lived in many parts of the world, including Boston, Montreal, and France, to name a few. We enjoy meeting people and hosting folks from all over the world. Chantal was born and raised in France, and she has an extensive background in the hospitality industry. Shawn hails from the South Shore of Boston, and he's a writer and teacher. We were both ski instructors when me met, and that's one of the main reasons we settled in Stowe. We know the area intimately, and we'd love to meet you, so give us a call.
**Chantal recently went on a pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago, or, The Way, in norther Spain. This was a life-changing journey, and she would love to tell you about it when you visit us at the Auberge.**
