They so location is everything, and Wyndham Cottage couldn't have been better for what we wanted. Just 5 minutes walk to great restaurants, bars and food shopping (there is an amazing bakery just round the corner). Two tram routes are equally close, with the fab 96 running past just about everything you could wish for in Melbourne. Best of all for us just around the corner from our son's apartment.
Wyndham Cottage itself feels like a well kept secret, the first site its magical little garden a world away from the bustle outside. Everything is immaculate inside with cool white bedroom and huge bed, comfortable living area and great little kitchen space. Tea, coffee, milk, toiletries in profusion, cleaning kit, everything needed was there. Even Myki cards for the trams and a parking permit were available.
Carolyn answered the couple of questions we had almsot immediately, and there is a sense of a loved property in Wyndham.
Fabulous stay, I can't recommend more highly and if we are fortunate to get back to Melbourne again will be my first choice of stay.
The reservation was canceled 257 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Carolyn was very helpful and available either via email or call to entertain you query or request for help.
The cottage is superb in everything especially the details, visitors welcome pack with parking permit made available, coffee, tea & sugar to get you started, soap, shampoo and conditioner. Wifi also made available at no extra charge. We, family of 4 (2 kids) stayed for 3 nights and love it very much.
Thanks Carolyn. I enjoyed my stay in your very tidy and comfortable cottage; a great location and terrific courtyard. Cheers
the cottage is super super cute, nice and cozy
. I had fantastic time there...i felt home and not like in a hotel. I do 100% recommend the place, its near a charming area, near the park , harbour
Well, after living, working and playing in St Kilda since the 1970s, I thought I knew the area pretty well. Wyndham Cottage was a welcome and delightful surprise to my partner and me. It is remarkably quiet and comfortable considering its central location, including the courtyard garden where the doves cooing can be the only sound. I also appreciated the herbs and salad greens although I used them only sparingly in the well equipped kitchen. The bed was especially comfortable and relaxing. And even parking the car was easy. We want to go back. Thank you Carolyn.
As a long time airbnb user, I actually contacted Carolyn looking for some last minute accommodation in Melbourne for my best friend Alison and her boyfriend Michael, who were visiting from Perth for the week. Carolyn was so helpful! The first place Ali and Mick had checked into was an absolute nightmare so the experience with Carolyn was wonderful in comparison. According to Ali and Mick, the place was beautiful, spotless, awesome location and with all the extras like tea, coffee, fully equipped kitchen and washing powder. Carolyn was excellent with her communication and was so great helping my friends out of an uncomfortable situation. Thankyou so much!!
We were very happy to find Wyndham Cottage on Airbnb and stay at Carolyn's delightful flat. After almost a week in the CBD we were ready to move farther afield and enjoy the beach and pace of St. Kilda. We easily could have stayed there and commuted to the city on the convenient tramlines just a 5 minute walk away.
The Cottage looks better in person than in the great photos - very comfortable (with a great bed, linens and pillows!), well stocked kitchen and well appointed bathroom - a super layout for 2. The WiFi and washer/dryer were great additions when traveling. Carolyn had good materials on the local area and some great reading material - if only there was time to lounge.
We enjoyed the use of the barbecue although it was too cool to sit out under the umbrella in the patio. The enclosed garden is lovely, secluded and secure.
Carolyn was a gracious host and very easy to deal with - prompt and efficient. She seamlessly assisted when we had to amend dates - most appreciated.
The Woolworths grocer was close by and the local restaurants looked great (we decided to cook!) and so you can have the best of both worlds.
We highly recommend Carolyn and the Wyndham Cottage when looking for a place to stay in St. Kilda or the Melbourne area.
Staying at Wyndham Cottage was so fun!
It is really close to the beautiful ALbert Park where you can walk around the lake and watch the swans and birds.
There are great bars and restaurants all the way down Fitzroy street (500 metres away) and then in St Kilda which is about 10 minutes to walk to.
THe cottage was perfect. I cooked at home a lot while i was there. THe kitchen has everything you need. (and for groceries, IGA is on Fitzroy street about 5 minutes walk away)
The cottage is private and it feels as though you are living in your own little magical world. When i first walked through the gate in the evening and all the lights in the garden were on i felt so lucky.
Carolyn made sure there was milk in the fridge when i arrived- lots of different teas and some cookies too! It was a really heart-warming experience from the moment i arrived until i left.
I would happily stay again at Wyndham Cottage.
We had a wonderful stay at Wyndham Cottage. The personal touch made by Carolyn made it so much more special than staying at a hotel. Being our first holiday with our 9mth old baby, it was made easier with Carolyn setting the place up with portacot, change table, safety gate, high chair and other little necessities. We could not have asked for a more! The location was really central to restaurants, shops and trams so that we could travel easily all over the city and walk locally to many great places. The private little courtyard was also a special space to chill out in. Thank you Carolyn for the extra effort and making our first holiday fantastic.
