Charming spot just steps from Windansea beach, coffee shops and restaurants! Outdoor space, private entrance, two rooms, two beds, closet, heater, wifi internet, coffee, tea, fridge, private bathroom. Nice clean sheets and towels etc. :)
Come stay one block off the most beautiful beach in southern california. Walk to the beach in the morning with your coffee, walk barefoot to go for a surf, or stumble to some great bars, restaurants and happy hours. Your large private room has it's own entrance, private bathroom, no shared walls, and a beautiful private garden patio for outdoor dining and relaxing, along with a large hammock in the grass for lounging in the sun. The patio is perfect for breakfast coffee, afternoon apertif, wine and cheese dinners. The room is equipped with an electric kettle, small refrigerator, french press, and enough kitchen utensils for coffee, tea, breakfast and light snacks. In the summertime we love to share our home grown fruits and vegetables. This house is ideal for people who want to be very close to the beach for year round picnics, surfing, diving and spearfishing. There is a dive shop right down the road, and great surf lessons and rentals minutes away or for the good surfer, expert surf spots walking distance. The beach here changes daily and is equally gorgeous rain or shine. In the summertime it is magical, the water is clear as the Caribbean, making the snorkeling and diving amazing, and of course the swimming, surfing and body boarding. Insanely romantic sunsets, etc...It is truly paradise. I am more than happy to share my love of the ocean and La Jolla with you, so any questions about beaches, restaurants, music venues, etc...I would be more than happy to answer.

Walk to beach, coffee shops and restaurants!
Walk to many spots in the neighborhood. There is a bus stop just steps from the house. You can get anywhere you want to go in San Diego via public transit.
Please be quiet and respectful of the neighbors. No smoking. You're area is private but other people live in the main house, so please keep to your room and outdoor space :)
David and Mikael were perfect hosts and made us feel very welcomed. Their knowledge of the San Diego area helped to make a very a memorable experience.
The room was great, everything was beyond our expectations regarding cleanliness and privacy. The neighbourhood is really quite. Their place is minutes from the beach, great surf breaks, cafes, a market and the best Mexican food (Don Carlos Taco Shop)!
We will be staying here again next time we are in San Diego.
Excellent location with easy access to the beach and all that La Jolla has to offer. Nice accommodations with plenty of room. Many helpful tips from the hosts as well.
Lovely stay at Windansea Beach House :) I was in San Diego for a conference and really felt like I had a little home to come back to every day. David and Mikael were really welcoming and friendly. I was just one person so the space was perfect for me - it felt cozy and had all the essentials I needed. Loved having dishes and a mini fridge. The area is beautiful and safe, and literally two blocks from a gorgeous little beach that (at least when I was there) was relatively free of tourists. Two minute walk to a coffee shop that has awesome breakfast sandwiches. Street parking was always easy and available. I hope to be back and next time have a little more time to enjoy the space and beautiful La Jolla.
The Windandsea Beachhouse is truly an old-school La Jolla experience. This location was the birthplace of both a skateboard and surf board company and hearing about that was of interest to me. David was a friendly and helpful host and I got a nice rest in this quiet location. There was a good bed and the two rooms gave me a chance to spread out a bit.
My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Beach House. I'm 63; she's 58. We're both fit and active. Although we liked the location (1.5 blocks from the ocean), we didn't particularly care for the property. The hosts were great! During our stay not a lot of bright sunlight came in to the rooms. There is a lot of vegetation blocking the sun from coming in. To gain entry we had to go around back of the house. The property is tired and in need of some cosmetic repairs (e.g. painting). The two queen beds were comfortable and the place was clean. It's more of a place for surfers than for people like us. But the young guys who care for the place are very nice gentlemen...very welcoming...always asked if there was anything we needed.
We had a really great stay here- David and Mikael were super friendly and accommodating, and the room was exactly as described- beautiful, peaceful, and within walking distance to the beach!
The space was lovely, just like photos. The location was just what I wanted, close to the beach and a short walk to downtown La Jolla. Restaurant recommendations were appreciated--esp Herringbone. The fridge stuff and the tea/coffee were much appreciated. A great place to stay

We surf, dive, spearfish, love to cook and are often out camping all over California in our '73 VW bus.
