About this listing
Huge apartment in Moscow' famous House on the embankment. Picture postcard views over the Kremlin on one side and Christ the Saviour church on the other.
With six rooms, the apartment is big, bright and has high ceilings. It's on the 10th floor of Moscow's renowned House on the Embankment, with a fantastic, picture-postcard view over the Kremlin. International news reports are regularly filmed from our livingroom. The building is famous for it's unique soviet architecture and history. There's a museum downstairs devoted to the building.
There are three bedrooms, a utility room and a pull-out sofa in the living room, so plenty of space and beds for large groups.
The apartment is located on the banks of the river, opposite the Kremlin and within 200m of the "Red October", the new epicentre of Moscow's social scene, with dozens of great bars and restaurants. 10minutes walk in three directions takes you to a wide choice of metro stations.
For those of you who like to keep fit, there's a cross trainer in a spare room. For those of you who don't, there's a library of hundreds of books about Moscow and Russia which you're welcome to borrow during your stay.
We normally rent out one room. You can find reviews for this on the entry "Great Room overlooking Kremlin".
On an island opposite the Kremlin. Moscow's epicentre. 24-hour supermarket in out (website hidden) STRELKA - Moscow's best bar/restaurant only 4 minutes walk. Gorky Park and amazing Museon sculpture park only 8 mins walk. The Kremlin and Christ the Saviour Church both 5 mins walk.
There are 4 metro stations within 12 minutes walk from the apartment.
Other Things to Note
The building is famous for it's architecture as well as for it's history. It housed (and still does) many top government officials, writers and artists and was the epicentre of Stalin's purges. If you book the apartment, ask me to send a link to an online documentary on the building in English.
Johnny was such a welcoming host and made sure that my colleagues and I settled into his home with maximum ease. He left us local chocolates and champagne for us to enjoy along with a warm welcome note. His home had all the amenities we needed for a great stay and the view is AMAZING. Looking forward to coming back!
