A perfect island paradise, large enough to cover all holidaymakers expectations and tastes, yet small enough to walk around and not need a car. 

A climate of near perfection with constant sunshine and ideal temperatures moderated by a gentle breeze. 

The beauty of the Aegean Sea and its sparkling deep azure blue, welcomes swimmers and bathers into into its smooth, warm, non tidal, calm, crystal waters. 

Unspoiled beaches of golden sand to smooth pebbles to rocks provide easy access and variety to suit all tastes from families to naturalists. All are comprehensively catered for. 

The many beaches, taverna’s, bars, grocers and the baker give visitors all the varied facilities to make their stay the perfect get away. And if the relaxed mood needs a little help yoga and massage or canoeing and sailing are all fully available. 

The small harbour buzzes with activity - the daily coming and going of boats of all sizes and types from the fisherman landing their daily catch, to the ferries connecting travellers to Amorgos, Athens, Iraklia, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Santorini, Schinoussa and many other islands, to the converted fishing boats sailing to and from the beaches and Ano Koufonisi and to the smart yachts mooring to the enjoy the ambience - all make this paradise so perfect and relaxed. And there is no airport to strain the eardrums.

The extraordinary welcoming openness and variety of Greek hospitality especially in the chora which bursts into life every evening. And if that’s not enough throughout the year festivals and celebrations pull together the whole community and visitors alike. 

For those curious about the history and archaeology the chora museum explores the heritage including the remarkable recent findings of Dhaskalio and Keros - the neighbouring islands where civilisation as we know it began.

This perfect house on the west side of Koufonisi village with spectacular views has very easy and short walking access to all beaches, restaurants, bars, shops, gym, main harbour, night life and wonderful swimming directly in front of the house. Koufonisi, this beautiful island, close to, and wind sheltered by Naxos, is part of the Micro Cyclades mid way between Santorini and Mykonos and has - compared to them - a relaxed, peaceful, easy lifestyle and ambience - perfect to recharge your batteries. Villa Thera is a house arranged over two levels with two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the lower floor, sleeps up to six, air conditioning throughout, upstairs WC, Wifi, satellite televisions, washing machine, dishwasher, full kitchen, outside barbecue, three outside terraces and a small well planted garden. Local supermarkets in easy walking distance also provide a home delivery service. Koufonisi with its many perfect beaches does not have an airport but is easily reached by ferry from Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, Naxos and Paros. Everywhere on the island is within walking distance and the temperature is a fairly constant 25C to 30C between late May and early October. Walking, cycling or the converted fishing boats are the best ways to get around the island - a car is not required.
