Joanne's home was an extremely welcoming and warm place that was just what I was looking for .. a relaxing quiet weekend away from the city. The home is set on plenty of property away from the main road to enhance its secluded feel. Everything was clean and neat and as advertised. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. Close to white water rafting, Fallingwater, and a winery. Thanks Joanne!
The house was very nice and the instructions to it and steps to get in were very specific. That was very much appreciated.
Joanne is very thorough in her explanation to my questions.
The house is clean and well organized. However, it is furnished as if someone lives there on a regular basis, so we had to be careful not to displace items.
The beds were not the most comfortable, but clean. The water pipe (not sure if it is hot water or cold water) makes an extremely loud sound when it needs to run. The wall in one of the basement bedrooms shakes when this happens.
There are four full bathrooms in the house (one per bedroom) which was GREAT, but no bathroom for public use.
In the end, it was a wonderful experience and we will most likely go back next year.
I stayed at this cabin for a ski trip weekend and I must say that Joanne's cabin was nothing short of perfect. We had a group of ten people and everybody found their bedrooms quite accomodating. Everyone loved the fireplace set-up and the ping pong table, and the fireplaces kept the entire cabin perfectly warm. Joanne was more than helpful when ever we had questions about the Cabin. I am a bit of a dummy when it comes to directions and she was able to guide me through whatever problems we had over the phone. The kitchen had everything you could need for cooking, and the only thing I didn't like was the electric stove. (just a preference thing) Thank you again Joanne.
Joanne's cabin was wonderfully cozy and made for a really special holiday gathering for my family. The house is well stocked with everything you might want or need to spend a winter weekend in the hills. Comfy beds, big bathrooms, plenty of bedding/warm blankets, big kitchen table, kitchen supplies, and lots of games. We liked that each couple enjoyed a nice big king sized bedroom and their own private bath. The kids enjoyed the sleeping loft.
We loved the roaring fireplace and ping pong table. We also enjoyed the quick drive to some beautiful hiking areas. The nearby markets are well stocked if you forget anything.
This was our first visit to such a beautiful part of Pennsylvania and we hope to visit the area again in summer. We highly recommend this cabin to anyone traveling in the area, especially larger sized groups.
It was great staying in the mountain house.
Great for a group of people as the house has four bedrooms. My only concern was the cleaning cost was way too high as we only stayed for one night and left the house absolutely spotless!! It made out trip much more expensive than we had all expected!
Overall the house was very welcoming and Joanne was very helpful and cooperative!
Our stay at Joanne's family house went extremely well. Joanne was most accommodating with our check-in and check-out, which was much appreciated given the nature of our stay (a surprise birthday party). Her instructions and driving directions were also spot on. The house is ideally situated. Perched on a hill, it is surrounded by woods and feels secluded yet it is located right across the main road where Hidden Valley ski resort's entrance is located. While the majority of the master bedrooms were clean and tidy, I happened to occupy the bedroom that the owner used and was disappointed by the tidiness and cleanliness of the bathroom--more specifically the toilet bowl, which I felt was not up to par with the $100 cleaning fee. The bedroom's door had a number of personal clothes items hanging on hangers and the chest drawer was busy with different bits and pieces, all of which could have easily been tucked away to make us feel a bit more at ease. I will say however that I genuinely believe the toilet bowl was an overlook as all the other bedrooms/bathrooms were clean. Overall, I would still recommend this house for a stay, friend or family reunion - the house's location, size, and host's flexibility outweigh the negatives.
