  • We were met upon arrival by Valentina who greeted us with a bottle of their wine. She showed us to our apartment and answered any questions, despite being busy with other guests checking in at the same time.

The apartment was as pictured. Although not luxurious by any means, it offered a rustic and well-located place to rest our heads. We didn't spend much time there as we were out exploring most of the time. The view from the pool and property was unreal. The pictures of the listing don't do it justice. I don't know if any pictures could. We'll never forget the views of the property and the local surroundings. Wow.

  • Staying at Valentina's farmhouse was a very wonderful experience! The views of the rolling Tuscan hillsides from the pool and the house were better than we could have ever imagined. Barbara (staff for the property) met us upon our arrival and was very welcoming, gave us a bottle of the wine from the vineyard and got us settled into our unit. We only briefly met Valentina but she was very nice and her uncle Giancarlo was also very nice. San Gimignano was a perfect town to stay in if you're looking to explore the Tuscan region for wine tasting. We were able to see Greve, Vinci, Florence, Pisa and Siena very easily because San Gimignano was central to everything!

Be aware of a two things:
    - They charge you a tourist tax (??) of 1.50 Euro per day per person. This was a surprise to us because we'd been traveling around Italy for a month and had never heard of this tax or been charged for it before.
    - Bring bug spray - all of Tuscany has bugs and our spray was used daily

All that being said, those were minor details and we would highly recommend this place!

  • We stayed for 10 days in the Girasole apartment, and everything was just perfect! Valentina made sure to provide us with both a baby crib and a highchair for our daughter. The farmhouse is located in a beautiful area, with amazing views of San Gimignano (and we did used the tables and chairs in the garden for outdoors lunches!), a short drive from town. Valentina, Barbara and Gian Carlo were all very friendly and provided a lot of good tips about the area. I would not hesitate going back again anytime!

  • We had three fantastic days and this suited our needs perfectly. Set in such beautiful surroundings, we didn't want to go home. One of the highlights of our trip. Would definitely recommend. Thanks for a great stay.

  • Beautiful farmstay about 2km from San Gimignano (but please don't think you would walk into town). The accommodation is on a working vineyard and our hosts were generous enough to show us around it, let us taste wine and gave us a free bottle.

The property has some quirks eg showers and taps shooting water around but nothing too problematic. It is a lovely authentic experience. Remember you have to bring all disposables including soap.

Valentina (email hidden) class at the next property over Il Vicario which was spectacular and a must do - a short walk away.

To stay out of tourist areas and get a great Tuscan experience you should stay here.

  • We ended up staying here for 5 nights, just outside san gimignano, set on a vinyard in a beautiful location. Appartments are spacious and clean though the inside could do with a bit more character as a bit sterile.
A very good stay and would recommend

  • Our stay was tremendous and the location is absolutely perfect and beautiful! Our apartment was as advertised and we indeed have a beautiful view of San Gimignano from our window! We were greeted very happily by Valentina's uncle who showed us the room and the grounds (even with our very little bit of Italian). Beautiful pool and well taken care of grounds. Everything in the apartment was great and the space was quite large. I would just mention that there is a 1.50euro/person per day tourist fee that we were not told about. Valentina's relative showed us the regulations on the tax before checkout (written in English and Italian). It is for the upkeep of the ancient city of San Gimignano and we are happy to pay that. But I would suggest that this is mentioned in the price on Airbnb (it was not)s so the total costs can be understood before reserving the room. We were just 2 people for 3 days (thus 9euros), but if you have more staying for a longer time (the limit on the tax is 10 days) this tax can add up!

  • We stayed in the 'Girasole' apartment for a week in late May 2013 and had a lovely time there.

The view from the swimming pool was beautiful and we enjoyed visiting nearby places like San Gimignano and Monteriggioni.

Unfortunately the weather was rainy and cloudy most of our stay, but we did get to enjoy the sun at the swimmingpool at least one time.

We didn't get to meet Valentina during our stay and when we arrived, nobody was there to welcome us, but after a phone call to Valentina, Barbera came over and gave us a very friendly welcome. We were glad to unwind after a 2 day drive from where we live!

Some minor problems we've encountered; we had trouble getting the right temperature / valve pressure in the shower and bathroom sink and the sponge in the kitchensink could use a replacement. Wi-fi was available, but its signal could use a boost so more guests can comfortably use it without having to stand a meter from the Reception building.

Overall, we enjoyed it very much and recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Tuscany.

  • My husband and I spent 3 nights at the farmhouse apartment in March and just loved it. We were greeted by Valentina with open arms and a bottle of wine made on the farm. She recommended several places for us to visit in the area and gave us a few maps & directions. The farmhouse grounds are absolutely beautiful as you are surrounded by vineyards. We had a spectacular view of San Gimignano, which was about 5 minutes away.

The farmhouse apartment was great for us, because we visited in March many of the restaurants were not open in the evening so we purchased food at the Coop and made dinners. The farmhouse has plenty of dishes, a fridge, and a stove top.

Our trip was very relaxing while staying at the farmhouse. We look forward to visiting again in the future!

  • WE ENJOYED OUR STAY IN THE TUSCAN FARMHOUSE NEAR
SAN GIMIGNANO. IT IS A LARGE APARTMENT WITH RUSTIC CHARM,
WELL EQUIPPED & COMFORTABLE. HOWEVER, WE NEVER SAW
THE HOST IN THE 6 DAYS THAT WE STAYED THERE! A NON ENGLISH SPEAKING MAN GAVE US THE KEYS & A BOTTLE OF WINE
WHEN WE ARRIVED. WE NEEDED BATHROOM SUPPLIES WHICH
WERE PROVIDED BY ANOTHER GUEST! WE NEEDED SOME ASSISTANCE & NONE WAS PROVIDED!
