Located in the heart of the medina of Marrakesh, the Riad Thalge welcomes you in a traditional Moroccan atmosphere, with peace and tranquility. 5 rooms for 10 guests, a patio with a small pool, 3 terraces and 2 living rooms.
This beautiful Riad is located in the heart of the Medina of Marrakech, 7min away from the place Jemaa el-Fnaa!
Come discover the Moroccan way of life in this antic house, completely renovated and redecorated in the last years.
The Riad "Dar Thalge" was the home of the favorite dancer of the Pasha of Marrakech in the middle of the twentieth century, in the 50s. Acquired in 2001 by French architect and designer Eric LEGRIS-Pascal, he was then renovated in an architectural style and iconic design, while retaining its original touches, such as the magnificent arches structuring the patio of Indian inspiration.
Dar THALGE offers an oasis of comfort and coolness even during the hottest hours of Marrakech. The Riad has been completely renovated in early 2011, to offer even more comfort, harmony and with the introduction of many touches of warm colors ...
The Patio of 150 m2 has a small pool where you can relax and cool down when blows the hot desert wind... The patio has the advantage of staying cool in the summer and retains heat during winter nights ... During the summer, we live in the patio during the day and spend the evenings on the terraces.
The Riad is available for rent by room or exclusively depending on your preference.

Eating at the Riad
The cook Nezah will prepare your breakfast every morning. She's also here to prepare any Moroccan meal you might want, whether for lunch or dinner. The costs then varies depending on the meal selected and the number of guests.
The Riad also has 3 terraces and 2 living rooms in free access as well as a small central pool to cool off on hot summer days.
You can access them at any time of the day and night, as long as you respect the tranquility of the Riad and the other guests.
The sunroof is equipped with sofas to allow you to enjoy the sun.
We live in the Riad where we have our own private room.
This allows us to welcome you when you arrive, to advice you on your trip, what you should see, where you should eat and just help you during your stay.
Moreover we really enjoy meeting new people and making new friendships. We love sharing our knowledge of Marrakesh and our best spots in town.
Our English is not perfect but Mourad and Yassin speak very well and (website hidden) Translate is always here to rescue us in difficult times ;)
From the airport or the train station, you can take a cab to get to the Riad. The trip takes around 15minutes.
We HIGHLY recommend that you book the cab through us. Our usual chauffeur knows very well the Riad and the charges a flat fee already negotiated by us. It guarantees a safe and relax arrival at our Riad, the best way to start your stay.
From the Riad, you can reach the main square Jemaa El Fna in under 10 minutes.
WOW! I stayed at the Dar Thalge for 4 nights, 5 of us had the Riad to ourselves and we were blown away with the hospitality!
We cannot thank Mourad enough for his excellent tours, and his patience with taking 5 girls out shopping! Thank you also to the ladies who cooked and cleaned for us, we sampled breakfast, lunch, and an evening meal, all of them were delicious! Adeel, the driver was also so welcoming, taking us up the mountains for a amazing, memorable tour on one of the days. This place is a perfect retreat in the centre of the hustle and bustle of Old City, it was our first time in Marrakech, and because of how welcome we were made to feel, I would definitely like to revisit, and stay at the Dar Thalge again. We were all so sad to leave.
**to first time visitors to the city, it is advised to arrange transport with Edouard. It is easy and cheap. Adeel drives you as close as he can to the Riad, then your luggage is transferred onto a wheelbarrow and a gentleman guides you through the tiny streets to the Riad. (We were expecting to be driven up to the front door, clearly we hadn't researched the streets of Marrakech enough)
Summary: We had the most perfect holiday thanks to everyone from this beautiful Riad.
We just got back from a trip to Marrakech. Our first trip booked through Airbnb in Riad Thalge. I must say that the correspondence before and the service and helpfulness were really great! The owners Bruno and Martine, as well as all the staff were very helpful and really helped us to find our way in busy and chaotic Marrakech. The Ryad is nice and quiet, breakfast is very good, you can have a good glass of wine and if you want they can also make you an authentic dinner which was VERY good!
The only disadvantage for us were the size of the beds, a bit too small for our size if you know what I mean! The location is good, nearby the Jemaa el Fna square and some good restaurants (Le Foundouk and Pepe Nero!!)
Yassim, a very friendly staffmember, took us to these places, which was great because of the many streets were you can get lost very easily. They can arrange everything for you, an excursion out of Marrakech , some taxi's whatever you like!
Our experience with this Ryad Thalge was very good and I can really recommend it to all of you!!
The riad thalge is a very nice, clean and bright place offside the touristic Marrakesh. The rooms are very nicely arranged. The French owners and the Morroccon riad manager Murad were very caring. Murad was a treasure in showing us the old city and its hidden handcraft fabricatories! A very good company.
The breakfast is okay, it reminded more of a French beakfast with jam and baguette. We missed a bit the local style in it (olives, cheese and vegetables..). Also, one of the sleeping rooms was a bit humid due to a water damage in the toilet close to that room. It would have been nice to be informed about that before our arrival. When we complained about it, they undertook some measures to make it more pleasant for us. All in all, it was a nice stay there.
Highly recommended Riad - it was our first time in Marrakech and we were immediately made to feel welcome by the friendly manager Mourad. The place was clean, well located and the staff super helpful in booking a trip the Atlas Mountains for the day and also a trip to a local Hammam.
We rented the Riad Thalge for almost two weeks and found it to be a perfect place to discover Marrakech. It's very close to the center but just far enough from any tourist spot. The Communication with Edouard in advance was fast and clear. The pickup at the airport worked out just fine and the Riad looks just like on the photos. The French hosts Martine and Bruno were nice and understanding regarding our needs as guests who rented the house in exclusivity. The Moroccan team made us feel truly at home: There was always someone present in the house. Mourad is a wonderful and responsible guide who tries to make everything possible you ask him, Yassin a charming night guard who makes you feel safe and the house keeping of Najat and Neezah is very attentive. They even cooked dinner for us three times: these were among the best we had during our whole stay in Marrakech. We can recommend the Riad Thalge to all who want to experience Marrakech in an friendly and authentic way.
An oasis of calm in the hubub of Marrakesh. Everyone was very gracious and tried their best to make sure we had a wonderful stay. Maps of the medina and directions were given and clear. We had a wonderful stay. The only drawback is that the WiFi connection only works in the main area and not in the individual rooms.
My friend and I stayed for 5 nights in Edouard's riad. We were warmly welcomed into the beautiful oasis with mint tea and cookies. We immediately felt at home and comfortable with the down-to-earth hospitality of the mangers (Martine, Bruno and of course Mourad).
The Medina can be a confusing place with it's lack of street signs and narrow, windy twists and turns. However, Mourad was an excellent navigator and was absolutely available to show us the way whenever we needed it. In addition, he is an amazing guide. He took us to a few of the places deep in the Medina we definitely wouldn't have found without his help.
My friend and I also decided to eat dinner in the riad twice during our stay, and I'm happy to say that each one was the best dinner we had while in Marrakech.
I have only positive things to say about the experience in the riad. If you choose to stay in the Medina, I highly, highly recommend riad Thalge which is as every other review describes, a little-slice of tranquility and calm in the center of the bustling and busy Medina. In choosing a place to stay in the Medina there were so many options one can feel overwhelmed. I'm confident that anyone who chooses to stay at Edouard's will be completely satisfied by the riad's staff and the overall experience.
Edouard's Riad is wonderful. It seems to get into the "One Thousand and One Nights" novels.
A hidden paradise into the narrow and ancient lanes of Marrakech. We reached it in 10 minutes with a taxi from the train station to Jāmiʿ el-Fnā Square and then we walked for 15 minutes through the magical and typically noisy streets of the old downtown.
The Riad has 3 floors and different, elegant and clean rooms and it's very bright, with a typical oriental design.
Me and my girlfriend we rested in the Master Bedroom, a great bed with a big shower in the middle of the room. My friends rested in the White and in the Red. The first was very nice with a little bathroom outside the room. The Red one is on a spacious and magical terrace (my friends told me that was a little cold during the winter and that it'd be more glad during the spring time). Anyway, all the rooms was really wonderful, clean, comfortable and full of delicated perfumes.
The place is very peaceful and relaxing and Bruno, Martine and the other guys who hosted us has been very kind, communicative and hospitable (we had a little problem with hot water in the Red Room and they helped us, another friend reached us at the last moment and they quickly prepared another bed to settle us, they prepared tea for us at midnight when we came back from our little walk in the center).
In the morning they prepared us an unbelievable and delicious breakfast.
It's been a magical week-end and we was really sad to stay there just for a week-end. For sure we'll come back in Edouard's Riad.
I reserved this Riad for my 30th birthday with friends in Marrakech and the team was absolutely delightful. Not only was the Riad gorgeous, but the staff was incredibly helpful with setting up tours, taxis, any questions, food, and one incredible dinner that they hosted for us next to the pool. I will send EVERYONE I know to Riad when they are visiting Marrakech.
Wish I could do it all over again!
Medina is incredible and centrally located. Our hosts at the apartment went above and beyond to help us, showed us around Marrakech and even partied with us on one occasion. Amazing experience all around.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
